DoppleMe

I have been a professional single parent for 11 years now - working part-time for 31 hours a week. My post has just been removed from the organisation I have worked for for 17 years and I am opting for voluntary redundancy. I will get a CILON payment plus a redundancy package. Can you anyone advise re benefits I might be entitled to and when from please? Does a redundancy payment count as 'savings'???

Any advice gratefully received - espec from any 'freelance' working lone parents! Thx.

Hi Lonestar50,

Welcome to One Space. Hope you're finding your way around the boards.

You could run your query past our money expert, who has a wealth of knowledge on benefits - I've inserted a link here.

Looking forward to getting to know a bit more about you!

(By the way - you might want to have a look at your DoppleMe - some of the code is visible. You may have to enter the code manually as opposed to cutting & pasting it into your profile; the same happened to me when I set my account up.)

Thankyou - both for the Citizens Advice link and the Doppleme top tip - which I will attempt to rectify when I get the chance!

I hope that CAB can help.  I took voluntary redundancy back in 1993 and did qualify for benefits, but seeing this is yonks ago I'm sure they'd have changed the goal posts by now.
