I'm sure he must be feeling rather emotional about leaving the house, Louise?  I'm sure that freezer will be empty by Monday...

I'm going out for a coffee with MiL this morning, and meeting up with a friend in the cafe too, after she's picked her daughter up from nursery.

That was nice taking flowers hazeleyes.  So sad for her.

Good news about the kitchen.  With the bathroom, would they put an electric shower over the bath?  All those with new bathrooms on this esate had a shower fitted too.

Aw, Hazeleyes, it doesn't stop for you at the moment, does it!

Hope your son is okay Louise, probably sad too about leaving the flat.

Hopeful, will read your thread in a bit. Have been thinking of you.

Sparkling, did you enjoy your coffee? Was it the posh one like Louise has? The shower thing. As I'm extremely lucky to even be offered the bathroom (it should be one or other), he did say they would probably just put in twin taps, and hook one up. I am lucky though, but maybe sweet talk them when they actually come Wink

Had a letter today from Housing and Council Tax Benefit. This is the first paragraph, and I'm understanding it, but not!!

I am writing to tell you that the future payments of your housing benefit and council tax benefit will not be made after c. (not sure what c is!) until I have further information. This is because we have been notified by DWP that you receiving Working Tax Credit (I have been all along) Please note, from April 2012 WTC is only awarded to a couple if they are working 24 hrs or more per week. The information we hold shows that you work fewer than 24 hrs per week.

Goes on to ask me for my new contract showing the date my hrs increased, plus all payslips I've received since this change.

I am totally confused, and poured myself a glass of wine!!

Coffee was lovely thank you.

That letter is self-contradictory,Hazeleyes,...first of all they say that you can't have benefit because you get WTC, then on the other hand you DON'T get WTC because you work less than 24 hours a week and you are a COUPLE. Right! Cool

Glad you had a nice coffee, sparkling. Great to see you Mich (waves) Hopeful I trust you are taking things steady.

I think my eldest felt it was all beyond him, he has texted me today to say that all packing was done and he had got it into the van for the storage place so he could now relax (with no stuff though Cool)

Glad he is sorted Louise, a relief for him and you.

Glad you enjoyed the coffee Sparkling.

Just spoken to a friend, who has told me to send something in to benefit office to say that I have a job for September. I'm on a contract, but the new one hasn't arrived yet, and to be honest my first one took months. So tomorrow I shall send a letter stating that as soon as new contract arrives, I will send them a copy. Feeling a lot stressed after our chat, though I just want it all cleared up as soon as possible.

Hazeleyes, if Anna doesn't let me come, shall I come down and sort your benefit people out? They obviously haven't got a clue!

We still have sunshine here, but it seems that elsewhere in the country the floods are back.

Am a bit gutted about the football (not that you lot want to hear about that.... :-p)

Hello pancake queen nice to see you in Chat, this is the bit of the site where we share our day to day stuff and touch base with each other. What have you got lined up for the weekend? My eldest has just finished Uni so is landing here tomorrow for a couple of weeks.

Hopeful yes I thought you may be disappointed about the footy but your team has played well in the tournament. Being at home will give you a chance to spend some quality time with the children, I know that usually there are not enough hours in the day!

Hi all. Fat chance of Anna taking you Hopeful, but you're more than welcome to come here and sort the benefit people out. I'll make you lots of tea, let you rest loads in between phone calls and visits to their office. When I'm working and you're bored, there's lots of ironing to get through, then the cleaning. Does that sound okay to you?Tongue Out Hope you're okay, and resting lots. xx

Hi Pancakequeen. Lovely to see you on the chat thread. Tell us all about your day etc. Anything goes here really, especially when Anna and Louise are absent, hehe. (only kidding LouiseTongue Out)

So, you're leaving us too Louise? Where are you heading off too? Hope it's a nice sunny place, wherever it is. Are you all ready for your eldests return?

Sparkling, how are you? Any interesting things going on for your lot at the weekend?

Watched some of the match last night. Bad luck Hopeful. I think Italy will win it, how about you?

Not a bad day at work. Next week, it shall all be back to normal, work wise. Past two weeks have all been fun stuff. My teacher is heading your way Louise, with the year 6 lot, so I shall have a supply, and I think she's great, but she's dreading coming in to teach the 'St Trinian' lot.

Youngest at the dentist this morning.  They took two not four teeth out ready for the braces, so back again in a couple of weeks.

Youngest says that he would reccoment the sedation gas to all his friends and to me, as even though injections were felt, he really was away with the fairies and wasn't bothered.

Last time he had baby teeth out to have a removable brace he screamed the place down (he was 9 then and 13 now), so it must be effective.

Just saying this in case in some way it helps someone make choices in the future.

Me watching - well I'm traumatised!! Laughing

I was ok really, just decided before they started that I would much rather be in the waiting room, but then that would have been letting youngest down.  Funny bit was how he waved to me in the middle of it all while away with the fairies!

I've had two wisdom teeth out WITHOUT gas (on seperate occasions) and can say that the injections were the worst part - and the noise.  No pain...

Hi,

My day has been a bit unusual as I have been off sick this week so not at work. I've had that horible cold thats been going round and ended up with a chest infection. Been feeling a bit better today so went out with my girls to my ex sister-in-laws and spent the evening with my ex husbands family!

Hi sparklinglime....my daughter is on the waiting list to see an orthodontist, no one has mentioned removing teeth to her yet so I'm hoping she won't need any taken out as I'm not sure who will be more scared....me or her!!

My sixteen year old is waiting for treatment too.  I think its worse for us!

I had a great relationship with my MiL and late FiL.  I always took the children before divorced and continued after.  FiL died recently, and I was called DiL in the service and in the announcement in the newspaper.  Must have been difficult for The Git's wife (he remarried four years ago now, I think).

I hope you're able to continue with that, even though it may be difficult at first.  Hope you get better very soon.

Ooh all this talk of dentists! Youngest had to have some root canal work after having a bad fall (doing some hurdling and caught his foot as he went over) and I hated watching it but was there to support him, as you say sparkling.

Hi pancake lady, yuk about your cold but great that you saw the inlaws, hopefully that relationship will continue. It's Saturday, by the way, so get the frying pan out Wink Are you due to go back to work on Monday?

Hazeleyes, I will keep my eye out for your teacher breaching the boundaries of the grim North. The supply teacher may be quaking in her boots. Yes after Anna's hol I am off for a week, am just going away for a few days to Hadrian's Wall country, I love history so there will lots of opportunity for visiting Roman places. Last time I went away, youngest was Ok for four nights, am only going for three this time and eldest will probably be here, bossing him around. What are you and C up to this weekend?

Hi sparkling, have things calmed down at all in your house? What is happening with the business?

Hopeful, LRH and Looby, hope you are Ok.

Eldest due to land today. It is chilli con carne (mince again! Undecided) for tea, so I have bought some tortilla chips and salad so the whole thing will stretch to another person. Spent yesterday evening helping youngest apply for his provisional licence (he wants this not so much for learning to drive as for ID, which he will need for a pop festival in August) What with him going to a festival and eldest planning a sky dive, it is a wonder I have any nerves left!

Hope everyone will have a good day....let us know you news Smile

ooh sparkling, I want your wisdom on the subject of popcorn. Have got a bag of corn: do I just put it in a pan with the lid firmly on and heat it up a bit? Do I need to put anything else in the pan?

I have a great relationship with my in-laws, my ex has never been into his family so it was me that maintained the relationship whilst we were married so it feels natural to carry it on. They are very supportive and the girls love them all so its a win win for everyone.

Pancakes have been made this morning and the girls are playing disney trivial pursuit....not sure how long it will last before the arguements kick in!!

I'd love to offer some advice on cooking pop corn in a pan.....but the last time I tried it I burnt the pan so badly I had to throw it away!!!!! I tend to stick to the microwave variety.

I'm feeling slightly better thanks, the dr signed me off until wednesday, hopefully I'll be fully recovered by then.

Hi Hopeful, why do you worry about going to the hairdresser, have you not found somewhere you feel comfortable?

Popcorn - lid on firmly, with a dash of oil on the bottom of the saucepan.  Pressure cooker works well too... Smile

Hello everyone - been wallowing in self pity but think I have turned a corner - haven't really caught up with everyone so I apologise

Had a huge row with eldest last night - apparently if we go to live in a council house she is going to live with her dad ( I'd like to see thatSurprised)

Youngest and I went shopping for school uniform (i know only day one of our summer hols!) got her a new skirt, two blouses and school shoes and I splashed out and bought myself new clothes too.

Good for you on splashing out lrh. What is wrong with a council place ask your daughter. I live in one, and where I live is fine, no drugs, no trouble. I guess its just the area, but not all council places are the same, and even private housing has the same stigma. What are young people told nowadays?

In my opinion hazeleyes there is nothing wrong with living in a council house and I am getting more cross with her by the minute - it all started about 2 years ago with her swimming buddies - someone came in wearing a Jack Wills hoodie and it has been designer labels all the way - she doesn't seem to realise some of these kids go to private schools and therefore have money - it makes me mad and I don't agree with it - the peer pressure is unreal.  She even had the cheek to say how skanky our house is (her dad left it in a poor state of repair and I am not spending my money on doing it up until I know what is happening) needless to say I told her not to bring her friends here cos she would be too embarrassedWink

Big wave to everyone, need to go back a week and read all the posts. I honestly don't know where this week has gone, but it has been the best week I have had in a very long time!

Have had a fabulous day today. Went out with sister in law and niece for lunch which was very nice. Came home and had to do cleaning, which normally I hate but have finally been able to afford a new hoover so for once hoovering was exciting. Sad to get excited over a hoover I know, but my carpets look amazing. Then niece phoned and said they were going bowling and did I want to go, so I've been bowling. Thrashed my very competitive brother in law in the first game and only lost by 20 points in the second. All without breaking a nail. I'm now sat with a glass of red watching Iron Man and about to do my online shop. Tomorrow me and J are off to pick our glasses up. J is very excited about having glasses, wonder how long that lasts Undecided

Hi Louise, sparklinglime, hazeleys and everyone else xxx

How are you all doing?

I havent been on here for ages, so much has happened the time just goes by so quickly.

I am currently on jobseekers again having been on ESA for a short period and guess what I am now not eligable for any help toward the business plans, so all the hard work of the past 6/8 months is wasted, but never mind, I am looking for a shop at the moment and WILL find a way to finance it, not sure how as yet but there has to be a way.

Hope you are all well and life has been kind recently xxx Laughing

I am fine now thank you, wasn`t for a while, think my friend and I both went on complete burn out just after Christmas, we were out till almost midnight on Christmas eve helping a lady, I was poorly on Christmas day so dinner was kind of thrown together but we got there ha ha
