Hello Bella

I was very moved by your story and wanted to ask as Jacs did - have you got a support system around you? It sounds like times are really tough for you at present and I don't like to think of you having to manage without someone for you to lean on occasionally.

Hi all. Bella, I'm sorry things turned out this way for you. I do remember you saying your son was moving into your ex's, because of lots of different circumstances. Why are you signing him over to your ex? Sorry, had to ask! The other children, they are older, if I remember rightly? What happened there? You used to see them, and visit etc. My heart goes out to you.

Good evening, just got back from visiting my eldests new senior school. She doesn't seem big enough for 'big' school.

Louise, hope you decide on something yummy to make your friend....when you do please share, I'm cooking for my friend tomorrow night and could do with some inspiration!

PQ, ta-da-, you have your avatar! Yes it is a big jump for them to go to senior school, a little fish in a big pond and for us as parents, there is much less involvement and control so that is hard too.

Hazeleyes, how did you get on at the council?

How is everyone else?

I am ready for my friend coming, well I will be when I have done the cooking. The menu is: chicken with pesto, wrapped in bacon with diced roast potates and mixed salad. Pudding is just an invented thing, chop up some strawberries and cherries, top with some creme fraiche and decorate with choc chips. Eldest will be attending. Youngest can never commit until 30 seconds before an event but seems to think that he will come home after work, do his chores and have a snack, go to the gym....so I guess by then he may agree to grace us with his presence.

Well it is my youngests L's Birthday today, and her plans have gone out the window (wanted to go to rumble jungle) as the poor thing has come down with chicken poxs, up to late last night coming up with a contingency plan and blowing up loads of balloons and making a pass the parcel.

Well i best be off i still have to make a carrot cake, and need to drench L in chamoline lotion.

Hi to everyone else.

Booked tickets today for Harry Potter's studio. Taking C and a friend, (C's birthday treat). That set me back £70, so no more money in account Frown I so want to go away for a few days in the summer, and I was getting excited by the thought of it last night, but in the cold light of day, I'm really not sure if i can do it, financially I mean. It would work out great if no bills had to be paid, no new uniform, shoes etc to buy, and shock horror, I'd even forgotten C's birthday coming up, so presents to buy. Not given up yet though, still working out things.

Hi everyone

Hazeleyes, sorry you have had a hard time with the rent issue, do hope its resolved asap for you xxx

My son had a great time on his taster day at high school, he cant wait to go in September, BUT they only return on the 17th Sept as the new school they are building wont be handed over till the 4th Sept and the teachers are having a week to familiarise themsleves with everything, then each year group goes for 1 dat the following week so my son goes for 1 day on the 14th and the whole school goes back on the 17th so an 8 week hol for my son, the good news is every single child is being given a netbook comp to use both at school and at home xxx

Net book, tiredmum, that is fab, and it is better that the teachers have some idea of the new building. I remember when both of mine first went to secondary school how often they got lost.

The Harry Potter thing could actually be part of the birthday prezzie, Hazeleyes. You will all probably think I am a right skinflint but I always used to say to mine if you have a big treat or a party then I can only afford a small present.

No comment about the baby mice! Surprised

Hope your daughter is feeling a bit better Sally and had a good day in the end.

Meal went well. Both boys were invited but youngest went to the gym then had chicken drumsticks later and I had saved him a pudding. Eldest had been working on a Recruitment Day and texted me to say I won't make dinner as I have met a girl at the event and so I am going on a date. He certainly does not let the grass grow under his feet

A proper ladies man is your son Louise Wink Hope his date went well. Glad your meal went well, am sure it was delicious.

Tiredmum, those eight weeks will fly by. Will be nice to have a brand new building to go into too.

The half term is an idea Sparkling, thankyou for that. It's disappointing though, and I'm still working things out here Smile

Took C swimming after school. I suggested before he went in, that maybe he could ask to try with the 'biscuits' (water wings). I said this because two weeks ago, he managed to go on his back without them, (I think the teacher had forgotten he didn't have them on). Anyhow, he said to the instructor 'my mum said could I see if I can go without the biscuits'. Her reply was 'well, it's not your mum in the water' Cool He didn't wear them, and he was fine. (mum knows best, me thinks Smile) Have to pay a deposit for next terms lessons in two weeks, to secure a place. Received an e.mail from them Frown

Going to dismantle C's wardrobe today. I've ordered both of us one, mine is lopsided, and only stays put, as it's in between the alcove! C's is much too small, as it was the one he's had since birth! Buy now, pay in a year (the only way to do it). Still have the bed and mattress to pay off, but getting there slowly. Wardrobe doesn't arrive until 1st August, but I have to get rid of both of them, and it'll take me a while to get rid of it all, and definately don't want it hanging around when it arrives. Also a chance of them coming earlier than they said, like the bed did.

Weather looks horrid, though the sun was shining earlier. One of the teachers is having a sort of get together, which I can't go too, no sitter, but I do hope the weather improves for him.

Carnival for your lot Sparkling? Hope the weather is also good there. Thinking of you.

Tipping down now Frown

The weather here is absolutely fantastic!  The sun is shining and its warm.

At the hut before 10am (no one wanted to come earlier...) sorting the table and tombola stuff.  Down to the field for someone to suggest a bucket and banner...  Hmm.  Perhaps suggesting this on Thursday might have been better.  Did go back to the hut to sort out the bucket though.

Then to the field...  Beaver leader said that next year she'd like to do a float as her dad has a flat bed trailer, only for cub leader (I consider have considered her to be a friend, but now not so sure...) to pipe up that her daughter wanted to do that too.

I'm having a bit of an issue at the moment, with the way her daughter behaves.  Swears in front of her Mother, and had one of my Scouts in tears after calling him names - and her mother didn't stop her.  There were three others who started to laugh, and still the mother didn't stop them - so I did.  Mother didn't bat n eyelid.

A parent has called it perfect daughter syndrome (she is a very clever and gifted girl), but I won't let my children dictate to me - we discuss, and five of us reach a conclusion - but this girl really is taking over.

I'm thinking of dropping cubs because of this.

I'm sure I'm being a sulky madam here, but I don't want to upset my friend either.

Ooh yes the carnival!Have they gone, sparkling?

Eldest sidled off to work saying don't make any tea for me, I may be going out, (I don't know with whom Surprised)

My friend (the one who came yesterday), her teen daughter got locked out the house so came round here for a chat till her mum got home. As my friend is also called Louise, her children call me Auntie Thelma Tongue Out Anyway we had a nice catchup, then another friend had a look at my car prior to the MOT, it only needed a bulb changing and some brake pipes, it is 10 years old but keeps chugging on, touch wood.

The rain here was absolutely torrential all day yesterday, we have finally got a strange and unfamiliar light in the sky today for the first time in a week so I am rushing to get all the laundry out on the line

How are everyone's Saturdays going?

Hi everyone,

Had a lovely evening with my friend last night, stayed up too late so feeling quite tired today.

Hazeleyes, have you thought about saving the tokens in the Sun newspaper, Hols for £9.50. We do it every year and have a great time.

Found out this week that its going to cost £950 a year for my daughters school bus...eeek!! Not sure how I'm going to scrape that together Frown. Along with all the new school uniform she has to have its going to be a very tight summer for me, although on a plus note I managed to get her school blazer from the 2nd hand uniform shop, £5 instead of £54, and its virtually brand new....yey!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend, lots of rain showers here.

Am still being lazy - all this being told to take it easy is doing me no good. We've not had lots of rain here either.

No1 son has gone to Romania with his girlfriend because her grandad has been taken ill. No2 son has gone to a friends overnight. No3 son is wherever. Daughter has come shopping with me, but now the car has two full bags in it that I can't lift (I probably could, but I don't want to chance it).

Hi all.

Yay we've had sunshine today! Still didn't manage to get my grass cut, but never mind. Had to take J back to the opticians today as he has managed to chip his glasses. Bear in mind these are super ultra tough kids lenses that don't chip scratch or break. Yeah right. Less than a week and we managed it!

Went up to in laws earlier. It was their wedding anniversary yesterday so I was looking at their cards. Ex had signed his card from himself and new girlfriend. First time he's done this. Have to admit, it was a bit of an 'ouch' moment, but didn't let it bother me for long. Father in law saw me looking and laughed. He said it was strange seeing ex's name with someone elses on a card, but then told me to look closely. Mine and his girlfriends name start with the same two letters. According to father in law, ex had started to sign the card from him and me and had to change it at the last minute! He'd then got so flustered that he'd forgotten to put kisses on the card. I asked father in law how he knew this and he said that ex had told him! It did make me smile. I know where he's coming from though, as I've had to stop myself from signing his name several times.

Hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrow. Me and J are off to the local farm park for a birthday party. We have our wellies and waterproofs at the ready!

Morning everyone (just! Well, it is Sunday...)

Looby, hope you and J have a fab time at the farm park - when I lived near a farm park I got a real thing about piglets; they are so cute and cheeky, just like puppies but with bristles rather than fur Smile  Hope the rain stays away for you.

Hopeful, I'm glad to hear you are 'being lazy'. What has today got in store for you?

pancakequeen - make the most of the peace! Hope you enjoyed your coffee. I'll be watching Andy Murray later too (shhh, don't tell Louise!)

It's fine weather wise where I am, but I bet that will change as soon as the washing makes it as far as the line.

I have been looking at FRG and trying to not to get wound up but every thing i am reading i am taking with a pinch of salt.

I keep meaning to post on there but if i think about them jumped up civil servants i see red because of how CLUELESS they are with my children and one of the disabilties.

But my solictor is editing an e mail i am sending them to find out what is going on and why i am on restricted access.

I did discover something yesterday and that is most women turn the children against the dad, i have heard this tons of times from other males BUT never from a Female untill now!

I am sure the same can be said for dads too but after hearing it from a woman i feel a lot better.

Sorry if i have upset anyone though..

Ah...  Bit like me saying that most men can't be bothered with the children maybe Pash??

Sometimes its best not to worry what the general census of opinion is, as everyone is different.  It's just most - if not all - of the split families I know personally have worked out contact brilliantly - which is why it surprised me when things didn't work out with The Git.  One of my son's friend has shared care with the mother and father, and I get on well with both the mother and the father as I see them both at various events depending whose week it is Smile

Any how, so pleased your eldest has been to see you.  I really hope this is the start of good things.

Hi all. Hope all's well in the big bad world!! I'm truely wrecked here. Two hours sleep last night, no idea why, lay listening to the pouring rain, and all sorts of strange noises in here! Normal chores for Sunday, plus I dismantled a chest of drawers, emptied C's wardrobe, moved that into my room, and then put stuff in. Trying to dismantle bits as early as possible for new wardrobes arriving! Have just sat down, so am going to enjoy this, and bed is definately going to be by 8, or I'll be fit for nothing tomorrow.

Hope you've all had a good weekend, and lets hope for a good week ahead. x
