should i be worried about my self!

Hi hatz. That is appalling. The nurse yesterday should have firstly listened to what you were saying about the gauze between son's toes, and secondly, if unsure, should have called someone else in. I know the hospital is quite a drive, but could you ring the ward up, and explain that you're not happy, and that you want your son to be seen there, to have it done properly. Surely they can also give you the bandages, gauzes, all that is needed really, then you could do it yourself. Is he walking better now, or is he still in pain? You could also get your arm xrayed if you go to the hospital?

What a drama hatz!  It's good you've been shown how to do the dressing - and just as well your mum bought some micropore - handy stuff...

I don't think it sounds too good that your arm is still causing problems though, maybe you need to have that looked at.

I have one of these blow up santa's.  I got it one summer in focusdiy and paid £8 for it.  It was quarter price and I couldn't resist!  We put it up in our teeny front garden on 23 December and take it down on Boxing day.  I keep saying if it doesn't blow up next christmas I can't moan at that price.

Take care hatz

That Santa sounds hilarous!

What a palaver you had with the dressings, I honestly thought you would get some good advice there, nurses are usually pretty good at dressings. You are clearly keeping an eye on your son, though, just see how his feet are in the next few days and if you have worries surely you can ring the hospital where the op was done and get some advice.

Are you off work at the moment? How long is he likly to need the dressings?

yeh i'm keepin a good eye on the stiches and all that cuz i dont want him to get any infections on his toes as it wont be good for him on such tiny toes! but there we go! i'll be phoning the hospital some point this week to ask them how often i should change the dressings on his feet and just say that the health centre are useless and all the probs i'v had with them! so i'v taken it on my self to sort him out!

yeh i'm having to take the time off work :( not happy bout that really, but he cant go to school while he cant get shoes on his feet! so it's just got to be done! and it might be up to 2wks :( but we shall see what happends! if he was still at nursery it would be slightly better for him as they could have kept more of an eye on him making sure that no one stands on his feet! but there we go! took the hosptial 4 months to put the aplication thru! grrrrrrrr! lol so as he's off schook and all that i'm having to try keep him busy, entertained and all that! and all i want to do today is have a BED day! lol but i'v got a few things planned for him! lol cooking today cakes and biscuits then goin to get him to make his dinner!

WOW! £8 for the santa! lol thats wicked! and as you say if it don't blow up you wont really mind! lol and you only have it up for the few days! :D better that way! lol then less of a chance of bein nicked!

Right! i'm goin to have to logg of the comp and go down stairs! my son is about to pull my curtains down in me bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH hahahah! beleive me!  having his feet done aint slowed him down one bit!  ... oh! lol his walkin is a lot better altho we still cant get shoes on his feet! lol

I would love one of the blow up Santas, but wouldn't risk it here, and I'm not climbing on the roof that's for sure. The fake snow arrived this morning, and I so want to have a go with it, (I'm such a child)lol. Just hope it's not too fiddly!!

lol we should be getin snow in the morning shouldnt we! (or is that just us lucky midlanders! hehe!) so they say on the weather forcast!!!!!!!!!!!!! :O :D

yup he sure is keeping me on my toes! YAWNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!! so not use to having him 24hrs a day! (dose that sound bad???) what i mean is ever since he was bout 4 months old i'v never really had him all day! :( :) :O he use to go off to me step dads or a child minders then when he was 6months old he started nursery and been there till he started school! lol so i'v never really had him for more than a weekend (unless on holiday!) for a full day! now he's had his opp i'm like hold on a mo! lol i'v got him all day every day till he can get a pair of shoes on! lol crazy! i might ask if he can go in for the mornings next week and just try tie it in with work! .... we'll see!

phoned the hospital this morning and explained to them my probs with the health centre and told them that the nurse there was no good so takin it upon my self to do his dressings and bandages and everything and asked how often should i change the dressings and she said i should do them every other day and asked why i wasnt told that or told to get another appoinment with the nurse there and i just said she was rubbish didnt even change the dressings on one foot and i ended up doing it at home and everything and she was shocked! so she gave me some other advice told me that the paddin needs to go around the whole toe and padded out at the side and everything else! and then said if theres anything else you need please call us so least i got that life line there! I duno if they'll get in touch with the health centre or what but they'v put it down on record that i'v at least had a bad experiance there and they didnt do there job properly! I will be phoning to get an appointment with my dr on friday so he can check my son's feet over and re-asure me that there all right! lol and i will say what's what with the nurses there!

My arm seems to be losening up now! still clonks and clicks to it's self in the whist mainly but it's pretty much ok! lol i still get a sudden pain shoot down it and i was holding something earlier and it happened and i wasnt holding it after so it's effecting my grip again! (i say again cuz i'v had something simular before shortly after i had my son i forgot that i was holding things and dropped them!) ah well! lol

lol i just remembered my dad phoned me earlier askin for my son's date of birth then said ok i'll give you a call back in a min .... that was 5hrs ago! haha! wonder what he was after that for! lol

todays cookery lessons went down a treat! :D we'v made halloween cup cakes (which arent really halloween any more as we decided to stick postman pat stickers on them! haha) then made postman pat cookies! (which ended up with the halloween things on! haha) and then found the box of ginger bread pumpkins to decorate so we did them! and then made me mum a choc cake (gluten, dairy, wheat free!) so we'v got a fair few cakes to get thru! lol :D all good tho! :D goin to be lookin around on the internet tonight to get some ideas what can do with the monster tomorrow! still got his sience book to work on! and spellings! lol

well me mum shouted up stiars to us this morning that she was off to work and there was 2 tonne of stones turning up for the drive way! lol!!!!!! so like an idiot i decided to move it all in to place! yep i moved the lot of it! took a fair few hrs and at one point i was debaiting if it was going to snow or rain! lol but it's all sorted again now! lol (don't ask about my arm cuz it's being over ruled by the pain in me back! hahahahaha!!!!!!!) sent me mum a message sayin stones here and i'm shattered! lol and she said you twit you didnt have to do it! ...... ah well done now!!!!!!!!!! thankfully!

well me and sonnyboy ended up doin science and spellings! then tonight before bed he read me a story :D we got the floppy, biff, chip, kipper storyes (magic key??) but there one of the collections that schools use and that! lol but he read pretty much a whole book to me tonight :D was really good, melted my heart, and made me realise my little boy isn't so little any more and is starting to READ! :D

Ahhhh! my autnie in scotland says it's snowed and snowed! hehe ... she's even posted photos up on facebook so am a wee bit jellous! haha ah well maybe we'll get some for xmas! :) whould be sooooooo nice if we did even just a little sprinkle over the floor! hehe! not seen a white xmas since i was a yongster! lol :)

Hello hatz

I am not surprised you were tired after shifting all those stones! Hope your arm has not suffered too much.

I remember the Kipper Magic Key books, my boys enjoyed those. They especially liked the "nosy neighbour" character, which appears in the later books.

What are you up to today?

i really couldnt think magic key was the name of the books! lol ... the nosy nabough i'v seen him in the book we were reading last night! i'll have to point him out to my son see where else we can see him! haha!

well! so long as i dont move my back i'm all good! lol hands a bit tight from holding the shuvle but it's easing up a bit now! lol all this typing i do! .... best get down stairs and see what my sonnyboy is up to now! lol he was watching BFG (and from sounds of things he still is! lol)

hiya! everything is going really well now :) he had a check up at the hospital on tues just gone and they'v said there looking really well, he's got 1 toe that has scabbed up but hopefully after he's had a few baths it'll come off and be fine! while i was at the hospital i told them about my lovely experiance at the health centre and they were shocked! questioned me as to if it was a nurse that i saw of which i said well she had a nurses badge on and uniform and all that so i would have thought so! lol not that it makes and differance really but all the classic signs! the nurse at the hospital i was talkin to actually called in a dr and told him what i told her and there might be something happaning! lol i wont be involved in it nor will i know of any out come! but he was quite cross with what i had told them and everything! :) lol so other than that at the weekend my son can enjoy his first bath in 2 weeks! (stincky feet! haha) then after that he's got plasters to put on his toes (well i got to! lol) and he should be able to get normal shoes back on his feet! :D

he's started back at school last monday and did a few 1/2 days then today he's done a full day ... well almost! lol just got in from dinner shift sat down to have me dinner and then i get a text message sayin due to the worsening weather conditions you can pick your children up from 2pm! ha! so thought nah i'm eatin my dinner first then i'll go get him! any ways by time i get there and thru the queue of people waiting it was 3pm! haha! so i just picked him up and said see ya tomorrow! lol HOPEFULLY! lol

Hi hatz. Glad your son's foot is ok. You'd think the school could have informed you before you left that they'd be letting children out earlier! Oh well, you're back in the warm now.

When do you put the decorations up? C and I did ours yesterday, well the living room anyway. He wants stuff in his bedroom, and so far I've avoided doing it, hehe. I want some lights and bit of tinsel in the kitchen too, as I spend most of my time out there.

Hope you have a lovely weekend.

well the monster came home with me at dinner time today, he was VERY cold as fell over, wet as fell in the snow! and his feet were FROZEN! bless him so chatted to the teacher and she said the only thing were really goin to do as children are all cold is sit down and watch a Christmas film and do some drawing! so i said ok i'll take him home with me! :) so he came home when i finished work! i didnt get out of work till 1:30 :( meant to have finished at 1:10 i was on first aid duty this week and i did get a bit packed out with head bangs, cold frozen hands, a lad being kicked in the gin-gang-goolies! (which i couldnt do anything about for leagal reason! but he wasnt cryin that much so guessing it was just a tiny bit of a put on!) ooo a twisted ankel! lol that was the best of the day! lol i'v seen 1 boy 3 times this week for the same reason so his mum loves me cuz it's all a bumped head note home mon, weds and today! I don't know lol busy busy busy! lol i did ask 2 girls to get one of the other ladies to come and help me, i didnt see the girls again and i didnt see another lady coming in and helping me out so when the bell went i was crowed with the kids i had in first aid, the 2 classrooms full of children as we use one of the cloak rooms as the first aid point for ease of life! then if there's anything more than what a plaster or ice pack handless we have to check them in with the main first aider!

so yeh any ways! he came home with me and we made it just about in one peice! i need a pair of ice scates as our estate as all ways has become the ice rink of ashby! lol were packed solid with ice on the roads and were at the bottom of the hill! THANK GOD we'v got landrovers! lol so to warm mr man up i decided he could have his bath today! :D so i ran the water for him and he just wanted water no bubbles in it!? (first for everything! lol) and he had a nice warm bath! so as he's had a bath he need's a smaller but more effective plaster on his toes so he's now down to plasters and the best thing about that is he can get his shoes on his feet now! :D so shoe shop here we come tomorrow at least!!!!!

Mr man's got some of his dec's up! lol in his room! got to find the rest of the bag out from last yr with the rest of his decs then will put them up! but as for the rest of the house we don't usely till bout a week before! lol we'v got my uncle staying with us this xmas and were going to spoil him as he's not really celebrated xmas for a fair few years now so were planning a special xmas for him and my son of course! :D but we'v got a fair amount of work to do before he comes up lol so we wont be putting any decs up till all the house is clean and tidy'd away lol!

has any one else got SNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWW :D i LOVE it LOADS! :D no matter how long it lasts for a day or as we are now in our i think 2nd week! :O :D WICKED! :D LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aaww bless ya, bet you hate it even more now it's frozen over too x (beleive me i hate it like this!) i'm sittin here with me dovet, (x2!) fleecey blanket jumper lol endless items of clothes! lol but there we go! were only at -8 (which my lovely gadget says a high of -3 and a low of -6 is amazing! lol) it sure is a bit chilly! lol

we brought the monster a pair of snow boots which ok are a size 13 but it's the only ones they had left :( so just got to put an extra pair of socks on lol and we also managed to get him some lovely boots for school :) up the ankle ones with 2 velcrow straps! :D there wicked and when i saw him at dinner time i asked him how his boots were and he said lovely! :D which is good news! but he wants to go to school in his snow boots tomorrow! lol OOOOooo we'v got his christmas play tomorrow! :D so cant wait to see him :) just hope he can preform and not get stage fright (even tho he's only got 5 words to say! awwwww my son was amazing :D and i'm sure the whole school would agree even tho they were in there classes when the parents came in! ... yes he SHOUTED his line out so clearly and perfectly that he was just perfect :D the whole of reception class made it thru with just a few little ones you couldnt hear what they were saying but at 4-5yr old faced with i don't know how many parents, grandparents, brothers, sisters, friends etc i don't blame them really, i'm actually suprised that it wasn't my lad who was one of the quite ones!!!! i think he was the loudest one there! LMAO! :D

his feet are looking really good now too :D he's still got the stiches in his toes but they are starting to disolve now which is brill news :) he's down to normal bog standard plasters which makes it even better for him (and me!) We have a follow up appointment on the 21st of this month which i'm hopin the dr will say yup all's well and healed and you don't have to come back any more! :D hehe! one of his toes still has a slight bend to it but we cant do anything about that now and i think it's now the bone that needs to be corrected. but as they said to me he cant have any other opperations on his toes now till they stopped growing which will be 16-18yrs old so it will be totally up to him then! :D so after the 21st hopefully with the all clear there is nothing else we have to do and it's all over with :D whoop! :D

Cant beleive Christmas is just around the corner now :O it's gone SOOOOOO fast! lol i'm down to my last 4 or 5 pressents to get now so i'm nearly there i guess! lol just got to think about one persons presssent to get but i'm sure me dad would be happy with what ever i get him! lol

right! i'm goin to get goin again now, i'll try not leave it so long between posts lol been 5 days since i last came on here :O wow! lol applyed for the lunch time job for after christmas :) so i'm really hopin that it's goin to be me getting one of the permant jobs goin out of the 3!

my son's coughin away :( hope that he's not coming down with what me mum had last week as it knocked her totally off her feet not seen her in bed when she's been ill but thats pretty much all she's done managed to be up and about for an hr or so and then sat back down and gone back sleep :( but she's just bout all better now but i think my son's now comin down with it :( SO not happy if he is (not that it can be helped) i'm comin down with something too ... well i'll re-fraise that, my chest is getting really tight and i do have a bit of a cough but i'v started takin my asthma meds again so i hope it's not goin to get any worse.

got my son's photos back from school on friday (i think!) could have been thrus ... could have even told you all ready! lol but they'v managed to get such a good photo out of him and i'm really impressed :D considering the last ones at nursery didnt get done cuz he wouldn't smile or even look at the camera :( so to get one with such a good smile out of him is brill :) just got to get a few frames now and then wrap some for xmas pressies! :D

nearly there on the pressies side of life! just me dad and step dad to get really! lol may be a few others to keep the others happy! lol but every one knows that i'm not goin over board this yr one i don't want to! and two i dont really have the money to do so!

Good luck today, it sounds as if you are organised with the outfit as well.

Once (many years ago) my friend was trying to find work. She lived in Kent in a shared house with my boyfriend and some others and I used to be there at weekends and the holidays. Anyway we went to London on the train and she was amazed that a temp agency got her an interview straight away. She only owned a pair of fleecy boots and the agency said you can't go like that. So she put my shoes on. My shoes were size 6 and she was size 5, so she shuffled to the interview while I waited in a cafe with no shoes on, as could not squeeze into the furry boots. I remember thinking it was the ultimate trust in a friend. She got the job, anyway, lol.

Let us know how you get on, hatz Smile

was talkin to one the ladies today (she is a dinner lady but was in the interview too!) she was tellin me how impressed they were with how much of a wide range of personal and work experiance i had with children and looking after them!!! basicly my mum was a minder so helped look after children at home, went on to do work experiance with children, x2 collage corses to do with care and child care x3 different schools work experiance! so they were REALLY impressed and said that they have never had someone for the dinner job thats as young as me who's had the amount of experiance as me! but also thankfully they didn't say that i was over quialified! LOL They were impressed with my referees! well i'v only gone and got one of a police man!!! hehehehe (just got to know the right people!!!)

Was really good to have the people come up to me and say congrats and well done! and to know that i'v finely done it and got some where again! started back on the job front! Next year is the next part! goin to get me self either a little cleanin job or paper round then i'm goin to get RID of the job centre!!!!!!!!!!!! totally and utterly out of my life! would be nice! :D i'v only been there sinec july this year thankfully as i know some people that have been there a LOT longer than me. so as long as i can get pick something esle up to cover me for what j/c is givin me then thats my plan and hopefully by my birthday in march will be a fresh brand new start!!!!!!!!

and yes i do beleive that my son's ring gave me that little something extra! hehe!!! (and the lady that i was REALLY hoping wouldnt get the job ... hasnt!!!! i know that sounds mean and everything but she has no experiance with children, from what i have seen is hopeless with them and ok this dosent mean anything in any way! but she's not got children of her own so she's not got the personal experiance if having children either!)

Hello hatz

Great to hear you sounding so positive and I can well understand the "wanting to get rid of the Job Centre" feeling. You should feel very proud of what you have achieved....and this is just the beginning. As you say, if you eventually extend your hours to 16 per week then you can move onto Working Tax Credit. When you are ready to do that, it is worth checking what the WTC policy is, as your new job is term-time only hours, but when you are ready our 1-2-1 money advice service will be able to help you out.

sure has put a HUGE smile on the end of term :) what a way to end not only the school year but also the whole year :D with everything i'v been thru this year being made redundant, aruments with my parents, not feeling wanted too interview, job, lil man getting his first certificate at school and doing SOOOOOO well! :D and to a brighter next year :D it's amazing what a few things can do to change the whole world around! :D

So is everyone ready for Christmas!!??? i'v just brought another pressy but it's my brothers girlfriends birthday on monday so it's for that more than Christmas ... just got to get her a Christmas pressy now!!! going to burton on tuesday for hopefully the finel check on his feet so what ever i'v got left i will be getting then and there who ever i'v missed out i'm affraid they wont be getting anything as thats my shopping days over and done with!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We'v got 2 more days of school left here :) monday and tuesday altho tuesday we'r at burton so he's only got 1 day left :D i'm not in at all on the last 2 days due to job centre and burton so i'v offically finished work for the year! lol which makes a change as preivious years it's not been since Christmas Eve then straight back to work like a day after Boxing day so at least this year i can truley let my hair down and RELAX! :D
