Hello and White Rabbits to everyone (isn't that what you are supposed to say on March the first?)

Sparkling I will be thinking of you at the funeral, it is Ok to be sad as you will miss your lovely neighbour but she is at peace and out of pain now.

Hopeful, poor you to have lost your voice for so long. Hope you are Ok at work with the "sign language" heh heh.

Kiera you are doing really well with your garden. Have you got flowers in it as well as a lawn? The daffodils seem to be coming out now, I have ONE daffodil, ha!

Hi Hazleyes, hope today will be a better day, I was reading on the other thread about the school's continuing saga.

PQ I am hoping that things are calm for you, with or without Brian (you can have him by the way, as he is a bit young for me Cool I will stick to Ray Winstone)

Anna how was yoga? I was reading yesterday that it is one of the fastest growing pursuits in terms of popularity.

Morning all. Oooh Pq, a posh coffee, sounds delicious, and a haircut will also boost you too. Enjoy your day.

Hope the last session with the group goes well Louise, I'm sure it will.

Sparkling, hope the funeral went off okay, and that you're feeling better now.

Waves to everyone else in here.

Had a melt down at school yesterday, in front of the new woman. At the time, I didn't give a monkees, but afterward, I felt a complete dipstick. Oh well. Not a good week all round for me really, lots going on. Anniversaries of my Dad and Mum Thursday and yesterday, and as well as that, everything was bubbling inside. Better out than in though right?

Have a nice QUIET day, pq and yum to the posh coffee

Sparkling hope you and your daughter were Ok yesterday

Kiera, apples and pears? you could make pies with the fruit but you would need a lot of sugar. I tried to grow gooseberries once but they were a bit of a failure

Hello to Hopeful, happy mamma and all other visitors here

Teen course went well and got good feedback forms, phew. I want to get some flyers printed now for the next one, which will be an evening one starting in April. I am shattered now, have to do a report on the learning points from it and do an inventory of the expenses, just refershments and stationery really.

It was one of the patients' birthday today, and the wife brought in cupcakes for the nursing staff. Yum yum. (never mind it's a cardiac ward.

Will be finishing the last 350 words of my essay now (gggrrrrrr!!!).

Hazeleyes, you're allowed meltdowns! :-)

Glad your voice is coming back, Hopeful Smile

A friend of mine was in the Coronary Care Unit a couple of years ago, luckily totally false alarm but I could see how poorly the other patients were. What were they given for lunch? Fish and chips.

I ended up as mum's taxi last night. Son's friend came straight from work, we had to provide a giant plate of doorstep sandwiches then of course they missed the bus so Muggins took them to town. I had to giggle hearing them talking. Friend said "I don't ask girls if they are single, I just go up and say they are beautiful and kiss them and see if it works" Oh dear.

What's everyone up to today?

He he he sounds like boys tactics haven't changed much over the years louise!

I had a very chilled day yesterday, so much so that I was almost late for my hair appointment so didn't have time for the posh coffee. A friend popped in last night and we had a good chat over a glass of wine. A has reherasals all day for her school play so H and I are going to have lunch with Sil and Mil...............oh there is also a mountain of ironing taunting me, if it gets any bigger it will take over my bedroom !

Glad your course went well, I'm sure the next one will be just as good.

That has made me smile Louise.  I'm playing mum's taxi at the mo as oldest's car is off the road again - needing a new engine Frown He had very few hours last month, so not much money to sort it out.

Shame.

Awww pq, I'm sorry you didn't have time for a posh coffee - but then I think being chilled was possibly more pleasurable.

It's a gorgeous day here.  Here's hoping spring has arrived.

I hope the essay goes well hopeful.  My voice is still disappearing after I talk for a while.  The children are loving it!

I think everyone would miss your chicken dinner if you changed it, kiera. Good luck with the driving lessons. As for the theory, have you had a go on one of those practice tests on the computer? That is what helped my son.

Sparkling, you are croaky too! Sorry to hear about eldest's car, he seems to be the same as my eldest, whose job was so variable as to hours. Many employers seem to have them on a low contract these days. My eldest finally starts a fulltime job tomorrow, hurrah, but he is 23! and very unusual even at this age to get a fulltime contract apparently. Employers seem to be getting more and more stringent; at this rate, they will be paying people in vouchers for t'mill-owner's shop before long!

PQ shame about the coffee but your day sounded lovely and A is busy with her rehearsals hehe. How was your lunch?

Son did some pots (under duress) and has now gone to McDonalds with one of his "cast of  thousands" friends (I can't keep up with all the characters)

Hopeful, glad your voice is nearly back to normal.

Sparkling, really hope you're on the mend, and fighting fit for work this week!

Great news for your eldest Louise, hope he has a great day tomorrow.

Good morning all! The weather on Saturday was beautiful, but the last couple of days it has just been grey :( So maybe some parts of the country Spring has arrived, but not here in the south west.

pq, have you noticed that your girls seem to always bicker after they have been somewhere else? It sounded like last, week after they had settled from their return from your parents, you had a really good time, but as soon as they go away and return, they start up again. It sounds as though you need to put your 'funny ' head on again Kiss I hope this evening will be gentle.

Aww hazeleyes, I am sorry to read that little C is poorly, although I wouldn't be surprised if you aren't a bit relieved not to be going in today! Although you were probably looking forward to handing the homework in! What subject was it that captures his imagination so?

Hopeful, are we done?? Did you get the assignment finished, references and all?? I hope you weren't up too late finishing it off, but well done if it is all completed, such a huge relief :)

kiera, did you look up the theory test online? My daughter spend hours on it and passed a couple of weeks ago. You can do it, just practice, practice, practice!

sparklinglime, I hope that the funeral passed smoothly, it sounds very difficult to pass your neighbours house, perhaps try and remember a particularly good time when you look at it rather than sadness. As Louise said, she is finally at peace.

Louise I can't believe your course has finished already, doesn't time fly, well done you, I look forward to hearing any feedback you have.

Well ladies, you were asking about HOT yoga! It is delicious! The room is heated with lots of heaters to create the temperature of somewhere in India, so it helps you sweat more, relaxes the muscles and it is easier to stretch. I love it, parts of me drip with sweat where I wouldn't even imagine, like the backs of my hands and my ears!! What is nice is that you do it barefoot too and I imagine that if it was in a regular hall, as it is still pretty cold at the moment, it wouldn't be a pleasant experience, however we shall see if I feel the same in the middle of summer!

Essay got done, yay. Took till about half eleven - silly computer didn't want to sort my references alphabetically, and then I had to format them all (you know the drill: a comma here, italics there.....), plus No3 son thought it was a good idea to have a haircut at ten. :-)

Anna, hot yoga sounds revolting. I like it hot, but to be in a room with lots of other sweaty women? Hmm..... Mind you, we are probably no better after a zumba session.

Took daughter to orthodontist this morning to have her braces off. Then they said 'can you come back on Wednesday so she can have retainers fitted?' What???? Do they think I have no life? I am working long days Wed, Thu, Fri, and because it's at the same hospital they understood. So they have squeezed here in late tomorrow, which is kind of them.

Starting next essay now, which has to be in Thursday week..... :-/ The weather is lovely down here, sunshine and almost 10 degrees! Would rather go for a hike...

Hopeful, so many essays. The referencing is one of the worst bits, isn't it? good luck at the orthodontist, it seems that once you get on that route you are there every five minutes. My friend says it feels as if her daughter lives there!

Anyhow, he has a viral infection, and if no better by Thursday, to take him back. He's up and down as kids are when unwell, but when I see him 'up' I think he could be at school, then when he's 'down' I think, perhaps not. 16 degress here too anna, yey.......but as I always say, the temp has got to be above 20 for 3 consecutive days before I feel brave enough to take my cardigan off!

My next door neighbours were burgled last night at 8pm whilst they were upstairs. They heard a noise at the front door, neighbour came running downstairs to see someone grab his wallet and car keys, he gave chase, saw the person jump into a waiting car he then jumped into the car to grab the burgler but they drove off with him hanging out the passenger door!!!! He let go and ended up face down in the road, luckily no serious injuries, but badly battered and bruised. Police have been very good and have taken it very seriously. Its made me feel very vulnerable, I haven't told the gilrs about it as I know they will worry. Its awful to feel unsafe in your home.

Oh poor PQ! Make sure you get in the routine of keeping your door locked even all through the day. This sounded like an "opportunistic" crime...I also don't have my car keys hanging up in view.

Yes hazeleyes, the weather has dropped again Undecided and it doesn't look set to pick up again for a while, hey ho, it was wishful thinking for March. I hope C's day was gentle and you were kind to yourself too and your body won out over your head. I find that if I think about things too much I never get anything done, however as soon as I stop thinking about it, suddenly I find I am doing it!

@ Louise really good this week so hopefully done enough but crumbled a little last night with a bottle of white. - My car is staying anyone trying to break i for my keys will meet Bertie the base ball bat - me and the kids have an action plan and I have just put new cctv signs up so if thats not warning enough theres to dog too lol

@ Anna Im not sure what we are going to do yet but I have managed to raise the funds for the ipad (2nd hand but like new) I think he will be very surprised as he just said he didnt mind what he got but did ask for some chiefs trousers for when he starts his course (he is an amazing chief already)

New blinds awwww we have a VERY nice man that comes to repair our printer you can hear the sharp intake of breath when he arrives he is one gooooood looking man even if i do say so myself BUT he wears awful brown shoes that dont match anything he wears lol - oh well maybe im just being too picky lol

@ Hazeleyes hope C is ok have the doctors given you anything? We have all had it and now my daughter J is coming down with it.

House next door to me has gone up for sale. Kind of pleased after the trouble with the weed smoking neighbours but it has all stopped since i last went and told them it was the last time i was going to warn them however the people i have seen viewing so far Im not happy about - this house is 2 bed no drive very small garden and parking for 1 car outside so the family turn up 3 cars #carwars - I have already spoken to the estate agent and asked them to promote there is only space for 1 car. The last lot of neighbours had 2 cars a van and girlfriends car we were very polite but it eneded up not so nice the otehr neighbour blocked them all in until they agreed to stop being so selfish - i know theres not much you can do it the car is taxed and tested but where we live we respect each others space even our visitors know the parking rules lol.

Have a lovely day all (whats left of it)

HM, parking can be  a major issue. I live in a cul de sac, there is only enough room for 1 car per household but we all manage by respecting each other. Whenever someone new moves in there is often a bit of jiggling about whilst the 'ecosystem' settles down again. The problem we have is when people are visiting, they don't know about the 'un-official' rules we abide by and can get quite shirty if you ask them not to park in certain places, but we usually find being blocked in or being woken up at 6am to move their car often gets the message across Wink.

Sorry to 'hear' C is on antibiotics again. How many throat infections has he had now? Are they thinking about an ENT referral for tonsilectomy?

Been quite busy with my girls. A is in her sch play so have been 'mums taxi' a lot this week. The play is on friday night so it will calm down after that. No bickering to report so far so I'm feeling very smiley Cool

Hi all, young man was very nice, but I generally think anyone is nice who will do a job for me and get it done well :) I shall say no more!!

Sorry to hear that C's sore throat is an infection, poor lad, i wish him a speedy recovery although this means you get more cleaning done! You have done the bathroom, whats on for tomorrow? Kitchen??! Wink

Louise I lurve Indian Head Massage, I am soooo envious! I am glad that you are treating yourself. Very important :)

happy mamma, I bet you are pleased with the ipad, sounds like you found a treasure there. So will anyone be getting him the chef trousers and would he consider catering for his own party, hee hee! I understand what you say about the brown shoes, although you should never judge a book by its cover, my biggest no-no is white socks Surprised with anything other than trainers!!

pq glad to hear that the girls have settled down again. Is A nervous about the school play, what part is she playing? Is is a one nighter, or over a couple of days?

Hello to kiera, sparklinglime, Hopeful (who I presume is busy writing copious amounts of essays!) and everyone else who pops in.

Tonight is sweaty yoga and I can't wait! Oh quick question, does anyone follow One Space on Twitter??

No brown shoes to throw, but have white trainer socks!

Good morning all. I found a kitten on line yesterday, RSPCA. Waiting on a call from the woman to look at the flat and garden, then C and I can go and see the kitten to decide. All systems go for this then!

C was given some painkillers on prescription yesterday, so of course, I didn't bother checking age or anything. He had one last night, and I was looking at them this morning, and it says, not to be given to under 12's!! They are Ibufrofen. I would have thought the chemist would have picked up on this, but obviously not, so will give them a ring later.

Pq, before Christmas, he had lots of throat infections, and it was mentioned about having his tonsils removed, but then he doesn't suffer with tonsilitis, one or two bouts of it perhaps, but the rest have been 'just' throat infections. Hope A has a fantastic night tonight. Glad the bickering has calmed down.

Happy mamma. Car wars eh? It's like that round here, I don't give a hoot, as I don't drive, but it does make me cross when visitors cannot park outside.

Sparkling, how are you? Hope all is well your end, and the children are okay.

What are you up to today Louise?

How was sweaty yoga Anna?

Does anyone have plans for Mother's Day?

A is ready for her play tonight, Its Snow White and the 7 dwarf's, a version by Roald dhal I think. Its just a one off event. She has already told me not to expect too much as the people playing the lead roles still don't know their lines, so we'll see.

The girls were with their dad yesterday and asked him for help buying something for me for mothers day, he told them they would have to find some money first! So they have come to me asking for an advance on their pocket money, and if I will take them to the shops...its such a shame for them. On the day we probably wont do anything 'special'. My friend is coming up so we will probably go for a walk in the woods and have something nice for dinner.

I too have an aversion to white socks with anything other than trainers and even then I prefer trainer socks....but socks with sandles is probably the biggest no no for me!!

I love seeing little children, aged 1/2 with sandals and little white socks though. Think it's so cute. In adults, a definate no no.
