...well he is 14! Hope you managed to get to the gym anyway, sparkling

Oh PQ, an encampment in the lounge, you will certainly be ready for a few child-free days!

There is a new chap at church who is from the Scottish Highlands, he has invited a few of us round to his flat, his mum has taught him to cook haggis!!! I have put the date in my diary Smile

That sounds rather different Louise.

My halo is sparkling.  I went to the gym alone.  It was very quiet, but those who were there were very fit.  I went home after 40 mintues...  Innocent

No leaves left on the trees.  Not that I can see them now its dark outside.

Finishing after 4.30pm this week will be hard, knowing it will be dark so early.  I don't like working full time when there's holidays.  It's not that I'm afraid of work, I'm not.  I just know that really I also need to be here with the 17 year old...

Are you child free now PQ, hope the rest of your Sunday went well.

Rather you than me Louise, have you seen what they put in haggis!!!

Hope everyone has a good day.

Morning,

Very blowy here. I've just arrived at work to find a pane of glass missing from the window next to my desk! Wonder how long it will take estates to come and fix that??

Took girls to my parents yesterday so I'm home alone. Last night I moped about a bit as I always struggle when they're not here, watched breakfast at Tiffanys, which I love. Got lots of plans to catch up with friends all week so that will be fun. Also my friend from Spain said he might pop over for a few days.

I've never had Haggis Louise, you'll have to let us know what its like.

Sparkling, you're so good to get motivated and go to the gym. Does the treadmill still make your arms hurt?

I love going to the gym.  It's routine again now.  I used to train loads until I was six months pregnant with my third, then the place I went closed, and The Git would never babysit for me to go...  It's good to feel the need to go.  Sorry, I know I sound so big-headed.

My arms still hurt on the treadmill, and the pain isn't any less when I move about, but I know I'm fitter.  The best part is that my puffy feet are no longer puffy.  Ankles yet to go down though...

Hope you're friend gets over from Spain pq, and I hope that window got sorted...

Hello everyone, hope you have all been ok in the stormy weather. I went to a play pub with my friend's grandson(and friend!) He is 5 and very lively and ended the trip with a blue candy floss the size of his head. As I visited the couple with the baby girl yesterday I feel there have been a lot of small children around the last couple of days.

Sparkling you are not big-headed at all,it is lovely to see you feeling motivated and looking forward to going to the gym, I know your disabilities leave you really fed up so it's great to hear things are improving and you feeling more positive, even if in pratical terms things are a challenge.

PQ ooh not the time of year to sit by a broken window. Hope you enjoy your child-free days, I agree it does seem weird when they are not there. Are you having some different meals as well?

Sally how has your day been? yes haggis is certainly an acquired taste, I will only have a little taste of it.

Had my hair cut today, I am always glad to get it tidied up. Son is at work till 10. Eldest seems to be getting on very well with The Girl and is probably coming next weekend.

Have a good evening everyone and stay warm.

I had a good evening. Had a very long chat with a friend on the phone and tried to catch up with strictly, still not seen who got knocked out yet, so please no spoilers!! Cooked myself some salmon last night, wrapped it in a filo parcel with some spinach and thyme, it was yummy Cool. Its good to experiment with things the girls wont eat when they're away. Going to my neighbours for dinner tonight which will be nice, then tomorrow I'm out to another friends for dinner so got lots to do. Still not sure if my friend from spain is going to make it over this week. Tomorrow is also the funeral for my friend that died recently, really not looking forward to that, especially as I'm going on my own.

Louise, I also love your new avatar. My hair is very short now so should probably spend some time and change mine too.

Enjoy your day everyone

Morning everyone, hope you are well

What movie did you choose, Sally? I love those cosy nights, we had a Blackadder night once, each person could choose their favourite ever episode from all the series and we got a Chinese. I chose the one where they are in the trenches and have to put on a music hall show.

PQ no I won't tell you anyting about Strictly, just that I am really enjoying the series. Have you ever seen the programme on BBC2 at 6.30 each evening? it is called It Takes Two and is all the behind the scenes gossip. Yum, I like your recipe for salmon, my youngest hates salmon so I only have it when he is out. Did you have a nice time with your neighbour?

Yesterday, I had two new counselling clients though one did not turn up so I have made a new appointment for them, I also had to take my friend to a medical appointment and phone the TV company as there is something wrong with my digi-box. Meeting a friend for posh coffee this morning Smile

How is everyone today and what have you been up to?

Love the new avatar sally.

Had a lovely evening with my neighbour, it appears they have a mouse infestation which may be what I could hear in the loft rather than a Glis Glis. Since they have put poison down I haven't heard anything so hopefully that will be the end of it all.

Feeling in a very reflective mood today, its the funeral later Cry

PQ I do hope the funeral will be a positive and supportive time for you, and that you will feel more at peace about your friend's death once you have been, take it steady this evening too as these things can be very draining. And on a completely different note, I hope your neighbour has solved the problem of your little intruders.

Nice to see you back keira, what have you been doing over half term? I'm down in the South West and the weather has been on the cooler side but it has been dry today Smile

Big Hug PQ, i hope your able to get some enjoyment from your dinner out tonight.

We watched a Ducktails Movie, youngests choice!! It was nice to snuggle up with our blankets. Hope you enjoyed your coffee Louise, what are you doing this evening?

Were doing a bit of a girly night tonight, painting our nails Smile

I always feel jealous when you all talk about your girly nights, as I have boys. Mind you, youngest still loves a foot massage.

I spent yesterday evening putting a colour on my hair, just to hide the very slight tinges of distinguished and intelligent grey....who am I kidding? let's be honest, the white bits CoolYoungest is very excited because it looks like he may be able to transfer to a job in Security at Asda, which is what he applied for in the first place two years ago and I can just see him striding around in his black uniform. The hours seem like a combo of earlies and lates, which is good as he was up at 4.15 am every day with the Home Shopping and nowadays on Groceries he works till 10pm. He has realised he prefers to get up early, get the work done then have some free time but earlies on this job are not quite so early so even better and a couple of days he can have a lie-in. Eldest will be here for the weekend so thinking about food for that.

How is everyone today? what are you up to?

Hi everyone,

The funeral yesterday was quite harrowing, seeing the 2 little children clinging to their dad was so sad. I found the whole thing very draining, but today I feel more settled about it all. Had a lovely meal with my friend, she cooked a thai green curry, which was delicious. I have really missed my girls this week and can't wait to pick them up tomorrow. Tonight I'm going to visit another neighbour of mine for a glass of wine and will try to avoid the trick or treaters. Although I have bought a bucket of sweets just in case!

I hope the transfer goes ahead for your son Louise, it will be a good reward for him having stuck out the other roles for all that time.

Hi Kiera, hope you're having a good half term.

Hi everyone i hope you have all had a good day.

I'm glad your feeling more settled today PQ, hope you enjoy tonight, when are your girls due back?

keira, sorry to hear about your son, if your son keeps fitting they might have to change the medication that they are giving him.  You could keep a diary to see if you can find any patterns to what is triggering his seizures, so you know what to avoid.  The holiday sounds great.

Thats nice that your youngest is coming for the weekend Louise, i'm sure you'll have a good time, Fingers crossed that youngest gets his transfer, have you come up with your weekend menu?

I'm off work now for a few day's "yippee", going to be doing a few things with my lot and catch up with family and friends.

Hope you all have a good weekend Smile

Morning everyone, how are you?

Sounds like the funeral was right and proper, PQ, it is good to commemorate people and then for those who are not the closest, it is time to take up the reins of life once more. Very very hard for her children, of course, and will affect them for a very long time. Glad that you have had some nice times since and hopefully the girls have had fun with your parents. Just a little word (*whispers*) when they come back, of course you will be delighted to see them but often what happens with children is a short period of bad behaviour as they settle in, my experience is that children of all ages do this and I even seem to remember that you have experienced this once with yours already so anyway don't be surprised or worried if it does Wink

Hi kiera, just been chatting to you on your thread about your son, and also some suggestions for your little girl. The holiday sounds fab and you have several months to save up the rest of the money, start doing this now and you can take it in your stride.

Got some beef to do a roast dinner for eldetst when he comes Laughing My friend who has a jewellery business is hosting a charity event so am going to drop in and get a couple of bits for the unmentionable festival that takes place on December 25th, heh heh. Meeting a couple of friends for posh coffee later today, hurray.

Hope everyone will have a good day, and enjoy your weekend, Sally!

Hi louise, I was thinking about that this morning. I have really missed the girls this week and can't wait to pick them up later today but I am aware that things don't always go well in the first few days after they get home.

My friend didn't make it over from spain, but I had a long chat with him via skype last night. He should be coming to the uk at the end of next week, so hopefully we'll be able to spend some time together then.

I still don't know if the girls are going out with their dad tomorrow. This is all getting a bit ridiculous. It seems to me that he is always waiting to see if he gets a better offer...grrr!

Does your friend make her own jewelery Louise. I love original jewelery I would be in my element, but would probably end up buying myself more presents than for anyone elseUndecided!

Hi all. Hope you all enjoyed Halloween! Has been a quiet holiday, which is lovely. Hoping to get tickets for a firework display tomorrow, but think I've left it too late! Started. Christmas shopping this week (online) so I feel a bit more organized than last year anyway.

Hope you're all okay. Back to work next week, and lots more pressure on us, no extra money though of course!! C is great, and have enjoyed the hols with him.

Glad you've had a good half term hazeleyes. I've really missed my girls this week. I've enjoyed being able to catch up with my friends and relax a bit but the house is so quiet without them. Hope I still feel like that by sunday!!
