Hatz, it sounds like your cat is as pleased as you are to be home xxx

Maybe the man had some mental health issues, we have a guy like that here and it guaranteed he is in the shop everytime I go in and he always starts on me, he has alcohol and mental health issues and can be really scary, the staff in the shop though are great and whenever he starts on anyone they step in and distract him.

So glad you are having a catch up with your lil sis, a good end to your day xxx

Hi hatz

Good news about the cat. The chap on he bus/at the zoo seems as if he not very well at the moment and all you can do is get on with your day and make sure your son is Ok. As for the lady in the supermarket, the best spin on it is that she thought you were somebody famous. Now what you have to do is to decide WHO!

haha! i'd be the Queen me! haha! i kinda guessed he wasn't all there just wished he'd left us alone! the only really low point of the day yesterday! but there we go! yesterday was yesterday and today is today as for tomorrow... that's another day!!!

well my cat never left my side all night! (which is unlike her as she usely wonders of round my room!) but she was on my bed all night and even when my son came in she stayed there! :) bless her! :)

today we were goin to go swimmin but i can hardly breath with this cold i'v still got and had a rubish night last night waking up with the amount of coughing i was doin :( and then monsteroo was coughing too so i don't think it's really a good idea when in the water it can get hard to breath!! so were goin to plant some flowers up in the front drive way and water everything! and other than that need to go up tesco's and change some clothes that i brought my sis daughter as i brought her the 3-6mnths clothes as her son was in 3-6mnths at 6wks but when i asked how big her daughter was she said that she's still in some new born things! so goin to get it changed for the 0-3mnths. I'v brought some mini mouse pj's! in PINK!! hehe! ... i think it's funny i'm not a pink girl at all, and was glad to get a boy cuz i didn't want to get pink this that and the other clothes! haha ... but walking down the girls section in tesco's i was  there lookin at everything and thinkin it would be soooo nice to have a baby girl and dress her up in this that and the other!  haha!!! ... also my son turned to me and said that he wanted a baby sister! :O i don't know where that came from but think it was a hint! lol

grrr! monsteroo! playin up i best get sorted out and everything SOOOOOOOOOO cant wait till tuesday can start gettin back in to normal ruteen and everything then! :D he's had enought of being off school and i'm not lookin forward to summer hols at all! :( get too long off! (altho were away for the 1st week of the hols! lol (if i can find the last £200 to pay it off with by 23rd may!)) ... just watching Mr Tumble on tv and Justin's in a school with a group of children about 6-10yrs old this one girl that's blind has just played the hello hello theme tune on the key board ... both hands :O WOW!

right best get sorted out :) chat laters x

My sister's cat went missing - ages ago now - and they found her days later in an empty house a couple of doors down.  She'd been able to get in through a cat flap, but it was a one-way flap, and she couldn't get out.

An estate agent had to let them in to rescue the cat who was so poorly by then - she did recover.

It's so upsetting when they go missing.

I'm so glad she's home (and good to know she's 'bitless (sorry)!)

YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! morning! well the house is tidyed up ready for parents to come home! just waiting for the monster to decid when he's goin to get dressed and out his PJ's! lol but yup today's the day they come home at some point! as to when i don't know yet! or even if they make it home! they took the range rover to pull the caravan but they had mega problems on the way up as it couldn't pull the weight! so might be taking it VERY easy on the way home and stopping at every stop possible!

Whoop! he's getting dressed!!! lol i'v only been asking him for the past 1/2 hr to get dressed! lol ... well tomorrow it's got to be in 10mins else we wont get to school on time!!! oooooooooooo I cant wait for tomorrow! (ok it means i have to go back to work too! lol but i can cope with that!!!) lol :)

well i'm goin to get sorted out a little bit more! just got a bit more in the kitchen to do and the ironing and peggin out the clothes from the washer then i think were all done! WHOOP! :D love being on time! lol chat laters x

yeh it is a rather large caravan! 25ft! :D so it needs a big car to pull it! ... well as i said the range rover struggled ... on the way home it set a light!!!!!!!!!!! :( ... thankfully they (parents) had a fire extingruisher in the van so they just grabbed that and put it out! they figured out that it wasn't anything to do with the engine that set alight, nor was it anything that's overly improtant so they carried on goin home (semi slowly!) When they got home one me step dads work partners came and they had a look at things and found the problem was the central locking and the fuse had blown which cause the speaker wire to melt and set alight!!!!!!!!!!!! We use to have a landrover 110 known as big birtha which pulled the caravan with ease but step dad got board of it and sold it! big mistake now of course! as we'v now got to find another landrover that would be able to take the weight and be able to pull the caravan with ease again! but it seems as tho they had a semi good weekend! they'v been to this place 3 times now and each time something's gone wrong or they'v been ill! so there sayin that they might not go there again! lol first time they went my step dad was VERY ill! 2nd time my mum was ill and this time well they both were ill inc the car! lol step dad had some sort of panic attack in the night, mum had this cough/cold that we'v both had! but she was having problems breathing as they were playing games and running bout mum shouldn't have really done it but she did! lol

well they'v both made it home and i think they'v gone to bed! lol put monsteroo in bed at 7:10! (by time finished getting sorted out and everything!) his uniform is out on his table in his room! (just got to find his pants out the washing bags which got! lol) his PE kit is packed his lunch box is done and his juice bottle for the class room is sorted! so all we'v got to do tomorrow is GET UP! (prob the hardest thing! lol) get dressed have breakfast and out the house for 8:30! ... this is goin to be HARDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol :)

DoppleMe

haha! yeh the uniforms lol i find it a lot easier to get uniforms sorted out than i do his everyday clothes! lol ok i know the reason why for that lol cuz uniform is set clothes school jumper, shirt/polo tshirt and trousers/shorts! were-as everyday clothes you want to get things that go together really and with uniforms you can get 2 days wear out of them (if they don't jump in the muddy puddles!!) and with every day clothes you tend to wear it one day and then something else the next day! lol I would love it if he could be one of the kids that chose what ever he wants to wear and when ever he wants to wear it! lol but if i say to him chose what you want to wear today, he dosen't even bother openin his draws to get clothes out! even if i'm there and opened his draws and say come here then which tshirt do you want to wear?? he still wont be able to chose! if i pull 2 tshirts out he'll go eeny meeny miney mo! and about an hr later he would have worked out what he wants to wear! lol .. my mum's got photos of me at 2 putting my miss match clothes on! lol (yeh ok i was a cleaver girl back then lol!!!)

but any ways! lol it's all fun and i'm sure he'll start chosing what he wants to wear when he wants to wear it at some point in his life! ... if not i can see him at 14 and his mummy still saying this is what your goin to wear today! (which judging by the looks of the teenagers round here wont actually be a bad thing! LMAO!) :)

i'm off to bed at 1/2 past! monsteroo has just woke up sayin he's hungry so he's had a biscuite and a glass of milk! and has now gone back up to bed (with a little bribe!) as he wanted to go in to my bed which i was like no it's a school night you have to go to your bed! ... but i don't want to ETC!!! ... so told him if he gose back in to his bed i'll wright him a little note to his teacher to say that he is aloud to walk round at the end of school to meet me! (the fact that i'd just written that note he dosen't need to know! lol) but yes he wants to walk round to meet me in the main area rather than me go round to there waiting area and collect him from there! lol ... as he puts it ... "I'm a big boy now mummy!"

Evening :) well i actually woke up at 6:58 (yes that annoying moment BEFORE the alarm!) and was WIDE awake! :D felt so FRESH and bright eyed it was just such a strange feelin that i'v not felt for such a long time! lol Then also realised that monsteroo wasn't in my bed! :D :0 !! so i popped down to the toilet and sorted a few things out found me clothes out the bag and got dressed, then decided to leave him in bed till half past 7 to give him that bit longer! so played on my DS for a little bit then at 7:30 went in to him and soon as i opened his door i hear a little voice ... mummy i slept in bed all night :) can i have walk around letter now please! haha! bless him (walk around letter is to say he's aloud to walk around from his classroom to the gates by him self!!!! (the fact that about an hr later i got a text message from school (well we all did!) to say that reception children will be walked round by there teachers is a different matter! haha!)) but all this excitement we managed to make it to school and on time! :D When i walked up at dinner time i saw a fair few children that wernt at school today! all seem to be happy and playing outside on there bikes and what ever else! lol we'v got a split starting back date in ashby this week, primary schools went back today and get an extra day off at start of summer hols and secondry schools go back tomorrow! as they'v had the day off in lue from the wedding! and primary schools have decided to go back and have it off later!!!!

so got him to school on time this morning, i made it to work and everything went well there! am inside this 3day week! hehe (got thrus off teachers training day!) so am in Hall sorting dinners and what not's out! lol and then it was time to come home did me ironin while watching 60min makeover! and then it was time to pick the monster up! lol came home and did his reading which he seems to have forgotten how to do lol but he will pick it up again! and thats been it really today! :) had tea monsteroo went and helped water the garden and then it was bed time!

so he's all tucked up in bed parents have gone out for a couple hrs and i'm sat here being me! :) hehe!

hope every one elses day has gone pretty well too :)

yup it was a very good day today! he was VERY tired at end of school and was draggin and tryin his hardest to dig his heals in on the way home but we got here in the end! lol

I'v just watched that Fast Food babies on TV and OMG! it was an eye opener and a half! 19mnth olds on chips, kerbabs, 6 cans of coke a day???? consuming 3000+ calaires scarey! I know that i went thru a stage of him not eating anything i cooked so it was a case of buyin in and giving him what he wanted but i managed to stop all that, and to look at our diet now it's totally different! and i'm VERY thankfull that what my son dose eat, he enjoys! he had veg fingers boiled potatoes carrots and salad for tea and he wolfed it down! tomorrow he's got free range FRESH hand made egg mayo cob, fruit, juice, cheesey dunker pot, and his weds treat a pack of hula hoops! for him to enjoy in his lunch box tomorrow!! He's got a basket from easter which has 5 easter eggs in it! he's eaten 2 since easter and thats his basket for when ever he wants to dive in! .... looks like i'v got to find some cup cake recipies and start useing the chocolate up that way! haha!

ah well! actually am glad i'v seen it as it's shown me how healthy his diet is and how well he actually eats which is what i should be thankfull about at the end of the day! :)

I didn't see that.  That's awful though, isn't it!!

Hi hatz

Glad the day went well with you. Did not see that programme but I remember a couple of years ago there was a newspaper feature about a mum who was feeding her newly-weaned baby on burgers. I suppose it is all about giving them different tastes and textures, not just mashed up fruit and veg but I think I would exclude fast food stuff from their diets as long as possible! When mine were tiny, a "family member" with children the same age used to feed her tots mini Pot Noodles.

Fizzy drinks, My youngest is awful for those, I keep plenty of fruit and barley squash in the house, he just has that as well, and not INSTEAD

i was a real eye opener i have to say! and i'm still shocked about it now! my friend commented on my fb page that she was worried about me givin my son a cup of tea! which i turned round to her and said that i'v grown up drinkin tea from about a yr old, my mum's grown up drinknig tea from before that and were both fine! plus she's the one that feeds her children on macdonalds, chicken nugets, there's no fresh fruit in her house, don't think there's even any caned fruit, no salad stuff just 90% chicken and 10% crisps, chocolate, and what ever else comes under that catagorey! for there breakfast they get either a cerial crispy bar bottle of juice and a hand full of jelly sweets or a slice of toast a bottle of just and a handfull of jelly sweets! ???? and she gose on at me for givin my son a cup of tea!!???? my son's only ever once been in mcdonalds (sorry actually twice!!!!) once for the toilet and once cuz my brother had him and he was hungry so they went to mcdonalds for some chips my son looked at the chips sat there like he dose and watched my brother eat his food then my son took a chip ate it and said he didn't like them! hahahahahaha! :D (good on him!!!) The only time i'v been in there is on the odd occasion that i'v been with other people bringing me home and what ever so we'v popped in and i have to say that the food is disgusting! and after i ate it i was full for like half hr and then i was hungry again! so i don't go in there and i don't see there food as being at all healthy or anything you should give to a child of any age!

As for that news paper article it reminded me of something my midwife once talked about when we were doin the weaning classes! she went to someone's house to do check ups on the baby and she found them there with the baby and some sort of brown mixture in his bottle! she questioned it and they turned to her and said well we were having problems filing him up so we went to macdonalds and brought a burger, wizzed it up mixed it with his milk and cut the top of the bottle a bit so he could drink it!!!! ... least they used there lodig a little bit and did put his milk in to make it a bit runnier!!!!!!! but seeing what they'd done she let them off lightly and said yes, BUT!!!!!! and showed them that it wasn't right to give there son that but if he really is hungry you can give him this instead!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and showed them what they should be giving him!!!! she never reported it and kept a good eye on them and how they were doing from then on!!!!

any ways i'v got to get ready for work! inside the hall where there is nice healthy food always on offer! :D hehe! :D chat laters x

Hi hatz, I saw that programme last night for the briefest of moments, ugh, it was a toddler in a high chair with their plastic plate full of chips from the chip shop, even my daughter commented on how terrible that was.

A lot of people don't know any better, unhealthy eating can run through generations and I think it is good that they show programmes like this, I hope that people who do feed their families poorly actually watch them and learn.

I hope your day was good :)

i think it's a brill thing that they were showing it  and think they should show them more often and not just a one off! it's truley an eye opener, and as you said Anna there's loads of people that just don't have a clue about what they are feeding there children, and actually don't know how easy it is to whip up a quick healthy meal.

i do think that there should be more help out there for new parents no matter how old or young they are and give them a helping line on what they can easily feed there children and how to bring them up on a healthy diet and what's right to feed there children and what's not, cuz there is so many young children being brought up on junk food that were goin to have a VERY unhealthy country in time to come.

but there we go! least there's a few of us that do feed our children on the right things and help them in the genral health later in life.

Hear hear THERE SHOULD BE MORE HELP OUT THERE FOR PARENTS! Forgive me for shouting Embarassed but sometimes parents with little or no family support and who have never been taught about healthy food are just thrown in at the deep end. I have noticed that children tend to learn about healthy food at school these days so I hope the next generation of parents wiill have some knowledge to tap into. I hope so!!!

In the meantime, although I know that you are our star chef, hatz, Wink I am posting a link to our article Healthy eating on a budget for anyone who is interested

lol popped another yummy addition on the food page! lol

well had enougth of monsteroo today! he's done nothing but play me up :( so he ended up in bed straight after a very stressfull tea! :( so we'v not really had a good day today, really need school to start up properly to get him back to normal! altho this morning he did give me one nice HUGE lie in!!! my alarm went off at 7am but as he wasn't in my bed i switched it off and turned back over thinking he was still asleep! lol i woke back up at 8 and he came in to my room at 8:10 so i thought he'd just come from his room and said WOW you'v been asleep for a long time haven't you? he said yes i know! then when i came down stairs my mum said that he's had a cup of tea but no breakfast yet, which confused me a little bit! but it figured out that he was up at 7 and instead of coming in to me went in to my mum! then they both got up ata 7:15 as needed the loo and so they'd just stayed down stairs! lol but gave me the lie in! ahhh! lol

but as i say we'v had a stressfull day with him today :( for some reason he didn't want his dinner so i took it off him and gave him 2 crackers with some butter on and a dunker with a glass of orange and when he'd finished that he was up and in bed! ... was only 1/2 hr earlier but he still kicked up a storm! got him in to his pj's and read him a story and i think about 5 mins later he was actually asleep! which was a big releif for me as i don't think i could have managed an uproar and having to rutern him to bed every 5seconds like it has been known before! but there we go!

time to relax now :) altho think there's a storm on it's way! ... to be honest i'v been expecting the rain all day today! lol the sky's full and really heavey so i brought the washing in off the line and didn't hang the next lot out as we were goin out and thought don't want it to rain on it! so we went out for 4hrs and it didn't rain! came home and preped tea, still no rain! ate tea and put monster in bed, still no rain! sat here now and STILL NO RAIN! lol but it's coming! lol hopefully a huge down poor in the night so the morning is really fresh! :)

any ways i'v rambled on for a long time now! got to get some stuff back on ebay and sort some things out here! so will pop back later some point :)

well it's been weired the past couple of days now! lol really grey heavey clouds and no rain! altho today we had 4 spots LITTUALLY! that landed on my arm, thought good job the banks just opened and dived inside and came out 20mins later and it was still bone dry! so confusing! lol but still no rain today!! we've been told for the weekend so will just watch this space i guess! lol

had a better day today but by heck it was busy at lunch time! lol friday is chip day so pretty much 90% of the school is on dinners! and we end up using 4 tables for dinners and 2 for sandwhiches! plus it was gettin hot so not only were we having to run the trays back to the hatch to be washed, as well as the forks and knives we were also havin to run water jugs to and from the hatch to be filled up again as the kids were very thirsty indeed then at 1pm we had a surge of about 10 kids comin in askin for a drink of water so we ended up puttin 20odd cups back out on the hatch 3 water jugs just so we could get on and clean the hall and put away all the stuff else we'd never get done! lol finely finished at 1:15 which wasn't too bad really but was VERY rushed indeed! I then went on to do my wiggly readers which was fun :) love that time! lol altho when i took all the books back to the classroom at 3pm and said i finished there was about 5 children that said but you'v  not heard me read today, i was like nope i'v only done the ones that haven't read this week! but i'v not read, and i'v not read, yes you have, you read on wednesday with his mum! nooooo! ... look at the list!!!!!!!! lol and i pretty much ran out the classroom (after putting the book bags out on the table! lol) :) i went back to the library and asked the other lady if she wanted me to listen to one of her last ones as she had 2 left so i listened to one from her group so she was able to finish her group off too! :) Then got out exactly the same time as my son did which was good! walked home and made a really big strawberry milkshake for him as he kept saying he was thirsty! lol

well they had class photos today! :) so should be seeing them at the end of the month or next month see how they turn out lol ... not like how we use to have them! they do individual ones just before xmas and then class ones now!??? we use to have them done at the same time as that was we use to get a nice class photo and an individual one on the side but there we go! lol things always change!

well i checked on my bank account today and i can pay a bit more off towards my holiday, was getting slightly worried as i'v got £200 left to pay and need to pay it by 23rd this month and i was there thinkin i didn't have enought so checked what i'v got and i can pay £70 off which leaves me with a little bit to play with too! then i'm just goin to keep chucking bits in every now and then, can pay as little as £5 at a time so if i just keep chucking bits in at it i should be able to do it! if not i'll have to phone them and say i can get the rest 5 days later PLEASE can you wait tll then! lol!

you never know!!!

any ways in need of the loo now! lol chat laters x

i'v had a really pants day :( been so horible! he's been in a foul and annoyin mood today which don't help at all! and so it's put me in a really foul mood too :( and i'm glad he's now in bed! he ended up with a smack bum this morning as he kept jumping about and nearly landed his foot 5 times in my mum's cup of tea! then he kept chuckin his kooshie ball (the one's that are made up of lots of rubber strands!) so i'v just had enought, he's been told many times today to sort his behaviour out and by the end of the day it's been RIGHT! this is the deal ... sort your self out or no party tomorrow! so he's ended up in bed in a mood but he's asleep at least! lol

well as i just said he's got a firends party tomorrow! first one he's been invited to from school so hopefully he will be good there! and he'd best be on his best behaviour up untill that point or i'll be textin thru to say he can't come! (or at least telling him that!!)

woke up and it had rained in the night, was raining when we woke up and was till about 10/11am then it eased off and eventually stopped! so at 12:30 we walked in to town and wondered round for an hr or so, brought a few bits and jumped on the bus home! did washin up and hovered round and then watched Bee Movie and Wall.E off the box and then it was time to get tea sorted out! (well at least start it! lol) mum came home with shopping so helped sort her out with that and putting it all away and everything.

so i'v had a really boring and annoyin day today :( so hope that tomorrow will be a lot better and easier for us both!

Hi hatz

We all get days like that where nothing seems to go right and there is not much of interest, I suppose I always think of them as a chance to recharge my batteries but it sounds as if monsteroo's batteries were pretty fully charged anyway!

Might be worth thinking about whether there was a different way you could have handled him yesterday that would not result in a smack (somehow a smack is when it has escalated and you reach the end of your tether). I was wondering whether you ever use the FIRST THEN method. In the case of what was happening yesterday it could have been "First you need to sit down away from Nanna's tea and then you can have your juice" or "First you must give me your kooshie ball and then we will talk about what we will play today" Notice that the thing you ask them to do has to be phrased positively and not negatively, so I didn't suggest "First you must stop jumping around..."

This method works very well, as long as you stay CALM and it takes a bit of getting your head round what phrases to use to make it positive, but definitely worth a try. Anyway hope you all have a better day today and he enjoys his party Smile

i feel like screamin all ready! :( he's got to me again and just not listening to me, step dad told him to watch the green curtain on the floor and he was there lookin all over the palce for it, so i said it's there by the bath room can you bring it to me out the way and so he picks it up and opens the toilet room door to give it to his grandad! :S so i called him, and called him.... and called him about 4 times but he still wasn't listening to me Yell he's really got his death head on him today :(

i sure do hope this changes before 3pm i'll catch you's later, i'v sent him up to get dressed but by sounds of things parents arn't helping and messin about with him :( i know there prob tryin to cheere him up and make him laugh or what ever but i want him to get dressed!

i know it's not right to give them a smack and when i say i'v done it i just mean it's been a tap on the bottom or hand not a mega whack! xx

and he's now gone out! WOW! silance for a couple hrs! parents taken him out to the work shop to give us a break! ... altho we did make up before he went out! lol after i posted the last message and he came back down stairs (dressed!) i turned to him and said RIGHT MR! talk time! and sat him on my knee and said look i'm sorry for this morning, you know i love you to bits but you'v just gone a bit too far this weekend and i don't know what to do with you! he turns round to me and said that he was sorry (with out being prompted!) so i think he knew he'd gone too far with me! :) so yes now he's gone out with the parents and i when i came back inside i sat down for 5 mins in total silance! :D WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can put my finger down on what it is that's got him like this and that's the time off school. Easter break and then having the odd day off on Thursday and back in on the friday and then the weekend! He really NEEDS rutten that dosen't change in his life ... and they (health visitors!) say he's not Autistic! I know that most children don't cope when things get changed but when it comes to my son if things get change it dose end up with a very stressfull situation where neither of us cope! it's not just the change in plans that can set him off! it's other things too like he gets stuck in to things ... which is great ... but when it gose past the being stuck in to it and in to the obsesive side of life and he gets too fixedated, you just cant pull him away or get his attention, and you can see it in his eyes when he's gone that far, his eyes get so fixed on something that you just cant snap him out of it! (haha just watching something for the weekend and Tim's beatin a beice of meat till it's flat and i'm soooo thinkin right now that's what i need! haha!!!!!!!!) but yes any ways they say he isn't Autistic/Aspergus but yet at time's it screams out so much!

well i'v got to get on and do the washin up and tidy the bathroom back up! but least he's of my hands for a bit! and i'm hungry! lol so goin to head off for a bit in a better mood at least! :D

i'm sure he'll be 5 on his next birthday but it seems as tho he's hitting the terrible, terrible teens :( he's back chatting, shouting, arguing, screaming, grunting, shouting OK! at the times when i ask him to do something Yell it's scarey and i don't like it, but at the same time i don't know how to get him back to this good little boy that i love so much, it's breaking my heart to say the least :'( i feel astho i'v lost him totally all i get from him is a grunt, a huge sigh, or just being shouted at :'( how much more can this attitued go on for?????? I ask him if he acts like that to his teacher and he said No, which i really hope he dosen't cuz it would mean him getting a red card (the bad one!) and i really don't want him to end up with one of them as that would break my heart a lot more :( I'm goin to have a chat to his teacher when i see her tomorrow just to say that i'm having problems with him at home and to ask if he's acting up at school.

Awwwh hatz, its hard isnt it when they act like a teen at a very young age. How about trying the no reaction no satisfaction, how this works is, if you ask your son to do something and he grunts, shouts etc, just completely ignore him, it is a really hard thing to do but the one thing I have learned from having 5 children is they really dont like to be ignored, if he does whatever it is you have asked him to do then heaps of praise and a very small treat, that can be a little sweet or a 5 min extra tv, nothing big.

You are not on your own, we all go through this and it is so hard but you can change the negative into a positive.

If when your son shouts etc you can also just carry on doing whatever it is you are doing and ignore him, if he asks you why are you not talking to me mummy, then explain to him that you love him but you dont like the way he is behaving, that way he will associate the silent treatment to mummy not liking what he is doing, it is so much better than shouting back which only stresses us out too doesnt it.

It will take a little practise but it does work xxx

Hope it helps to know you are not the only mummy this happens to xxx

I agree that Ignoring/Praise is very effective, hatz.  Click the blue link to see an article from our Parenting Section.

The "First....then" that I mentioned in my post fuirther up is also very effective as long as you stay calm and don't let him see it is winding you up Wink

We all need to help each other along from time to time so you are never alone with your worries Smile

when he shouts at me i tend just to say Excuse me! and he dose say it again but with out shouting!

I'm likin the silent treatment! done it a few times and he keeps goin and goin til it really dose get to me and i'm there like STOP IT NOW! lol so it's goin to take some getting use to for him!

it's not only all that but he's practising face pulling too (ok some of his faces do crack me up which prob isn't the best thing when he's shouting at you and then pulls a face!) but when it's one that's not quiet how you'd prob do it and he's tryin to work out how it's done and looks funny! lol just cant help it sometimes!

today i'm just glad when it came round to 7pm and was his bed time! I had a talk to him told him that i didn't like what he was doing at the moment and said that i would like my good little boy back, sooner rather than later. I know that you'r probably a bit mixed up at the moment or feeling a bit different with being nearly 5, but you'v just got to try and help me and behaive like the good boy i know you are... then i trailed off in to finding this good boy just so we could have a little bit of a laugh after a good talk! ... so as i got him changed for bed i kept goin up his body sayin is the good boy here? looked at his feet, is he here??? and tickling his ticklish spots! then when i reached his heart i traced the outline of a heart on his chest and said i know where that good boy is, he's hiding in here, in your heart as he knows that's the best place to be. This is the place that mummy loves and that's where the good little boy is! gave him a HUGE hug and squeeze and tucked him up in bed with his favirote book!

so i hope in the morning he'll be wide awake and one HUGE good boy! ... altho i have to say the mornings are usely fine! so we shall see what happends.

Thanks :)

there was one point i looked in his eyes and he looked so lost in what he was doin i was lost with in him so it was much needed bless him x

i should think myself lucky really, i'v never had any problems with him, we flew thru the years and milestones, no probs with teeth, no probs with the 2yr stage, no probs with toilet training, no probs with getting out of the sleepin in the day stage, so i have had it easy on that side of life ... uptill now! i don't know if there's anything that's happend that he's reacting to either at school or if he's seen something in the house that he's taken the wrong way? as in my parents messin bout and he's seen it in a different light??? (if that makes sence) or weather anythings cracked off at school? but if i ask his teacher (like i have done in the past about things) she just stands there for a few mins as if to say how do i answer this with out saying that... it's more of a well like most children .. or it's

end-of-term-itus! so i don't get a direct answer from her really, But still goin to ask her and at least just to put my mind at ease that he's not acting up at school like he has been doin with me!

Hatz, they do all go through stages like this, I am on my 5th turn lol, I really wouldnt worry too much about it, try the silent treatment next time it happens and see if that helps, its really hard though isnt it when they pull the funniest face just when they have been naughty, I always had to bite my lip to stop myself from smiling or turn away for a few minsLaughing

Little ones do get very tired towards half term too so possibly your son is getting ready for that and dont forget we have had a fair few days holidays for Easter and the Royal wedding so maybe he is just settling back into "school" routine xxx

well i really am hopin that it's just the start back to school and he's messed up in his ruteen and everything. He did do as he was told this morning (other than when it came to get dressed!) i asked him to take his PJ'S off and he stood there then dropped on the floor moanin so i said to him i'm only asking you one more time please can you take your pjs off, and then i went silent and just stood there lookin at his wardrobe (behind him) then after about 3 mins VERY slowly he took them off! I then got him dressed!

I asked him to get his shoes on while i went and brushed my hair and he suprised me as he actually got them on and on the right feet AND! he put his back pack on too! :D so i turned to him and said Thank you for getting your shoes AND your back pack on, that was a VERY good boy :) well done! :) and then we walked up to school, only had to tell him once to stop pulling down on my arm and once to catch up (not that i was walking fast he'd just decided to go really slow! lol) but we made it to school on a VERY happy note this morning! :D

on another note! i let my cat out this morning so she could go to the toilet and what not! then when it was time to go i opened the door and was confronted with another cat that i couldn't quiet work out if it was my Trinny cat or not! so i stood there as this cat was on our bins talkin away to it sayin where's your collor gone? i only let you out 20mins ago and you'v lost it all ready! (as if they'd give you an answer! haha) and i stroked this other cat gave it some fuss, but at the same time i was questioning weather it was my cat or not!? it was so alike! my cat then popped her head round the corner of the house and i was like, your NOT my cat! who are you then! the only differance i could come up with was that this other cat was had more gold in it! were-as mine's a brown tabby this other one was gold tabby! and other than that it was EXACTLY the same! :O so i'v gone from losing my cat to getting her back along with a twin! haha! (not that the twin is mine nor that i'm keeping it! lol it was just there on our door step! hopefully it's gone back off to it's parents now!)

nah i cant take in any more cats! lol we'v got 2 as it is! my cat trinny and my step dad's cat sam! lol what with all the rabbits we'v got and birds lol

well we'v had a good afternoon with bambam! :D he's actually come home and been in a really good mood :) WOW! lol did get worried at dinner when his teacher did tell me that she'd told him off, as he came cryin to me at the end of lunch i took him over to her and she'd then said that it was cuz she's just told him off! so i left him too it! .... when i saw her at the end of the day i said i wanted to snatch 5 mins of her time so could talk to her and just said that i'm having a terible time with him at home at the moment and told her a few things that has happend and everything goin on and then said with what she said at dinner time i was extreamly worried that he was doin it in school too! but she said no, he's doin ok in school, he got told off cuz him and another child have a thing about the front of the line and so she told them both to go away!!!! so that put my mind at ease! told her that it's felt like i'v had a really bad teenager at home this weekend and that on saturday my parents had to take him off my hands cuz i felt like i could have throttled him! she said sometimes that's what's needed ... i turned to her and said it was an hr after we'd got out of bed! and she was like OH DEAR! lol so she realised how much of a pain he's been this weekend and put my mind at ease that he's not at least doing it in school!!!! PHEW!!!!!!!!!!! i don't think i could cope if he got a red card! (i don't think he would either!!!)

when went to pick him up from school on the walk down the path i noticed one of the mums getting a wheel chair out of the car, and thought to myself i wonder who that's for as she dosen't have a child (it was a small chair!) that needs a wheel chair, she then picked up her son and i saw he's managed to break his leg over the Easter break! ... but then i realised that i'd not seen him in school recently! lol funny how you don't miss some people till you see them out of school! lol bless him!

well i'm goin to get goin ... managed to sprain my ankle and tear some ligiments/tendans today! the school field has dried up and the lovely children have started to pick at some of the patches where it's cracked and i managed to find one of these patches and went over on my ankle :( thankfully i didn't land on the floor but by heck it didn't half hurt! not done that in a long time so to do it again now OUCHIES!!!!!!!!!! i'v got it strapped up and did tell my son's teacher that if she's up there to be carefully that she don't do the same! lol

Hi hatz, how is your foot today? hope an overnight rest has helped.

Many times children behave Ok at school and reserve their worst for US, their parents. If you can identify a specific bahviour you would like him to change (rather than just "being good") you could use a sticker/star chart at home but it does have to be specific, such as get ready for school on time in the morning, or behave at the tea table, whatever you think would make some difference.

Hi hatz. Just had a chance to catch up on some posts. Wow!! I so can sympathise with you about your son's behaviour. C changed too when he started school, he went through a phase of being so cheeky, which I'd never had before he went to school! It was a total shock to my system I can tell you. I actually thought someone had kidnapped my son and sent a monster to me hehe. His behaviour at school was totally different, an absolute angel, and he still is there, but at home, some days, it is awful. Sometimes to the point where I could cry (and have). I do the first and then method that Louise recommends, and also the silent treatment. I actually think it's related to the strict discipline at school, and then when they get home, they let off steam, and of course that steam is directed at us!!! Once holidays come around, give a few days, and C's behaviour changes again, (for the better). I always say, it's like I have my C back, and he's mine again for a week or so before they return to school.

I'm glad you had a better day yesterday with him. How's your foot? C fell off his swing last Friday, and as he was still complaining about it, I took him to A and E yesterday. X-ray revealed he has pulled a ligament too. (Hasn't stopped him using his mouth though)lol. Hope this morning runs smoothly again for you and the little fella. It's always nice to know, I think, that you're not the only one that is going through something, and your child isn't the only one playing up at home etc. xx
