Hi i'm Linda,
I have 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl, ranging in ages from 19 to 11 years. I have been on my own for more time than i care to remember!! Actually 6years, but 4 years for definite! A long story! It has gone really quickly, as I tend to keep very busy and being a teacher, term time is full on and i always like to do something in the school holidays. Just returned from a last minute weeks hol. in greece, sailing, windsurfing and mountain biking, all good exhausting fun! Now getting ready to take kids camping in cornwall for a couple of weeks and so far it hasn't stopped raining!!

I have had a look for support in Leicestershire and found The Centre for Fun and Families on 0116 223 4254 and you could try your Council for Voluntary Services who should be able to signpost you to support on 01530 510515.
I hope that you can find something.

Hi My name is jade. I am a single parent and have been for 8 years. I love being a mum and appreciate all the benefits of being a lone parent - i can do it all my way :-) It has been a struggle (one of the hardest i'll ever have to go through, hopefully) but i have come out the other end and have a beautiful 8 year old to be proud of.... I teach Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities in Bristol, work part-time at a Housing Association and do voluntary work for a agency supporting refugees.

Hi its justme ( thats my user name). I am widowed with a 2 1/2 year old daughter and a 19 year old stepson. I am a stay at home mum at the moment but thinking of looking for part time work soon. Bit nervous about that as I have been at home since my daughter was born. My husband died while I was pregnant. I dont often use chat rooms as I like to know who I'm talking to. Also with an inquistive toddler and a facebook mad stepson I dont get on the pc as much as I'd like. Will give it a try though.
