Hello,

my girlfriend & her 11 year old daughter have joined me from France & I have been supporting EVERYTHING regarding the child & my girl friend.

I have lived also in France for 15 years moving back 2nd October to retire ( 65 years)

The father ( in France) has paid nothing in the child's 11 years & France justice works incredibly slow, especially when you have money to block progress.

Is there anyway I can get help with expenses ?

Hopefully my girl friend will find a job, because all expenses are coming out of my pension & money accruing from retirement. At this rate I will be broke in time.

Any advice would be helpful

cheers

Geoff

Hello Geoff

This website is to support single parents who arebringing up children on their own but I can give you some brief information which I hope will be helpful

Make sure you are claiming everything you are entitled to, to start with. Click here to fill in a quick check form.

Secondly, it is very difficult obtaining money from a parent who is abroad but with some countries there are reciprocal arrangements, click here to see here.

Your partner will hopefully find work, her daughter is older now and as you have retired she will not need to worry about childcare after school etc. One of the best ways to find work nowadays is by looking online, start with the website of your local newspaper and there will be a jobs section there which should also appear online.
