Community Furniture Service - Sunderland, North East

The Furniture Service was set up to help people on benefits or low incomes in need of good quality, low cost furniture. The items of furniture are donated by members of the community to re-distribute. This not only helps people in need but also diverts bulky waste away from landfill which helps the environment. With access to good quality furniture, people who cannot afford to purchase new items will be able to furnish their homes giving them a good standard of living and dignity.

The Furniture Service also houses a number of training and volunteering opportunities for members of the local community, teaching life and work skills & knowledge to prepare participants to enter the labour market.
