    The Horn of Africa Family Well-Being Project is a service that provides support to families from the Horn of Africa region (e.g. Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea), who are living in and newly arrived to Birmingham. We have staff who speak Arabic and Somali, and we will be able to provide you with support in these languages. The Family Support Workers can visit you in your home, or you can come to our centre to receive help.

We have a Supporting People contract, which enables us, through Hampshire County Council funding, to work with fifteen people or families and their children. Trinity Women’s Services provides a safe space where women can be listened to and supported to enable them to make positive changes in their own lives. We offer structured courses and individual contact sessions with appropriately trained staff and volunteers and have a crèche facility for women attending our groups.

Now, they do a lot more than collect and deliver furniture: they offer training opportunities, have meeting rooms for hire and we have a cafe which is open to all.

Anyone can use our shop and those who can provide proof that they are on income related benefits will be entitled to get a 20% discount off furniture over £20. The aims of the project are to stop reusable furniture from going to landfill, provide good quality low cost furniture for those on low income and have volunteering opportunities within the local community.

    Hastings Furniture Service

    Hastings Furniture Service provides affordable re-used furniture, electrical appliances & light removals for people on low incomes. Unwanted but reusable furniture is collected from donors throughout Hastings & Rother free of charge. If you receive a means tested benefit (incl. working tax credit) you can register directly with HFS by bringing proof of benefit with you on your fist visit to the store.  The wooden furniture store is open to the general public and we offer a full house clearance service which helps fund the charity.
