BT, AND THE MESS I'M NOW IN. HELP

Claire-Louise

Hi Alison
I really am stalking you now!!!! yes we have had more snow today and the schools and nurseries are closed. The kids have been to their friends and been out sledging with them which has been a great help to me.
I have just recommended a site to you on another posting. I saw it advertised on TV and it made me think of you and they said they are impartial so it might be of use in terms of working out who you want to sign up with once you ditch BT.

Hope that helps.

Hi Alison
Thanks for your post. I went back to the drs today to have the blood test results explained (which she didn't do that well). I was called in 20 mins late and had a lot of qeries as I have been lying in bed over the last week thinking all sorts of stuff - why do I always get ill, why does it knock the stuffing out of me/ Have I picked up some sort of illness in India years ago that has not been treated? Do i have swine flu? Why are my sinuses always? I am guessing you get the picture?! I wrote it all down as I was determined to get to the bottom of it all and she cut me off and said I would need to make another appointment to discuss it further!!! The cheek of it!
Anyway I am back omorrow for a diabetes test and will see the dr again next week to finish off my list of queries and get further test results. I am up and about today but coughing badly. Oh well!
I really loved the image of you ad your son walking along with chips and savaloys!
How are you feeling? I know you were quite down about things last week - has that changed at all?
Cheers C-L

Hi Claire-Louise
That is terrible the way the Dr can just dismiss you like that! I know their time is valuable, but what about ours, and the fact that you have so many unanswered questions going round your head. I'm sure you are worried about it all, but it could be a number of reasons why you are always ill. Your children could carry a bug, and pass it on to you, perhaps you could be a bit run down and so your immune system is low. Hopefully, you will get some answers next week. (book a double appointment)
I am trying to look on the positive side of things, but I still feel low, tired, no energy etc. Yesterday was a really bad day for me, lots of tears for me and my son, lots of cuddles, lots of 'i love you's, etc'. I honestly felt as if I was cracking up, and all sorts running through my head. I wasn't fit enough to be a mother, my son would be better off living somewhere else. I actually asked him to sleep at a neighbours as I needed some space from him. He sobbed, I sobbed. I truely meant it though at the time, but when he dissolved in tears, I broke down. A sorry state of affairs I'm afraid.
Today, things have been much calmer and better, but i still need to have a chat with the doctor.
Take care of yourself C-L, and try not to worry.

Alison, I'm sorry things are so hard. It's not surprising after the last couple of weeks. I hope you're able to have a chat with your GP very soon. I hope you're GP is one who listens and tried to understand.

Claire-Louise - that's awful. GPs can be so frustrating...

Hi Alison,

Only just seen your post...so sorry that you are having such a rough time at the moment, been so pre-occupied with my own misery I didn't notice your recent posting on here, so sorry. Really hope you are feeling bit calmer today. We all have to cope with so much every single day its just not fair and sometimes I want to scream that from the rooftops! I'm going to have a bath and hope it calms me down, hope you manage to get some sleep tonight.
Take care gorgeous, you're a fab Mum, never forget that

I would just echo that, alisoncam, you're going through some horrible stuff right now. We are here to support you, and I will post more on the Evening Chat thread. :)

Claire Louise, I hope you get sorted with the doctor. They are supposed to be the caring profession!

Hi Alison
Thanks for your post. I have been back today for a diabetes test and have booked another appointment to see the dr next week so I hope she has more time to listen then! I was saying today to some friends that we really need a dr who used to be a private investigator and really wants to get to the bottom of things rather than just sort out the current illness and send you on your way!
I am sorry that you are still feeling low too, Alison. I think it is good that you are going to have a chat with your GP although it is not surprising as you have had a lot to deal with but good to get yourself checked out - bit like a car having an MOT!
I would like to say though that I think we do all have those days where we think we are not fit to be a mother and that our children would be better off without us. I have certainly thought that on may occassion and then it passes. What are other people's thoughts here? But I don't think that is a strange thing to think. It is if that thought stays with you for a long period of time that you need to start feeling concerned.
I am glad you and your son are feeling calmer today. it certainly sounds like you and your son have a very close and strong relationship with is just so key - like a good foundation to an building. Oh dear I am doing lots of starnge comparisons today - sorry!
You know that we are all here for you don't you?
Big hugs C-L

BT cut off Alison's broadband today - in error, it seems, and even though its an error, it's going to be at least four days before they can reconnect  Trading Standards seem to be acting on this today though.

She's saying hi to everyone.

Hi Sparklinglime - Thanks for the info about Alison - wow BT really are the business!!! I hope that gets TS into action to actually get this all sorted for Alison. Please say hi to her fromme. Maybe she can make the best of this though by catching up on some well needed sleep?! 4 early nights until she gets reconnected?!

Hi Louise- Thanks for the wishes. I am back to the Dr next week and hopefully all the test results should be in and she should have time to really go through them with me and get to the bottom of this.
Cheers C-L

Hi Louise

Could not believe it when Broadband cut me last week! I rang them, and was told different stories as to why I'd been cut! Eventually they tried to say that I had personally told them too!!!! Turned out, they said I had phoned on a particular date, but I pointed out that was impossible as they had cut my phone line at that time! I called Trading Standards straight away, and insisted something was done. She actually spoke to someone senior, (or so they said). Anyhow, Broadband was re-connected on the Saturday, (after me ringing them again on the Friday). I have also had some things knocked off my recent bill, and they have deducted another £10 for all the hassle that has been caused. Nearly laughed in their faces at £10. Thought the least they could have done was pay the whole amount.

The good news is, that I shall be able to pay that bill within the month of Feb, and then i shall get shot of BT line. Unfortunately I might still have to keep Broadband for a little longer. Still looking at possibilities, and juggling money around. I no longer have to pay BT for ending my contract early (or so I was told), but Broadband I do, and that is £100.

Lots of people have told me about their contact with BT, (just wish I had known earlier), I would never have gone with them. Oh well, hopefully, it is sorted now.

I've also got a copy of an e.mail that was sent to Trading Standards, outlining everything, so at least I have it in black and white.

Take care

Alison

Hooray well done, you have really achieved something there, it is awful how these big, faceless companies can put us in such a dreadful position.

Hello all

Today, I called another company regarding my phone line, and they are switching me from BT to them. The absolute difference with this wonderful lady that I have just spoken too is heaven compared to the dreaded BT. I was given her name,  have to say I did scoff, and say 'I'll never get to speak to you again'. Not only did she then go on to give me the direct line to her, but also her extension!!!!! Nearly fell on the floor.

Fingers crossed the change over will go perfectly, (have to say I'm nervous on this one)

Anyhow, this is where I'm at now. Have to stick with the Broadband til next year (shame), As soon as that is done, I will be out of there!

Hi alisoncam

Thats great news! I am so pleased for you, its not surprising you are nervous, how long is this contract for?

Hi Anna

I'm not in a contract with new company. Its with the Post Office, I only have to give 15 days notice if I want to quit. I have all of this in black and white, and also I was told the same thing over the phone. I'm nervous about BT because even though they have assured myself and the trading standards that I'm no longer in a contract with them for the phone line, I know what they are like, and how quickly they change things!

For today though I am happy with the switch, the sun is gorgeous, but it is still very cold here. Its Friday, and I've got my son to look forward too for the weekend.

Hope the weather is good for you, take care

Alison
