That sounds lovely trying hard, she'll love that!  Hope she has a lovely birthday.

The Git doesn't send cards for this lot either, which they found odd the first time, and then accept...

Thankyou Sparkling i suppose mine will get use to no cards when they get a bit older, its just when they are younger it seems to mean more, also we are not a big family so she only had 4 cards on wednesday so she noticed  it more, never mind she'l have a few more tonight.Hope everyone is ok and keeping warm catch up later xx

Hi tryinghard, tis very quiet around here today, I guess because Louise has head off on her much deserved break everyone has left the room!

My daughter still secretly expects a card from her dad and he hasn't sent one in about 6 years. There is nothing we can do, except know that they are digging their own pits. Children don't forget these things.

I hope tonight goes really well and she has a fab time. Take care of you, I hope you get to put your feet up before the end of the night! yes

What do you think of these new emoticons??

Hello everyone, hope you're all okay. Anna, I'm loving the new emotions yessmiley

Not had a very eventful day, though I did get the hoover out, oh and I defrosted freezer. Can't see the dust if I sit in the dark, hehe. Had good day at work yesterday.

Wonder if Louise was on the beach today? She must be barmy lol. It's absolutely freezing indoors, let alone at the seaside, bbrrrrr!

What's everyone's plans for the rest of the weekend?

Hi hazeleyes, glad you like the emoticons, I was wondering if they are a bit too quirky?? But it is nice to have something a bit different, I guess!

Well done for defrosting the freezer, that is one of my jobs I keep putting off, any tips??!

I bet Louise is having a super time wherever she is, fresh air and breeze, even though it might be a little chilly, will still be reviving and wonderful!

Last night I went out for a friends birthday, which was fun and today was sunday roast with another friends birthday, so busy us!

Very very very cold though, probably too cold for snow, but not far off I don't reckon surprise

Busy weekend Anna.

Well done Hazeleyes on doing the freezer.  My luxury is a frost free fridge freezer, but I do have a chest freezer which does have to be done.  I also find that so long as the dust isn't disturbed no one would ever know either.

Been cleaning the hut today.  Three leaders, plus one spouse, three parents, one grandparent and a few children.

There are about 50 children in the group...

It looks so much better.

Anna, I absolutely love them, don't get rid!!! The freezer tip? Well, I ordered from a shopping channel a steam cleaner, well actually it looks a bit like a jug. Originally I got it for lime scale, which this cleaner is supposed to work magic on (doesn't by the way), and then I saw it defrosted freezers, and yes it works. In fact from beginning to end, it took just 20 mins. Absolute godsend. Also means of course that nothing has time to defrost, food wise. I think altogether it cost £26 something, that included the £6.99 p&p. The channel is called price drop, and you can get it on line too.

Yes it is very cold, and I'm sure Wales is due for snow, (sorry Sparkling)

Had a cleaning day today, sorted the kitchen, C's bedroom, furniture had to be moved around (aarrgghhh) ironing done, although it wasn't much to be honest, dinner done and dusted. C is in the bath now, and I'll follow once he's out and had his hair washed. Work tomorrow, so an early night for me, though I did have one last night, but didn't sleep too well. Come tomorrow I won't want to get up.

Teacher is having an observation day on Wednesday, with me also being observed, and I'm not looking forward to it one bit. I think it is the head of literacy as well as the headmaster. Teacher will go through it with me tomorrow. Remembered earlier today that I have to send off two wage slips (copies) to DWP, as they wrote saying that I had been receiving In Work Credits for a while now (since November) they have to have proof that I'm working. If no proof, then they stop the IWC! Good job I remembered eh! Also tried to set up standing order for loan I have to pay back. Was going great guns too, until I was stopped in tracks, because they don't have the right phone numbers for me, they have really old ones. Anyhow, can't set anything up until next Sunday! Oh well.

I hope everyone is okay and keeping warm. Have you all had a good weekend? Very quiet in here, so maybe everyone is partying, unless you've all gone with Louise, without telling Anna and myself, hehe. Sounds like you've had a busy weekend Anna. Lovely to see you here by the way.

Enjoy your week everyone. Take care.

I had a frost free freezer too, but it conked out if you remember. Now I do it myself, and the freezer is a lot quieter too I find.

Any help here would be great please. C has (since before Christmas time I think) been twirling his hair, knotting it, and then pulling it out! At first the knots would be played with, not pulled or anything, but now he does. It is so bad now, that he has a bald spot at the back, and it is so so so noticeable. I thought it was to do with nerves maybe, but I've spoken to him, and he says not, still saying he just likes the feel of it! Tonight, after washing his hair, I took some pics and showed him exactly what it looks like. I am mortified. To give him an incentive to stop, I have told him that I will put some money into his account every month, on the condition I see an improvement. He is very much money orientated, so thought this might work. Any other suggestions would be gratefully received. He thought a bit of string might do the trick, but I'm not convinced on that one.

Being money orientated might do the trick.  I don't have any answers, otherwise, I'm sorry.  Could always call on Christmas Robin too.

Hi hazeleyes

This sounds really similar to my friends daughter, who at 13 pulled all her beautiful hair out. It started about a year after a really stressful period in their family life and lasted about 9 months, I think the visual effect was worse than the physcological impact on my friends daughter although we were all devastated.

Have a look at this website Trichotillomania Support online, there is lots of interesting information there, looking at why people do it, ranging from anxiety to boredom. They suggest that some types of foods can trigger it too.

hazeleyes I am not doctor though, so it would be wise to visit yours before you take anything too far.

Will C talk about it? Also sparkling, who is Christmas Robin??

Morning all...Sorry to hear about C's hair hazeleyes....

Thanks Anna, yes we had a great time, chatting for hours..LOL..I have really made an effort to get out of my comfort zone and meet new people...It has been great, and nice to know that people like me for 'me'...That's quite hard to do and think about when you first come out of a long relationship I think.

Bella,It has totally helped me, and I always recommend the I can mend your broken heart CD on an I-Pod..It doesn't have a lot of exercises to have to follow, and just relaxes you...It has definitely helped me too...I think it has just brought the healing process forward a lot quicker, and I don't get those overwhelming feelings anymore either...

Hope everyone else is ok...sparkling lrh,trying hard...xx

Hi to everyone, too tired to go through names lol. Thanks for link on that Anna, shall have a flick through maybe tomorrow afternoon, when C is not around. Sparkling, don't think the Robin will work, maybe nearer Christmas for that one! He told me that today he twiddled with it, knotted it, but didn't pull the hair out. I gave him 50p for telling me the truth, and just hoping that he is telling the truth! Anna, I thought of the boredom thing, as someone at school said her daughter had a tic in her eye, she is way above her years too, and boredom was suggested on that. I'm checking his pillowcases too (for evidence). I need to chat to the GP also, such a bad mum for not doing it sooner, but I honestly thought he would stop after a few weeks. I've tried ignoring, had his hair cut short, but still he managed it! Thankyou all anyway.

Good day at work. Observation on Wednesday, and totally dreading it, lord knows why when it's really for the teacher and how he uses me in the classroom. Don't want to let him down, and need to chat about it tomorrow. Hospital appointment came through (not sure if I posted it). It's for 5th March, which I hate the date anyway, as it was my Dad's funeral on that day, and I remember when my gall bladder came around, they gave me that date, and I cancelled, thinking it would be a bad omen. This time I shall keep the date, hoping it will bring good luck, rather than bad. Very superstitious me!!!

Have a good evening everyone. xx

hi hazeleyes - i have posted on my other thread "its only been a week" looking for a new nickname for ex - calling him idiot now - what do you thinkdevil

i was feeling low but you know what - he is being such an idiot and making me hate him quite a lot!

having said that I don't think i am going to waste any more emotion on him - he is an idiot when all is said and done and ew is welcome to him - in fact they deserve each other - can't believe i was friends with ew at one point - whatever was i thinkingfrown

anyway onwards and upwards - no more negative energy wasting on the idiot - i have got the rest of my life to get on withcool

ooh i love being able to use the emotions nowyes

Hi all

Mich, it is such a great feeling when you meet people and they seem to like you for you! Not as so and so's wife, little one's mum or woman in supermarket but as YOU!

The next few years I think are going to be quite exciting for you, finding yourself rebuilding a life where you are completely in control and doing lots of new things and getting to know yourself all over again too! You were with your husband for a long time, we tend to lose ourselves. So come on girl, bring it on! smiley

hazeleyes, don't you dare say you are a bad mum, this is isn't true. How are you to know that something might escalate. You were seeing if it was a passing phase and letting nature take its course. Good luck with chat with GP and the observation you will be FINE!

Glad you enjoying the emoticons little red hen, just left a message on your thread, but it really sounds as though you may have turned a corner. cheekyyesangel

Hope you slept well sparklinglime, you are such a busy woman, have a good day smiley
