Good morning chaps

How is everyone today?

Anna your dream sofa bed sounds wonderful but anything white would be grey within ten minutes in this house. And I don't mean fifty shades of grey! Wink I have chosen dark brown.

Melsibob, glad you had a good day, your job sounds demanding. How horrid to have to have to re-apply for your own job, I have heard of a few people that has happened to. Do you work full time? What plans for the weekend?

PQ have you got the red wig ready? As I work on my own there isn't much point in wearing anything wacky, my eldest is doing a thing at work and I am sure some club or other in the buzzing Newcastle nightscene will be graced with youngest's donation.Actually I have been trying to encourage him to do something for someone less fortunate as he has a fulltime wage and lives at home and has plenty of spending money, it would be good if he would sponsor a child in Africa or something else that would help others.

Hazeleyes, glad it is Friday? Hope Smartie is behaving, and staying out of the bedroom. Sparkling how was the new hut?

Kiera how is your daughter this morning? hope you had a better night. Lots of sips of water for your daughter to rehydrate her  (not that I am doctor Louise haha)

Hopeful are you feeling better?

Wishing everyone a fab Friday. No cooking for me as am out with a friend tonight Laughing

Well, the red noses, wrist bands and my deeley bopper are out of the bag.  When they were all in school I used to take photos.  Hopefully I'll get some later on today.

I'm taking my neighbour to meet up with a lift later, so starting late at work - having worked 21 hours so far this week, I'm not too bothered!!  I will be going in with the nose on though - bet they won't notice.

Years since I've been to Cheshire Oaks HM.  I used to go there a few times a year when the legs worked.  Have fun!

Almost the weekend (good if you're not working over the weekend...)  Rugby and Formula 1...

Hi all, oh gosh kiera, sorry to hear that your night out was cancelled, but you are right you need to be at home with your little ones. (It does mean that your next night out will be even more needed!! Cool) Remember to look after yourself this weekend too kiera as you won't be any good to anyone if you are exhausted.

sparklinglime, happy mamma, Melsibob, hazeleyes, PQ, Louise, Sally and all other One Spacers - happy Red Nose Day from me!

I think if anyone calls to donate money tonight, you should ask the operator 'Are you happy mamma?' That would be so funny if someone did actually speak to her/you!!

I am off to see a friend for tea and cakes now, she has been poorly and needs some cheering up. I hope everyone has a good weekend. Don't forget to join Twitter, so you can get daily messages from us!!

Good morning all. Not caught up with posts yet (but I will) All okay here. Still getting used to having the kitten around. She's still not allowed in the bedrooms, and so far so good, she's obeying my rules, hehe. Work so so, new woman had a go at me, no reason whatsoever, and a teacher heard it all. She was gobsmacked. Woman did apologise after, but I do think that was because of the teacher hearing it all! She's had staff in tears (not in front of her) Raining here again, but I've plenty to keep me busy indoorsFrown

Hello everyone, hope you all enjoyed Comic Relief yesterday. Happy mamma I bet you are one tired mamma today Kiss Hope your shopping trip willbe good. Sparkling are you really saying that no-one would notice your red nose? Will you be following the rugby?

Kiera how are your children? It is exhausting when they are ill, shame about your night out but am sure you made the right decision, did the doctor say to try and keep your daughter off any food till her tum had settled?

PQ I kept thinking about how funny it would be if I wore a red wig at home yesterday, the postman would have had a laugh. Did you watch the TV thing? I loved Simon Cowell's "wedding"

Hazeleyes you certainly seem to have some rather distinctive characters (shall we say) working at your school. I hope you have a good weekend, despite the rain

Youngest texted yesterday to say he was ok, though I saw later on facebook that he was in danger of getting banned from the Chinese buffet up there due to large rates of consumption.

What's everone up to today? I have some One Space work to do while I have a quiet day and a friend is coming over this evening Laughing

Good morning Smile

Stayed up quite late watching comic relief, I liked simon cowels wedding too louise, also liked the vicar of dibley sketch. Rang up to donate money and was going to ask the phone operator if they were happy mamma but got an automated machine!

The 'woman' at your work hazeleyes sounds like a bit of a dragon. There are a couple of women like that where I work, luckily I don't have anything to do with either of them, but I know they often have my coleagues in tears. I have often asked them why they don't do anything about it, to me its workplace bullying and they could go down the grievance route, but they don't want to. There seems to be this attitude that 'its just them and we have to put up with it' but is that right? Do you think your colleagues feel the same hazeleyes?

A had a friend over last night, they are upstairs watching endless stuff on youtube! Its the school spring fair today, a shame spring has forgotten to come!! so I'll be there watching the girls spend my money on mountains of tat, I might just take my kindle, find the tea and cake stall and have a good read Smile

Hope you all have a good day x

Spring fair was ok, not many people there, shame for the school but good for me as I hate crowds and all the pushing to look at things! Managed to limit the spend to £30 so not too bad, although it is for a good cause.

A was supposed to go to her friends for a sleep over tonight but the friend cancelled, not the first time either so A is very disappointed. managed to avert a major tantrum earlier but I can see she's brewing.....wish me luck it could be a bumpy day.

Good evening guys

Nice to hear about everyone's days.

PQ how about doing the "challenge" again? Another thing I used to do was wait till they had a real "face" on them and look at my watch and say, brightly "HEY! I won, I bet myself you would be doing that face before (8pm or whenever) Ten team points to me" and walk out. Glad the spring fair was surviveable, eek.

Hazeleyes yes keep an eye on that woman! The sofa is leather, yes, I got the money paid for my teenage course and that almost covered it, with the council tax I haven't had to pay in February Laughing

HM, I saw there was a big thank you to mobile operators on Comic Relief, I thought about you, did you do it from home then?

Kiera I hope everyone is feeling brighter in your house.

How is everyone else? Melsibob what have you been up to? Sparkling, Hopeful, Looby?

Good morning all. Sunday againFrown Not a happy bunny here I'm afraid. Have been woken up at 3.30 every morning by the kitten. That's just for the litter tray! She makes so much noise with it, then scratches newspaper constantly afterward (I'm sure to annoy me) Anyhow, I cannot leave what's in the tray, as the flat is so small, and well you know what I mean!! My breathing is awful, and I'm tiredCool Oh, and my iron is broken!

Anyhow, how is everyone else doing? Louise, the sofa sounds lovely. I would also have to have a dark colour, though I love the idea of a cream one.

Well its still raining here, the girls are out with their dad so I have a day to myself, not sure what I'm going to do, need to pop into town for a few bits and bobs so may treat myself to a posh coffee. Just bought Judy Finnegan's bedut novel for my kindle so may snuggle down with that later....and there's always mount everest aka my ironing pile to tackle.

Kitten needs to be shut in the bathroom maybe?  And litter tray inside a big box means she won't be digging up the newspaper.  She's just a baby still, and yes, she will settle down...  Oh dear, a broken iron....  Cool

Wow, what a game of rugby yesterday.  I was holding my breathe and even crying at some points!  Daughter and youngest watched too, which is really lovely for me, with the seventeen year old popping his head around the door at various points.

Went across to see MiL after, as she's feeling a bit down, and I think overwhelmed in getting stuff ready to sell the house.  She's had a row with her youngest daughter too, which is upsetting.  So we were boggling until quite late!

Hello everyone and glad to know how your Sundays are going.

Hazeleyes, you have my sympathy with the breathing. The others have give you some good tips for the kitten. You iron is broken? Mine has been broken for years and years heh heh.

Sparkling (talking of irons Cool) I was thinking about you yesterday watching the rugby. haha that you recorded it to watch it again, a fab victory I reckon.

HM I have not heard of voucher cloud, will have a look at that! Did you have your shopping trip

Hopeful another essay eek, I reckon people divide into two types: those who do essays as they are dished out and want to get them out the way well before the date, and those who work best when time is short. And whateverf camp you fall into, it is hard to transfer to the other one.

PQ did you manage a posh coffee? I heard that Judy had written a novel. I am reading "Trespass" by Rose Tremain, am loving it.

Been to church lunch today, they did an Irish stew with St Patrick's Day. I think there was chocolate Guiness cake for afters but I didn't have any as I was cooking a meal for here tonight. Youngest will be back from Newcastle a bit later on.

I hope work goes well today pq.  Are you having help with the project?

I hope you had a good day off Louise.  I've been watching the weather forecast - do you have snow?

I've not seen the mountains since yesterday morning - they're in a haze - just when I remembered to take the camera with me when I went to see my Aunty.  Its a cold wind here, but the heater is now off, and staying off.  I've also imposed the 'no less than two people in the room' before the electric fire is switched on!  There are fleeces and a quilt in there Smile  I'm so thoughtful!

I'm looking around for goodies to take to work.  The boss is off this week, so we'll be able to shift stuff in half the time we do when he's about talking and diverting us from our job in hand!

Seventeen year old wants to go to the open day in college that's after Easter (there is one this evening) to look at leaving Art & Design and doing A levels instead.  I need to phone the college though to make sure he's caught up with projects.  She was really thrilled with one piece of work, which he was chuffed about.  He is at least feeling better about the art course now he's understanding what needs to be done.  Which is helping the moods at home.  There's only been two tantrums over the weekend!! Cool

Happy Tuesday!!

Good morning everyone

Yes, sparkling we had snow with a vengeance yesterday! The whole town was gridlocked traffic-wise. Everyone had tales of taking two hours to make a ten minute trip etc. I did manage to get into town, also deep joy, visited a new dentist. He was very nice, and gentle too (phew)

How is everyone today? Your work project sounds a bit daunting PQ. Hope the girls have settled down, I was wondering if going away from home, eg to your parents or to their dads, is some sort of trigger for bad behaviour? and if so, that is worth a mention. The Guiness cake just had Guiness in it, I think, I don't eat sweet things really so I wimped out of it.

Hazleyes how are things at the school? How is Smartie?

Sparkling I absolutely love your rule of at least two people in the room before the fire goes on. Hope your boss-free week goes well Laughing Good news about 17 year old (I think!)

Sally are you going away for your hol or doing day activities?

Youngest got back exhausted from weekend away then went to work at 6.30am, he rang me at 7.30 in the evening to say he had just finished, I went to collect him as I felt sorry for him. The bad weather had really affected deliveries. He was up at silly o clock again this morning. I have two counselling clients later and also church group. The snow has almost melted, thank heavens!

Another busy day, I think I need some matches to keep my eyes open.

Its an interesting thought louise about the girls going away. I decided to try a different tactic this time. We're going to see Olly Murrs on Friday and I have been putting away some money every month so they can buy themselves a sounvinere, I've saved up £40 so £20 each, it was going to be a surprise, but I decided to tell them about it yesterday and I have issued them with a challenge. If they break house rules between now and Friday they will loose £1 for every 'offence' so its in their hands to make sure they have the full amount by Friday....lets see how they get on! I did have a chuckle this morning though, they came down for breakfast and A said to H 'good morning H how did you sleep?' H replied 'very well thank you how about you?' it was like an extract from a jane Austin novel Laughing

Hi to all. Well, things not good here, meaning the cat. Don't make me feel guiltier than I already do, but I CANNOT handle it anymore. I'm woken up at 3.30/4, litter  has been in the kitchen, bathroom, and tiny hallway (no way is it going in living room) She has scratched wallpaper off, and last night, after returning from swimming, I was down on hands and knees scrubbing my carpet (won't go into detail) Breathing isn't good, I'm snappy because of ungodly hour I'm getting up, and not being able to go back to sleep again. C knows how I'm feeling, and I think it's affected him in lots of ways too. He wants his bedroom to be a catfree zone (and I agree totally) She is beautiful, and we are so fond of her, but I, hand on heart, cannot do this.

Really hope you're all okay. Skimmed through posts, and all sounds good. x

Hazeleyes, you have my every sympathy, I could not do it myself, but I don't know enough so give you practical suggestions, sparkling thinks she will settle down, maybe others have some ideas to help this happen.

Sparkling I know things are busy for you at the moment and I chuckled at PQ's idea of going in and out of the room. Hope you manage your finish times at work ok.Is it an inset day for the school on Friday?

PQ what a fantastic plan about the money!!! I will pinch that, if you don't mind, for my teen course. I really laughed about the Jane Austen novel, how hilarious.

happy mamma the dinner sets sound fab! all children like the Hungry Caterpillar. The app sounds good too, my friend used that Groupon for some time. I tag along for the cheap dinners and outings, haha.

Hopeful, good luck with the essay, let us know
