Oh, skyflower, how frustrating....but like you said, at least you don't have to wait all weekend.

Have a lovely birthday Kiera, good that you have a night out to look forward to.

Anna, I think H's main issues are her lack of confidence and low self esteem. They're also seeing their dad less than they used to and they're isn't any structure to when they see him which I think is very unsettling for her. I've tried to tell him this but it falls on deaf ears. I was hoping if he talked to H she would tell him herself but as he didn't give her an opportunity to talk it didn't happen....but he never wanted to talk about problems when we were married so I suppose thats the way he is.

Not got much planned for the weekend, might try and go for a walk if it ever stopd raining!!

I have already met up with some of you online, but I thought I'd say hi. I am one of the team, and work with Anna and Sally on the Onespace website. I am not often posting on the Forum (I struggle to keep up with Anna and Sally, and Louise is just in a different league!) but I 'm often lurking in the Who's online box.

PQ, confidence is a difficult one. I don't know, but so many teens, including my own, seem to struggle with who they are and where they are going. The lack of structure with her dad must be hard too.  Is she any good with words? Trying to write things down can help sometimes....Maybe her dad should read some too!

I can't believe it's five days since I've been here! Louise, daughter is doing 6th form. It seems so much more complicated now than it was with the boys!

Am still in bed - stayed up late yesterday because I have a night shift tonight. (whatever logic that followed). No3 son brought me breakfast in bed! Then went off to college early to do his assignments. Do you remember what he was like when I first came on here???!!!! He is totally changed. Yesterday he said to me he would have to find a hobby soon, because he is getting bored just hanging out with his mates.

Still waiting for operation date. So frustrating!

Skyflower, how old is your daughter? My daughter is now 15 and she was very clingy and I had to almost push her 'out of the nest'. Now she doesn't want to spend any time with me at all and I don't like that either. Sigh. But I am sure it's just a phase and it will be ok in the end.

No2 son is doing 'work experience' at the Clown Eatery. This means he is working for nothing - well, a burger a day - for two weeks, and maybe at the end of it he will have a job there. Yesterday he came home and said it was quiet and they sent some people home. Not him, obviously, because he is the cheapest labour of all. He has promised he is still looking for another job though.

No1 son did bring the new girlfriend home over Christmas, did I say? Unfortunately, he is 25 and she is 17. He did say she was very mature for her age, but she IS 17. She is nice though, so I am keeping my mouth shut (which is sooooo hard!). As a friend pointed out, her daughter is 22 and her daughter's husband will be 30 this year. What a difference those 5 years make!

Enough rambling on! Hope everyone is fine!

Hi Hopeful!! I can't tell you how lovely it is to read that No3 son is finding his way. Sounds like No2 son is enjoying his work experience, fingers crossed he is offered a job. So No1 son is dating a 17 year old girl? Well done for not saying anything, I am glad that you like her, how loong have they been together? I hope that you get your operation date come through soon.

Hi Flowers,  it is when during  private law proceedings under Children Act 1989 proceedings for child contact and child residence, a question arises about the welfare of the children, and it seems to the Court that it might be appropriate for a Care Order or Supervision Order to be made. The local authority will then undertake an investigation into the child's circumstances and report back to Court. A social worker will do the investigation checking background, history, profile of each child and adult concerned, response of family members, Gp, school. In my case she has been very positive, so I am grateful.

Hi Hopeful, what a long wait for the operation, every day is one too many I feel for you as you want it done now. I am so glad no 3 son is finding his way and was so nice as to bring you breakfast and so mature his reactions!!

sometimes we worry if they are going to turn out alright and all of sudden it is happening!

Thank you Anna it was just terrible these people seem to have no feeling for what you can go through, you see, it could have easily been done the other way round :

First phone me with the password and warn me a positive file is coming! Now how difficult would that be? Innocent

No, Anna, last time I dyed my hair was about 6 years ago, I wanted blonde for a change and paid a fortune to have it done at the hairdressers. It looked alright and

was shocked next morning when I took a shower, it had turned orange!! Never did it again, just like to change my Avatar !!
