That sounds interesting sparkling smiley

Hazeleyes, good plan!

Big shenanigans here: son went to gym and a guy came up to him and said "I am sorry to have to tell you something, I slept with X on Saturday night and I have now found out she is your girlfriend"There were more facts and it all added up with other things that had happened on Sunday (remarks on Facebook and some strange coincidences) so son believes it, and is now furious with the girl. So have been Mum the counsellor this afternoon

Yes it is, but he is Ok this morning, he said to me I will miss her but I have done the right thing (he went round and finished it with her after college yesterday evening and then I went and picked him up...in my jamas blush)

How is your side, sparkling?

Awww.  I'm glad he's ok this morning.

Eldest has just come to tell me that one of his friends is going to be a Dad.  Daughter then chipped in that one of the girls in her Year is pregnant...

Son has no college until this afternoon, and daughter has no school on Thursdays (history teacher is off on long-term sick after losing her son).  Daughter doing her work by me, and I'm having a break from Scouty stuff and then carrying on with essay.

My side is a lot better thank you - until I go to bed.  Each time I move it wakes me.  At least I can get in a car now without too much pain!  I'm just shattered laugh

I hope you're ok.

Today is my Saturday!

Oh No, what has happened to One Space? So so big. Is it staying this way Louise?

So sorry to hear about your son's girlfriend. He did the right though, at least (I guess) far better to find out now, then later on down the line, and he's more (in love). I know he'll hurt inside for a while, but he has a terrific mum to support him.

Sparkling, hope you're okay today, pain wise etc.

Picked C up yesterday, speaking to some of the staff in the playground. My teacher came out, and gave me a huge hug. I hugged him back, and laughingly said, 'awww, you are missing me'. We chatted for a while too, and he told me not to rush back if I'm not ready for next week. He was soooo sweet.

Have done quite a bit this morning. Had to walk C to school, and carry his science project (or some of it), the rest will have to go down tomorrow. Then off to the shops etc. That tired me completely! Cleaned the sink and loo, hoovered through, as couldn't face it anymore. Now sitting down for lunch, and shan't move until I go back for C. Mince for dinner, and I've bought two packs, so I can make a shepherds pie for next week. Still have one stitch left, which doesn't seem to want to leave me, ggrrrrr.

Hope you're all having a good day. x

Ah.  Sun is NOW trying to come out when I'm about to head off to Cubs.  Daughter and I had planned on taking the dog out for a ride (daughter would have taken her for a walk), but as it was drizzling she and I did our homework instead - which is better really...

We haven't seen the sun for ages here, as we have the cloud over the west coast sad

Hope the sun is shining where you are.

We've had the sun all day, though I'm still wearing my winter coat! Others are walking round with t-shirts, so I must have looked odd. (do I look bovered?)

Glad you both got homework done.

Also glad to see One Space is back to normal. That was frightening!

Cheated on dinner. Decided to give C a mince bake thing, in the oven for 45mins. I'm not at all hungry, so will grab some cereal or something later. Mind you saying that, C ate a doughnut and some biscuits, so he's not hungry yet either. Oh well, will just warm his up in the micro. (All that slaving for nothing, hehe)

Not sure how I'm working things tomorrow. Taking C to school, but then I need to be back there for 11.20, which means I'll be home for just over an hour before going back for the science fair. Bit of a pain really, but will sort something. Might end up staying at the school until after the fair, which is 11.50. Tried to wangle out of it, but C was getting upset as other parents will of course be there, so I do have to go for his sake, and my sanity!

Hope you all have a good evening. Can't believe how quickly this week has gone.

Hmm have you noticed how quickly a week off can go? Hope you are gradually feeling less sore, Hazeleyes.

Yes,One Space was rather temperamental earlier but seems to have settled down, phew.

Mince here too (bolognese). We actually only have it once a week but it just feels more often cheeky

Sparkling, isn't it shocking when we hear of friends of our teens becoming parents so young, I always worry in case that means that they don't get to enjoy their youth. It is something I have alwasy dreaded for my boys, just because I want them to be able to choose parenthood a bit further down the line. Having said that, I would support them is it happened, and help them all I could. Are you taking painkillers at night?

How is everyone this evening?

It is shocking.  One thing that has to be answered carefully (similar talk here) as if anything did happen, I would hate to think they'd be afraid to tell me.

It was a reasonably good night in Scouts, although I didn't appreciate the assitant leader phoning me at 5.35pm to see if I'd written and printed letters about his walk next week.  Had been waiting for information for two weeks, and it came through after I reminded him yesterday evening.

I leave the house at 5.45pm to go to Cubs...  Not a lot I could have done if they hadn't been done!  (moan, moan, whinge, whinge)

I hadn't looked forward to going, so glad it was ok.

Youngest has a lovely bruise on his nose.  We had a hobbies night and one of the girls brought in her majorettes baton.  J was running about and ran right into it while a move was being demonstrated.

**sigh**

I forgot to give out letters I'd typed too... **another sigh**

Tractors have been muck spreading in the field...

**pooh**

And I'm frozen.  Perhaps the sooner that scout hut's demolished the better - even if we haven't got anywhere to go.

I think I was lucky with One Space as I didn't notice it being tempremental.

I do take some paracetamol before bed time, but by 2am or so, its not good.  At least its a good distraction from the usual athritic pain laugh

I'm going to fill a hot water bottle tonight, if I've not run out of hot water.

Oh sparkling, an eventful evening. And with four children there is always SOMETHING going on.

I was wondering whether ibruprofen would help more at night?

My boy is at work today. It is the ex-girlfriend's day off but tomorrow they have to work together, which he is dreading.  Eldest and friends have got together and produced a poetry anthology and it is going on sale on Amazon so I am pretty amazed.

How is everyone today? Hope you get on Ok at the science fair, Hazeleyes

An awkward time for your son tomorrow then Louise. I hope it goes okay. Your eldest is doing great (not that I have any idea what anthology is of course, but poetry is an easy word for me, hehe). I hope it all goes well for him and his friends.

C was picked up this morning, which helped me a great deal to be honest. I'll just wander down there before the fair gets going, so I can get the water that he needs. Should be TA's job, but could very well moan about it, his TA anyway! Should be more relaxed at the school as well today. In between me going to school, I've just stuck a wash on, so only C's dark washing to do, so at least I won't have mounds to do for the weekend, phew.

Hope you all have a good day. x

Aww that's lovely LRH smiley yes, do concentrate on your time with your mum and try not to worry too much about what "he" is up to.

How did the science fair go, Hazeleyes?

What are you up to today, sparkling?

Son went out last night to what is optimistically called "a gathering" I felt a bit worried as he told me who he was going to meet but he seeme to have got back in one piece so that's good. He is working 11-6 today so I have done him a pack-up. He gave me his bank statement yesterday for shredding, I started laughing because one of the entries on it was Greggs the Bakers, £3.40. I said you must be the only person who uses their debit card in Greggs, he said "I had no cash on me and they said the minimum transaction is £3 so I said stick another sausage roll in the bag". Oh dear.

Have a good day everyone!

Thank goodness for rugby to distract me from life today.  My brother is texting me frantically, which is nice.

C is soooooo poorly. He's in bed now fast asleep. I've been up with him since 6 this morning, he was complaining of sore throat last night, so I gave calpol. Same thing this morning, but with temperature. I was ummming and ahhing about taking him to Doctors. They open 9-11. Thinking it could be viral or something. Anyhow, finally decided at 10.40. Rang and if I could be there in 5 mins, he would be seen. Are they joking? Had to order a cab for starters! C said he'd be okay, so kept on with the calpol. At 2.15 gave him neurofen, and by 4.15, temp had gone up, not down!! Got a cab and went to a walk in clinic, further than normal walk in, but figured I'd be seen quicker at this one. Wrong. Anyhow, not impressed with the assessment person, not sure if Dr or Nurse. Nurse I actually think. In the waiting area, he'd taken his coat off, but he was absolutely shivering (temp), kept telling him not to put coat on, but he honestly thought he was cold, bless him. 2 mins before being called in, he put coat on. She listened to his chest with it on!!! Glands are like golf balls (which I knew), temp was up, and she said he was due some more. Tried to explain that his temp hadn't come down since 2.15, but in fact had gone up. Told me he had throat infection, and amoxocillin no longer given for throats!!! He is on something else, which has bits in, has taken it, but definate dislike. I do remember my own GP giving this, and I had to ring saying it was absolutely disgusting, taste etc, and he promptly gave the banana flavour. Anyhow, definately not impressed with this visit. Came home, made some pasta for C, didn't eat it however. Meds all in him, and still the temperature is up. Doesn't seem to be coming down. Doubt if I'll sleep much tonight. Shall ring my surgery in morning if no better, or if in night, I'll call NHS Direct.

Sorry long post!

Glad eldest got camera sorted.

Hope your youngest was okay at work Louise. Made me laugh about the card in the bakery.

lrh, hope the children had a good time.

ah hazeleyes sorry to hear C is poorly - remember lots to drink to stop dehydration - its hard when they are unwell because they often have no appetite - i would think a day or twowith not much to eat would be ok - you could try soup or icecream or something really soft but definitely lots to drink - they do say a fever is the body's way of fighting an infection so it does have a purpose but it can be scary - my eldest hallucinates when she has a temperature - it is very scary to see.

hope you manage to get some rest - let us know how he is in the morning.

my girls came home happy - great day out just the three of themsmiley

i had an ok meal with my mum - just a bit disappointed with the food but we enjoyed each other's company

Don't want to put a dampner on tomorrow but just want to say I am thinking of all those who don't have their Mother's around - thinking of you.

Good morning to you all smiley

It's Mother's Day and perhaps a little bitter-sweet for some of us. I have started a thread in General.

The sun is shining here, Son is off to work, claims to have left MD card in work locker and giving staffroom a wide berth so he didn't bump into Ex-Girlfriend. Hmmmm. Anyway have had a chat on the phone with eldest, which was nice.

Sparkling that was great, to go to the cafe.

Hazeleyes, how is C? What sort of a night did you have? Remember when a baby has a temperature, you are encouraged to sponge them with TEPID water, that would be an idea if he is very hot and as LRH says, get him to sip plenty of drinks.

LRH it was nice to see your mum, even if the food wasn't brilliant.

Hope everyone is ok today

Happy Mother's Day to you. We all deserve a lovely day, so hopefully we'll get one.

C was up at 4, so gave calpol. Would not take the antibiotic, but Dr rang me, and no problems in prescribing the amoxocillin. He couldn't see why the walk in clinic didn't do it. Anyhow, C has now had it, so hopefully will be on mend soon. He's having plenty to drink. Had smooth yoghurt and teensy bit of breakfast, plus milkshake, so at least he's having something. It does worry me when I can't get his temperature down, despite doing everything I can. Dr said to take him down tomorrow if no better. He did ask if I wanted him to check him over this morning, but I knew he'd be okay. Really annoyed with neighbour. She rang to see how things were. Told her about C's throat infection and stuff, and that I was in a pickle about work tomorrow, as I'd just had two weeks off for me, and I'd probably end up getting sack. She laughed, and said she's sure they'd understand, whereas she could have said, he could go over there. Absolutely fed up, no giving back at all. Will try and ring a friend to see if she's around, just in case he isn't at school. If not, don't know wha I'll be doing.

Anyhow, I got some lovely flowers, thornton chocs, little heart chocs, and a packet of chewing gum from my darling son. He's made his card, which was lovely.

Glad you got to speak to your eldest Louise, hopefully youngest will retrieve your MD card from the locker.

lrh, glad your visit with your mum was okay. Sorry the meal was up to scratch. Hope it didn't spoil it.

Sparkling, hope you got brekkie in bed.

Glad you FIL is looking better Sparkling. My Mum could have good weeks, then she'd take a bad turn and it was awful, especially when she caught chest infections. Made breathing very difficult for her.

lrh, hope you've had a good day.

Organised for tomorrow now. Friday friend has no work on, so she'll have him here. He's delighted. I rang another neighbour earlier, she's 80, and she offered to have him until 1pm, as she's visiting her friend. If it had come to it, I would have taken up her very kind offer, told school I'd have to make time up on another afternoon and come home. Still.....

Hi zippy, I brought this to the attention of the powers that be, who were investigating. Unfortunately the internet there was out of action for a couple of days. My recommendation is that you email the Legal Expert yourself direct and also the CSA expert (did not realise you were waiting for this too, as you had only mentioned the legal one before) What I am saying is send them separate emails. I am so sorry that you have been kept waiting like this, the service is usually very quick.

Hi all. Yes the sun is shining, but still chilly, so still wearing my winter coat. My kind neighbour came to my rescue this morning. Had C for me until 12.30. I got her some flowers, and she said her and C had a nice time, playing some quizzes on his laptop. He is much much better, so school tomorrow. My other neighbour (the one I do shopping for) rang a little while ago, wanting to know when I'll be doing her sister's bills!!! Angry is not the word for me right now. I simply told her I didn't know. She then asked about C, so I said that he had gone to J's. I really really don't understand her, and I guess I never will.

Feel like having a catnap, so I might just do that hehe. Work is good, but I'm exhausted. Got to get back to normal, which will take some time again. Apart from that, everything is good here. Dressing up day on Friday. I'm going as Robin Hood (with a skirt). Neither teacher nor I will say what we're going as, (both acting like kids? Yes, hehe).

Hope everyone is okay, and enjoying the look of the sunshine at least.
