The Children’s Centre programme is based on the concept that providing integrated education with childcare, family support and health services are key factors in achieving good outcomes for children and parents. The centre offers the following services for children under five and their families:
Acacia provides telephone support and a weekly befriending service for mothers and their families affected by pre or post natal depression across North Birmingham. Acacia Dads is a free support service for dads and other family members who feel they may need some extra help and support after the birth of a child or help in finding ways to support their partner who may be experiencing Postnatal depression. Services also include creche facilities, pamper service for mums attending post natal support sessions, baby massage classes, resource library and family fun sessions.
Amaze for families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Andover Adult & Family Learning Centre (AAFLC) offers families, grandparents, mums, dads, carers and children the opportunity to learn new skills in a supportive, non-threatening and friendly environment. Also offered is free information, advice and guidance on employment and learning. We have up-to-date resources (such as leaflets, prospectuses, information packs, computer packages) to help you and can help you access the internet at certain times and locations.
Asian Women Lone Parent Association work to support Asian women, who are lone parents and their children by providing services that enables them to improve their lives and wellbeing. They do this through active support, one to one and group services, training, skilling, workshops, counselling, signposting, personal development, outreach, volunteering projects, social events, parenting support and much more.
The Baby Equipment Loan Service provides basic items of baby and safety equipment to people North Tyneside. Both long and short term hire is available and local delivery can be arranged for a small fee. Also available are wooden and travel cots, single and double buggies, highchairs, baby monitors, fireguards and safety gates at a subsidised cost.
Barnet Lone Parent Centre is a registered charity supporting lone parents and their children in the London Borough of Barnet. We provide: Advice and welfare services Youth club Parent and Toddler drop-in Volunteering opportunities
The Youth Offending Team is a multi-agency team, managed within the Children’s Services Department, and includes staff from Health, Police, Probation, Education, Social Care and Connexions.
Baby Equipment Loan Service & Toy Library (BELS & TL) offers essential items of baby and safety equipment e.g. buggies, cots and highchairs to families on low income or benefits, living in North Tyneside, for loan at minimal cost. There is also a Toy Library, for children 0 to 15 years of age, providing educational, stimulating and fun toys. Outreach sessions: In order to ensure that many children receive the benefits of the Toy Library, the Staff take a selection of toys and games for children and parents to choose for their month’s loan.
