Hello and welcome to the May thread! Smile (it doesn't look like May outside Cry)

Sparkling, things were bound to be difficult, the time between a death and the funeral is one of the most stressful time, I am so glad that your new colleague is being supportive and we are all thinking of you.

Hopeful, one thing I can say from my own experience is that the more presentations you do, the easier it gets. Speak slowly, know your topic and make eye contact with the audience, those are my tips to pass on,

How is everyone doing today?

I don't really mind presentations, just these are like case studies and we don't want to kill our patient!

Apart from this mornings little No3 son episode I've had a really good day. Doing only bits in the morning, meeting in the afternoon, then friend brought all the ironing she'd done for me and blitzed my front room. Also talked me into going to aerobics with her tonight, so I'm off to there now.

Sending lots of love to all. Especially Sparkling!

A rubbish day for me. Teacher was in a foul mood, kids were like devils, and I was working all day. Stinking headache since lunchtime. C came out, the bully was really at him today, and apparantely the teacher had called the Mother in. This is all great, but I think they should also have informed me of what had happened. The teacher apologised to C, and I disagree with this. The boy should have been made to apologise. Am not in good place with school at the moment. Tomorrow is another day.

Good morning all.

Am determined to win against the inner pigdog today. Have to start on that new presentation. My reward will be a friend coming over for lunch.

Hope you enjoyed your tea, Louise, I had one as I walked in the door from the aerobics (which wasn't half as hard as I thought) with a piece of freshly made chocolate cake (just to defeat the point of all the exercise, ha!). My daughter is brilliant when she hasn't got a hormonal teenage moment!

Sparkling, still thinking of you loads. Wishing you a really peaceful day.

Hazeleyes, ditto. You deserve a day full of really compliant children and totally void of bullies.

LRH, hope you're feeling much better today, too.

Everybody else - enjoy what you're doing - even if you have to make a conscious decision that you will enjoy it! Was my tip for the day, so I'm trying! Smile

Not a bad day today. Brought C home with me at lunchtime as he has dental appointment. Was flabberghasted that his teacher still didn't approach me, I know from C that the boy has gone unpunished as he didn't have to miss a break this morning. If I've said it once, I've said it a million times, 'I just don't get it'. No school tomorrow, as they using the school for polling day. Have written a draft for the review, and asked my teacher to look at it with me next week. I still have to add a few things to it. Anyhow, he said we'd sit down and go through it, along with the other TA, as he also will have things to add. The boy's mother is rather challenging, and I disagree with a lot of things she is saying about her son, with regards to reading, but this is something I shall share with the teacher, as it's not down to me surely to bring it up in the meeting? I'll have to take that relaxing stuff I took when I  had the interview, and start banging my head on the table again!!! (Hope that has made you smile a bit Sparkling) Smile

That was a good tip Hopeful, for the day. Needed that for yesterday Wink

How's your week going Louise? Busy as usual no doubt. Any posh coffees??

Sparkling, I'm thinking of you all, and hoping tomorrow will go as well as it can do on these occassions. Hugs to you all. xxxx

My plans Louise? Well, I have the vacuum bags, so I'm going to sort through the airing cupboard, and get some single duvets and sheets packed away. Then I'm going through the wall cupboard in my room, and see how I can make some more space. Have lots of letters from rent/tax etc lying around, which seem to collect once a fortnight, so they really need 'throwing' somewhere. I have an awful lot to get through, and not enough hours in the day really. The alternative is just to relax with C on the WII games Wink (I won't, I promise) First things first, cup of tea hehe.

I know what Sparkling (sadly) is up to today, what's everyone else doing?

Yes, sparkling is very much in my thoughts.

Decluttering, hazleyes, to me it feels like a never ending job. Although now I have finally finished my bedroom I have to say it is a charming surprise to open my wardrobe, and there is a shelf with things on it IN NEAT PILES. I have got two underbed drawers that help a lot for that stuff that I just don't know how to cope with! One of the hardest things I ever did was to get rid of so many books. I had about five hundred, and donated about four hundred to a the local Theatre for a fundraising sale.It made a lot of room though!

Do you want to come over and do mine Louise. It's worse in here now than before I started (How can this be?) I emptied the entire wall cupboard, it looked luvvvvvly, then I got cracking on other stuff, and now the wall cupboard is full again Cry I haven't stopped all day, back is breaking from moving furniture. C is now moved back in biggest bedroom, which is good to be honest, as he has a lot of stuff! I need a bigger stepladder as I cannot reach the loft ladder on a normal chair, without really straining. Christmas trees and decs are in the wall cupboard, and really shouldn't be. If I could put shelves in there, it would be bliss, then a door or something to hide it all away. Recycling bin was emptied yesterday, and it is choc a block again! Oh well, I've made a start I guess. Shall do some more on Saturday, and defiantely have Sunday and Monday of doing zilch.

Not looking forward to school tomorrow. They have swimming, and the kids are an absolute nightmare when normal teacher isn't around. They're bad enough with him, but 20 times worse without!!

I'm sure your bedroom looks lovely Louise, you worked hard on that Smile

What a busy day! Was thinking of you though, Sparkling. Hugs again.

Had lecture (with other group, really annoying as it makes the groups too big, but a lecturer is off sick) - all about leadership & management (bring that on!) and transision into practice (scary). Then met with the group I do the presentations with, got sorted who does that, then met with personal tutor to help decide on a subject for my disertation - now that IS scary. Shall be writing about teamwork and the importance of good leadership (I'm good at leadership, just can't seem to lead the children effectively).

No2 son says exams was ok. Can't get more out of him.

No3 son was told yesterday he won't be able to go to college in September (don't know why; it's not his grades I'm sure), so tomorrow when I have no uni I'll ring connexions and set up an appointment with someone for advice. No3 son said he'd go to that after I said they'd know about ALL the possibilities that are open to him and there definitely would BE possibilities for him.

Daughter made cake for uni friend who's having her birthday on Sunday. That went down well.....

Going to see other friends now - why is everything always on the same day?

Everyone have a really relaxed & peaceful evening! x

Wow that was a busy day Hopeful.

Hope everyone is ok today.

Hazeleyes, I watched a programme last night about the ultimate decluttering, there was a man whose house was full of stuff from floor to ceiling, he could use his loo and kettle (the kettle was on top of the loo Surprised) and there was one chair he could get to. He had a few cats and they had used boxes all over the stack of stuff as toilets and you could not even get in most of the rooms. he was given help to get it all sorted and had to have psychotherapy too. So, what I am saying is that one or two scruffy cupboards are not at all worrying!!!!

The shopping channel. Well, I fell asleep on Thursday night with the TV on. Woke up, and flicked through channels, stopped at Bid TV, and saw what I'd had my eye on for a while. A Halogen Oven (thought my cooking might taste tastier in one)Cool I'm blissfully watching them cooking on the tv, then I'm reaching for my mobile to order one, ignoring the tv at this point, as it was turned down. Punched in my pin number, and there's a voice congratulating me on purchasing an egg something or other!!!!!!!! What??? Looked at the tv screen, and they are now selling this egg thingy, which i'm soon to be a proud owner of! I'd obviously fallen asleep when watching the halogen oven, thought I was buying it, and whoops. C thought it was hilarious in the morning when I told him. Hazleyes you are indeed a star with your endeavours. Don't tell C you could have used the shredded paper for hamster bedding Wink But I hope today will be an easier day for you. Hehe Sparkling, before I read that, I just knew you were going to say omelette. You'll all be laughing your socks off when my wonder machine comes, and I'll have the best omelettes going Laughing

On the agenda today, the living room is to be dusted, and hopefully the ironing. I wish there was somewhere to take C, but there isn't. Times like this, where you imagine other 'families' getting together and having a fun filled day. I know of course that I can make it fun for C just by playing, even on the WII, but that normally means I'm neglecting doing something in the flat (again), so it never seems to get completely done. Hmmmm, will have a think on this one. C won't be this age forever, where he wants me to play with him, so I guess that answers it. Fun day it is, or half a fun day anyway!

Hope you all have a good day. xx

Black clouds over head - and that was after they forecasted a dry weekend.  On my list I have see the District Sec (the District Commissioner as resigned with immediate effect as she's had promotion, living Scouting in a doo-doo mess really), cut grass, see MiL, see neighbour, hoover

I can see that the grass is just going to have to get longer.  It's the BBCs fault though!

I usually have a plain omelette. I like to have them well cooked though, rather than squidgy in the middle.  And they go flat as soon as they're out the pan.  With three of my children (youngest won't touch them) I put ham, or cheese, or both, or veg in.  My daughter and I quite enjoy fried onions and then pour the egg mixture over them.  Yum!  That's not healthy though... I've made progress here Smile Cleaned through and de-cluttered the unit in the living room. Bit emotional really as the things belonged to my Mum, just videos etc, but still......  I know she would be clapping like crazy, but still it's sentimental I know. Once I'm dressed, I shall retrieve C's old buggy, haul this huge heavy bag on it, and take it round the corner to the big bins! My Mum wouldn't be clapping on this, she'd be tutting, as the big bins actually belong to the people that live in the big block of flats. Ssshhh, I won't tell if you don't Cool

Deciding what is wrong with me. I've not had a dinner since Thursday, and don't feel in the least bit like eating. I'm not ill or anything, and of course I'm making sure C eats, but me? No. I did have a crisp sandwich at lunchtime followed by a chocolate mousse, but that's it. Might have to google that in a mo hehe.
