Sixteen year old has just gone to town with his mate, just as a black cloud comes over.

I think he may get wet.

We tend not to share these forums with our children, Mark66, and although I appreciate you don't know everyones' circumstances, we strongly advocate that parents speak in respectful way about the other parent when discussing things with the children. However, there are some families where there is no contact with the other parent and there are others where dreadful abuse has taken place.

We keep things anonymous so that parents CAN have a bit of a rant if they want and the other parent does not know who it is. Furthermore, providing this anonymous outlet for parents means they are LESS likely to let their emotions about their "ex" spill over into their parenting.

It feels to me that you are not very happy on this site, Mark66; you wanted to know about the professional qualifications of the staff team on the other thread and now you are questioning the content of parents' messages. Messages which contravene the Forum rules will be edited or deleted, that is why we have the four of us keeping an eye on things.

Mark, I would like you to stay with us and join in the chat and the circle of support we have developed here and it feels inappropriate for me to spend time "defending" or "justifying" what we are. So I ask you please to accept us as we are and tell us about your day and how your son is doing at school and what your plans are for the weekend Smile

Oh sparkling, I suppose it is a silly question to ask whether he has taken a coat....they don't "do" coats do they?

Hazeleyes, I am glad that C is doing better. Have you recovered from the bills yet?

PQ hope the time with your parents goes well.

Youngest has just rolled in from work, he slept at a friend's last night and looks rather pale and wan Smile We might get a Chinese tonight though and that will perk him up.

What is everyone doing over the weekend? Do you think C will be up to some fresh air, Hazeleyes?

I'm sitting here with a grumbling tummy wishing someone would make me some tea :-)

Now I know what I'd like, and not there's not a cat's chance of it being made for me, so need to boot myself out of the chair to get on with it - as I now have my mind set on this particular meal.

Slight problem as I can hardly move after sweeping hall and putting out chairs and shifting tables for the AGM yesterday.

Wish me luck :-D

That will be nice to take him out for a chinese Louise :-)

Coats are for whimps, I believe 8-))  And he learnt that from his sister!  To be fair, he did put a jumper on.

The sun's coming out now, so I can imagine them steaming around Asda.

Not sure what plans are for weekend Louise. Am sure it would do C some good to get some fresh air though. Chinese sounds lovely, am sooooo jealous.

Hi

Interesting comments - not exactly sure what you mean. Did I break a forum rule, if I did please explain the rule that I broke. Perhaps I should keep my comments in a male chatroom on this forum, is that what is preferred?

My son is doing very well at school (so much better than before), he has friends that call for him and it is excellent that he has settled in so well.

Too much mess on the table (mine, I have to say - scouty stuff and the old printer still on there too along with the new - AGM's fault...  And I had to take car to garage to have some peace and quiet - I mean MOT.

I've not had any paracetamol yet, so I'll chuck some down and try again later.  Just the need might make me cope.  Daughter will swish them once they're in the pan.  She won't beat the eggs though... How difficult is an ommelleteeeeellllleeee to make - lets not mention how difficult to spell.

Am off to bed pretty soon. Has been rather a long day. Must get C's homework from a friend, and he can get cracking on that tomorrow. Oh what joys we'll have!

Hope the chinese was nice Louise. We ended up with beans on toast. Not quite as exotic as yours Frown

Oh we didn't go out, we had a takeaway but it was still a treat.

Sparkling hope you got your omelette. Is is worth getting one of those slicer things for choppping?

Mark66 that's brill that your son has settled and has local friends, it seems to be easier when they are smaller, I mean they have more resilience. Is he involved in any local activities like football or judo? My boys used to like doing things with Beavers and Cubs.

Hazeleyes, I hope C's appetite continues to improve over the weekend. Are you able to put your feet up? I know you have been working hard caring for him this week,

PQ, Looby, Hopeful, hope you are all ok.

I am working this morning...did all the counselling stats for three months yesterday and have to go in and get them on the computer then I have a session with a client there too.The publicity for the new parents of teenagers group has gone out to schools this week so we will see if there are any takers, hope so as it has been a long-held dream of mine to get a successful group going.

I'm sure it'll be a huge success Louise Smile  You worked hard yesterday, so hope you'll be able to find some relaxing time, just for you, later.

I'll be just pottering around today, doing a bit here and a bit there. Not sure what the bits are yet, but I do know there are loads!Laughing

Sun is shining here too, but I have to have a paperwork day.  Especially now I have a printer that's working - well it was yesterday!

I need to sort out a router though, as our is only half working.

My internet provider is upping its price again, so I need to change.  While I don't like the idea of having my eggs all in one basket, I'd be mad not to really.

My MiL phoned yesterday evening - we didn't go as some of the children have colds, and she doesn't want to catch one... - and we had such a laugh.  Miss FiL so much though.

It would have been Jill's birthday on Monday.  It's funny, while I think of her loads, I am thinking of her differently somehow, now me turning 50 is out of the way.

Daughter has gone for a driving lesson.  She's starting to enjoy it now.

I hope everyone has a peaceful weekend.

Hey Sparkling. Glad your daughter is enjoying the lessons now. Hopefully you'll get to see MIL next week. It is silly to go, with the chance of her getting a cold. You'll never forget Jill, and understandably you still think of her. Perhaps the turning 50 thing, is because she and you used to talk about it?

Can't muster any enthusiam whatsoever here. At least I've had a bath!! Just having lunch, then shall try and muster something up!!

Ah you have had a bath hazeleyes. And I have a had a shower so we are both squeaky clean Innocent Seen my client, done all my stats, been to the shops....

Sparkling, whilst I have the same provider for phone, Tv and internet, I also pay £6 a month for an Internet dongle with another provider, just as a back up for the original one going wrong (which it does rather a lot, although they gave us a new router after my latest Victor Meldrew incident)

Reading a book called The Song of Achilles. He is just arriving at Troy....

Good evening all!

I am shattered! As J'd dad is away on holiday I have got to keep him to myself all weekend. Yay Laughing. We've been to an amusement park all day. Been on the log flume twice, various rides (why do all childrens rides either bounce you up and down or spin you around??),up ladders, down slides, on a zip wire......then an hours drive home. J of course fell asleep before I got out of the car park. We've had a brilliant day but have come back to house looking like a bomb has dropped. I was actually shocked when we walked in. My house is usually spotless on a Saturday as J isn't here. Erm not today. In my defence, we left at half seven this morning for J's swimming lesson before going to the amusement park. I have decided that it will all still be there tomorrow so have put my feet up. J is excited about helping me clean up tomorrow. Bet it doesn't last!!

Agreed it is sometimes nice just to chill Smile Looby your day sounds fantastic, and if J is not so keen on the cleaning today, I suggest doing it to music, singing along, children seem to find that very amusing, or setting a target...can you tidy away all these toys in the box before the end of the Postman Pat song etc,

Hi tears for fears, you ARE doing it right. It is not a live chat room, we leave messages here and you can read it at any time and post your own message.

Hi everyone,

Hope you've all been having a great weekend. My parents are still here. They've been buzzing through my house doing lots of odd jobs. Dad has sorted out the computer and put together some kitchen chairs and mum is doing the ironing...yay mum Smile. Girls are with their dad and I am supposed to be doing some work.....well maybe in a minute Wink

Hello tearsforfears, nice to meet you. Is it noisy near the airport, or do you get used to it? I live quite close to a motorway and I don't hear it anymore.

Hope you put your feet up last night looby and enjoyed a rest, sounds like you had a busy day, fun though.

Hello everyone,

It's my last day on here again for a while. Planning a roast veggie dinner for later on this evening - halfway through making the stuffing for my roast squash, just veg to prep & gravy to make!

The weather here has beeen vile, so have made no in road with the washing which seems to have sprung from nowhere in a couple of days. I loathe drying wet clothes indoors, not least becasue we live in a flat so all the cooking smells leech into them, no matter where I put the clothes horse Frown

Hello tearsforfears (after the '80's band?!). I used to live a stone's throw from Gatwick, so I know what you mean about the smog. Hope you're getting to grips with One Space now.

Looby, is your place all ship shape & squeaky clean again today? (Mine is FAR from it!)

Sparkling, pq - what have you got up to today?

hazeleyes - hope all is well in your world & that C has continued to improve.

So long for now!

Hi Mary, I too hate drying clothes indoors as the only place to put the clothes horse is in my bedroom so it ends up looking like a chinese laundry. Luckily after a forecast of rain it has been fine and dry here so got everything on the line. Nice to 'see' you this week.

Stelth tidying is my favourite kind sparklinglime, I do it to my daughters room from time to time, its the only way to have a good clearout of all her tat!!

Well my parents have gone, we got on really well and have moved on and left behind the issues from earlier in the year. We have made plans for half term and they have agreed to look after the girls again Cool. I feel very relieved.
