Good morning all, the rain has gone and the sky is blue, well here in the south west anyway, I hope it is the same for you?

sparklinglime, I love hearing that you feel less anxious about Mondays, I hope today goes well, you seem to have let go a little, your home is clearer and everyone is beoming more independant. How was the first aid training? How were the boys when you got back?

pq, soo glad you and your daughter are back on good grounds, it is tough to watch them go through these painful teenage years. I have to agree with Louise, sometimes their 'issues' seem so trivial, but as long as we keep listening (whilst trying not to get caught up in the emotions) it pays off in the long run.

Skyflower, thinking of you today, I am wondering how you have done your hair for Court? I am liking the style today.

flowers, great suggestion from Louise there, start your own book club/ coffee morning. I am sure if you advertised it you would soon have some 'helpers'. We can advertise it on here too Smile

kiera, I hope you are well, getting ready for your sons 16th tomorrow, is he excited?

I had a mostly quiet weekend. I wanted a quiet one on Friday, but by Saturday afternoon I was twiddling my thumbs, read a great article online, so Sunday I went out for a long walk and then managed to get a space on Sweaty Yoga class!

Happy Birthday for your sons Birthday tomorrow keira, do you have any plans?

Hi Lousie, hope your sons girlfriends hand is not to badly burnt.  Whats the storyline for the new book your editting?

Hope everyone else has had a good day too.

I twiddled my thumbs at the weekend too Anna, i had a bit off a migrane on Friday that left me still feeling a bit shaky on Saturday felt much better by Sunday so i started reading a book a colleague has given me to read, based on a story about the war.  I have just found a Cuban Exercise class near me that i'm going to give a whirl.

Anna, I looked very good with my hair up in a black dress thank you :)

It was my last day in Court today, my brain still can't understand it. I had not completely understood it but thanks to section 37 report he looked really bad and he handed a long statement in court what rubbish guardian was, the court system that let him down, a whole length on me and what rubbish the social worker of section 37  was.

To cut it short he wanted to pull out completely, did not want full custody anymore and no visiting and no indirect contact, just birthday and Christmas cards. He did not want to buy them presents either.

So as of today court is over, completely over, I am getting full custody and we can live in peace. Thank you all so much for being there for me, without you I could not have done it xxx

I know Sally:) I didn't change Avatar for more than a year and all of a sudden thought ex was on this site and now keep changing her though maybe it's more noticeable than not Undecided

This morning  I phoned  mcKenzie friend to tell good news and she actually said that as long as the Fact and Find Hearing has this verdict, he is always still able to bring me back to Court whereas if I now appeal in London I have a very good case as with this section 37 report I could then have a new FOF and have verdict overturned and clear my name. I am so exhausted with it I need to appeal I think within 28 days of the order

anyone ideas about this ?

Wow Skyflower......and there's more? What would you like to do? While you are still on this roll, do you want to conclude everything, get your appeal in and clear your name? Or are you done in and want to let sleeping dogs lie?

I know what I would like to see you do, but we will support you whatever your decision.

Sally, I wondered why you were walking around today in your underpants!! Wink

Geez skyflower the option of more court, i thought you were all done, maybe you need to give yourself a mental holiday from it all for a week, then make a decision on what route you want to take.

Hope you had a lovely evening PQ, nice that you had an uneventful weekend.

Ha Ha, I hope you enjoyed your evening to yourself last night Anna.

Hi everyone, the weather was crazy today!! Wind rocking the car and rain lashing around, competely bonkers!

Did you have a nice eve pq? Where did you go? What did you eat? (MMMMmmmm i love restaurants!)

Skyflower I hope your day was gentle even after that email this morning?

Sally I must say you looked very professional today in work!! Even though you were walking around without shoes on (sshhhhh, I haven't told anyone!)

sparklinglime, how are you? How are the winds in your neck of the woods? Is the sea looking magnificent, or are you experiencing flooding?

kiera, I hope all is well with you, is your little one enjoying with 'wild' wind? My daughter used to!

hopeful, I hope you and yours are well? hazeleyes, you too, long time no speak!

big hello to everyone else I haven't chatted to for a while.

Happy moving day Skyflower! I am wondering if you are in now all munching away on take out pizzas or a casserole the neighbour has cooked for you! (Do they ever do that in the UK?!) Or maybe you are still lugging things in from the car. Whatever you are doing I wish you a fantastic nights sleep and when you wake up you feel hope, peace and safe, so that you can positively say 'Today is the First day of the Rest of my Life!!'

Glad you had some sunshine sparkling, we saw some blue sky for a while. I had snow/hailstones all over my car this morning!

kiera it is great that the judges made the decision of no contact, he can't really fight against that anymore can he?

So last night I had a great yoga session, different instructor and although the moves didn't seem that strenuous, ouch I am quite achey today, all for a good cause though! I want to regain my strength Smile Got lots of veg in my fridge that needs eating tonight, so I think it is a stir fry for me. What are you having?

Hi All,

Had a lovely evening out with my friend. We went to Prezzo as we had a voucher!! I had a lovely carbonara and a glass of wine.

This week has gone so fast and I am so tired now. I have just had a migarine aura, I've taken some painkillers so fingers crossed it doesn't turn into anything major.

Its raining again, but fortunately I haven't been affected by the floods, the images on the news look grim.

I still haven't taken my Pilates DVD out of the box Embarassed. The girls are at my parents next week so I'll have no excuse.

heartSO its VALENTINE's DAY!!! heartHas anyone got a date??

How is everyone coping? Are we feeling alone or indifferent? I have made a date with a girlfriend! We were going to go to the cinema, but have decided it to nip to M&S grab that 'Romantic Meal for 2' deal  and head over to hers! Best thing about it is that we won't end up arguing, we can wear our pj's or joggers and there will be no expectations on us - who could want for more!!

Morning everyone, back here again and catching up with all your news.

Skyflower, even though I was not working on here during the week, I did have a peep so I could find out what had happened with the court as I was thinking of you. WOW I am so pleased about what happened, and the house move as well, your head must be in a whirl and it is all so exciting. BIG HURRAH! How are things with the house now?

PQ sorry to hear your migraine developed, they are horrid aren't they, hope you are much better this morning.

Kiera how is your daughter? What film did you watch?

Sparkling hope the weather has not been too drastic for you, it's hard when there does not seem to be an end to it.

Anna a lovely meal, what a good idea. We had a takeaway here and then son took a girl to the cinema, it is all a bit half-hearted and he is not officially "seeing" her. Eldest was being scornful about commercialism but still bought a card for his girlfriend. Her hand is better thank heavens and he has been chief butler there all week.

Sally hope your weekend is going well. Did you get some new jeans?

Hello to everyone else! I am editing a book about a group of African American women and their relationships, it is a first novel so there's some tweaking around to do. Visiting a friend today who has had a knee replacement, haven't seen her for ages, we became single parents at about the same time so there are lots of memories to talk over as well as our lives now. I am on creche duty tomorrow at the church, eek. Last night I dreamed I was looking after a baby boy and he was only a few weeks old and as soon as everyone left the room he had a totally adult conversation with me and told me not to tell anyone he could talk fluently!

See you all later on...

Hi,

Doesn't look like anyone was in apart from Louise at the weekend.

My weekend was super busy. My migraine lingered most of saturday but by the evening it had gone. My friend came over and the girls went to their dads for a sleepover so my freind and I went out for dinner. We stayed up chatting until 2am so sunday was a bit bleary eyed! Took the girls to my parents yesterday where they will stay for the rest of half term. Looking forward to a bit of me time.

A has decided that she doesn't like my friend, which I can understand as we can't like evryone we come in contact with. However she was quite rude to her yesterday and made it very clear that she didn't like her. My friend is quite philosophical about it and thinks its just a teenage phase and perhaps some jealousy over our relationship. The added problem I have is that my friend feels she shouldn't accept the behaviour from A so stands up to her so yesterday the 2 of them were digging at each other like 2 teenagers! Its really upsetting me and I'm not sure what to do about it.

Hi pq, good morning. glad to hear that your migraine finally faded away by Saturday evening.

Teenagers tend to not like people who think they know better than their mum. They want to be liked by their mum's friends and not seen as just their mums friends daughter, but as a person in their own right. I wonder if this is where the friction lies?

Your friend may be right that there might be some jealousy over your relationship too because she was with her dad and then she is going to her grandparents, where is 'her time' to have fun with mum?

I am glad that you have a 'week off' lucky you! Any plans?

Hi Anna,

I don't get a lot of time on my own with A because her sister is usually there too. It is a problem for both of us and I suppose I need to be a bit more creative with ideas and time to make something happen....any ideas would be appreciated Smile.

I've tried to keep this week quiet. I'm going to the cinema tomorrow. We were hoping to go and see The Invisible Woman but we're finding it hard to find a cinema out of london that's showing it this week. There are lots of things I want to do at home, like start my pilates!! And I have a new laptop (finally) and I'd really like to spend an evening playing with that. So a mixture of the two I think Smile

How are you today ? Struggling with your teenagers, I know its not easy I have two now you will have to just go through it, will ask at the people at our course what is best to do..

Hi Louise, yes it is finally over, couldn't see you peeping :) thank you so much for your always help. Your help is invaluable to many of us. Kiss

Yes, the house is so lovely, just lots of boxes to unpack, lots of them, but we are in. Couldnt sleep with all the strange noises during the storm and also the fire alarm went off at 3 in the night.

Looked everywhere for the fuse box, nowhere to be found. Next morning I found that in the garage which is not handy but so far that is the only minor point found. so happy here.

Evening everyone,

PQ, teens can be so difficult at times, i have three of them and one not to far off so totally empathise with you, also know how difficult it can be to get some quality time with each of them, does H have a friend that she could visit for a few hours so that you can spend some one 2 one time with A?

Skyflower glad to hear your settling into your new home, it can take a while to get used to your new surroundings, before you now it you will have been there years.

Hi Louise, i did get some new jeans, i now have to ware them in so they are like the old ones.  Had to laugh at your dream about a baby as i had one recently, though in mine i was pregnant Surprised

Anna how did your date go on Friday night?

I had date night with my lot early on Friday night, then had a few drinks later on in the evening with a friend.  The rest of the weekend was spent pottering about the house as i did not fancy getting cold and wet.

So glad you're getting settled skyflower. New noises in houses are awful to get used to, I still go to sleep with the radio on as I hate being the only adult in the house at night, it distracts me and stops my mind from thinking the worst..lol!

I'm typing this on my new laptop, its all shiney and new and I love it! Not sure it will stay that way once the girls get their hands on it!!

I'm sorry I missed you Louise.

I was away most of the weekend, and had a migraine thrown in to the mix.

Sunday was dry and almost sunny here.  I went for a walk to the beach I was introduced to in the summer.  Walked from one bench to another.  No stick, no panic attack and I didn't fall over.  Good going for me.

I've no news really.

Worrying bit is that my daughter is 20 on Sunday.  Child benefit, child tax credits and part of the child maintenance (we get £56 a month there) will stop.

I just wonder if life will ever stop being a challenge.

I hope your daugher's better kiera.

I hope your head has cleared pq - I seem to end up with a fuzzy head for a couple of days after a migraine.  I hope you're enjoying the laptop.  I always have the radio or fall asleep with the tele on at night.  We have a rope light going up the stairs too - mainly for me as I hate the dark!!  Not that the children know...

Hope you're happy Skyflower.

Glad you got some jeans Sally.  I need to get another pair of straight leg ones really, to wear with my fluffy boots...

I hope Friday was lovely Anna.  I had roses, from someone I met in December...  Eons since I last had a Valentine's anything.  :-)

wow so much to catch up on!

Skyflower I am SO happy for you, what a wonderful new start this will be for you and your children. Congratulations!

Sparklinglime, wow I can't imagine my kids ever being that big. It must be a worry with the money, it's always such a big stress.  I hope you'll be able to figure something out.

PQ, I hope you're able to find a way to spend some one on one time with A. That sounds like a really awkward situation to be in with your friend. And ugh, the weather is so depressing isn't it! we have sun here for the first time in a while and it lifts the mood so much.

Anna, how was your date?

Louise, that editing project sounds like a lot of fun. I used to freelance years ago and always really enjoyed proofing/editing jobs. I hope it's going well!

Kiera, I hope your daughter is feeling better now? There's so much going around at the moment.

Flowers, how are things with you lately?

Sally, the cuban exercise class sounds like fun! As does date night :)

Sorry if I've missed anyone, theres so much to catch up on!

Trying so hard to find a council house swap at the moment, and just having no luck at all. Nobody in the area I want to go to wants my area, and trying to find a three-way swap is like p*ssing in the wind, for want of a better phrase. I managed to find a woman in Exeter who wanted to go to London, and several places in London who wanted my area, but either nobody replies or they say my particular town isn't what they are looking for.  So many timewasters too, I get messages from people offering me their one bedroom flats when I've quite clearly stated I have children and need two bedrooms and a garden.  It's incredibly frustrating. I'm desperate for a new start. Feeling so low at the moment, feels like everything is a big mess.

I know I shouldn't complain, and I am very lucky to have a secure roof over our heads.

Had a lovely weekend away in London this weekend, it was ace, but my ex was inexplicably furious with me when I returned, and my kids have been saying things that make me very suspicious that he has been slagging me off in front of them.

I wish wish wish he would just disappear!

No more moaning though, sorry. The weekend away was wonderful and I can't wait until I can go again - though won't be for a while now unfortunately!

Hope you're all having a good week xx

Hi just_immi, great to hear your news, glad London was so good :) I remember when I was looking to move and getting desperate and frustrated when it didn't happen straight away, I think we have to take a step back and accept and love where we are and we will find that move 'at the right time'!

pq, loving your new laptop too! I haven't heard of Invisible Woman or Captain Phillips, I hope you have a great night. Just a thought, what about inviting A out one early evening this week??

sparklinglime, no stick, no panic attack and no falling over, that sounds brilliant a real confidence boost. Do you think that is because of all your hard work at the gym? Lovely to hear that you got some roses from someone, that made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Tell me more about this chap Kiss

Skyflower, happy new home! I hope that you are throwing stuff out as well as unpacking. Remember less is more!!

My Vals night was great fun! The M&S deal had sold out so we got pizzas from somewhere else and some cava. My friends son and his friends were getting ready to go out (they are early 20's) into town, so we had a banter with them, they took ages to get ready! Then we just hung out and chatted, really very pleasant thank you for asking!

I hope everyone is enjoying these lighter evenings and you managed to get a moment for the sun to shine on your face today (I did and it was bliss)

Thanks for the advice Anna, the girls don't get back from my parents until Friday night but I think I might give the idea a go next week.

We went to see Cuban Fury at the cinema last night. The story wasn't great but if you like Latin music and salsa then you'd love it, as I did.

Just-immi, you're weekend in London sounded fab. It seems your ex maybe a little jealous. I would just ignore him. Your children will learn very quickly who behaves well and who doesn't.

I'm shattered.

Youngest's birthday yesterday, so we had a treat from the chip shop.  He has yet another cold, however, so coughing all night and his asthma is bad - again...

Daughter is 20 on Saturday, so life will be harder from next week as the child benefit and child tax credits stop.  We're prepared though, I hope Cool Thanks just-immi, it is a worry.  I think I quite enjoy them growing up.  I'm disabled and am not able to play sport or walk on a beach as I could.  I think if I could still do stuff I'd miss them being small far more.  We have a lot of fun.  My new friend joined us yesterday too, and I think he enjoys the madness.

I'm sorry your ex is making things difficult just-immi.  I'm sure you're always positive about things with the children though.  I used to go through rubbish with my lot's Father.  Who phoned yesterday to see what youngest wanted for his birthday Sealed

I hope you're enjoying your quiet week pq.  It's years since I've been to the cinema.

I'm glad you enjoyed Valentine's Anna.  I'm enjoying the longer days and feeling better and better.

i hope you're settling down happily Skyflower.

Work is still interesting.  No one is having time to touch the work I do while I'm off, so things are falling behind.  Shame...  I'm still working to rule however!  Seein my colleague one day a week is odd for us both still...

I'm off to the gym.  My oldest is home this morning to keep an eye on youngest.  The rowing machine is causing me lots of problems though.  I love it, but can now only manage 7 minutes before pain becomes too much Frown As one of the chap who helps run it says  "get on that then, and work twice as hard".  He's right, and I do.

I hope every one is ok.

Anna and Sally, you are brilliant and I enjoy reading what you've been up to Smile but I do miss Louise too, 'seeing' her at weekends is still strange...

Hello everyone, just been reading up on your news. I do miss you all too...it's just a funding issue, we need to provide maximum coverage for the boards so we have to spread things out a bit. How are you all today?

PQ you were indeed busy last weekend. I also want to see The Invisible Woman. It is only showing late at night here....I would have to go in my jamas! It does sound a good idea for you to get some time with A, maybe H could even go for a sleepover and you and A could have a girly pamper night?

Skyflower well done on all that you have accomplished with the move so far and I hope your little doggy soon settles down too.

Hey Sally, I like your new jeans! Do you remember that thing people used to do where they got a new pair and got in the bath wearing them so they shrunk to be a really tight fit?

Sparkling, a beach walk, how FAB. I remember how you have said a few times about how that was one thing you thought you may never be able to do again. Happy Birthday to your daughter for tomorrow, are you doing anything to celebrate? What is this about a chap you met in December, is this a new admirer, not the guy who is very involved with helping his grown-up daughter?

Hi just_immi, glad London went well, and sorry to hear about the frustrating housing situation, I do agree about time-wasters, people don't read the ad properly in the first place! Hopefully you can seem unconcerned about things the ex has been saying (in front of the children I mean...they will feel disloyal for having heard stuff, if they think you are fine about it then it takes the pressure off them)

Anna, what a lovely Valentine's evening. I am terrifically excited because today is the day I get to meet eldest's beloved girlfriend. I can't wait!!! he is so happy with her and I want so much for us to like each other.

My other news: as you all know I always have silly dreams, the other night Posh Spice was asking me if I wanted to go and have tapas with David Beckham (and "tapas" was not a code word hahaha) and I was cross because I knew she had chosen me because I am not glamorous and was therefore off his radar, so I didn't go!! As if. Am on the last section of editing the urban novel, it has been better than I expected. Meeting a few people for a posh coffee this afternoon as two volunteers are leaving the counselling place so it's a farewell do for them. Youngest hurt his back at the gym and went to Casualty to get checked out. The small lady doctor made him lie on the bed and said after three, push against my arm with your leg. "Are you sure?" he asked. "yes yes" said the doc, "1....2...3" and with that he pushed, and she pinged out through the cubicle curtains and onto the floor. Whoops.

Ooh it's all gone quiet in here, hope you are all having a great weekend.

Meeting with eldest's girlfriend was a roaring success, we all had a fab time and even youngest behaved himself with only one very cheeky remark.

What is everyone cooking for dinner? I think I need a short, sharp trip to the shops this afternoon as it's a bit of a Mother Hubbard situation here Laughing

Good morning Louise.  I went to  say hi yesterday but got distracted by the girls. So glad all went well meeting the girlfriend. I laughed at your son's experience in a&e. I bet she'll think twice about that in the future!

I had a good day yesterday. Went for a lovely walk with both girls.  Normally A wouldn't have come but I gave her the choice of where to go  so she came along and we had such a laugh. Messing about in giant muddy puddles,  climbing trees,  it was like they were little again. A said she enjoyed being a little girl again and that she didn't always like being a teenager!

I'm going to take H to get her first mobile phone today and upgrade A's. Tesco always have good deals so will go there. After making pancakes of course!

I was going to do a roast chicken today but I've jus remembered the chicken is still in the freezer! Will have to rethink now!

oooo sorry Louise, we are always missing you so much but yesterday chap came fixing tv's as here it went all wrong with signals, after that went to B and Q and weekend shopping and by the time I came back it was cooking dinner and then  son was on computer and I watched film with other son,

I think we are busy in a different way during the weekend...was a moment on IDT thread as she was not ok yesterday,

Glad the meeting with eldest girlfriend was so great Louise and that you enjoy your editing work.

O Pancakequeen what will you eat ? I always love a curry when things don't work out as it is so quickly done and nice to eat. Kids want chicken goujons today with mash, mine are so bad with vegetables, a bite of peas or carrots and if I am not watching they would be quickly shoving it in the dustbin. They can't give it to the dog as she is even more picky than them.

So glad you had a nice time with your daughter PQ it is so important to all laugh together and have a good time. Very well done for getting her to go!!!.

Just been for a walk with little fluffy ball it is so muddy that every day I have to wash her off completely as she likes to run in anything and everything and she needs it, so I hope the good weather will come soon, because I can't do 18 years of this every day :)
