10 – Hobbies & Interests

This section of the CV is another chance to give evidence of your skills and personality.

Do you have any hobbies that demonstrate the skills and qualities that the job requires? For example, if you like playing football, it shows you are fit and can work in a team. If you like watching documentaries, it shows that you like to learn new things. If you’re a world traveller you’re confident and able to cope with difficult situations, etc. And if an employer sees that you have the same hobby as they do, that might make them choose you over someone else.

Write down your hobbies, and the skills that you use doing them. Start with ones most relevant to the skills the job requires and make sure this section doesn’t get too long!
