Hi pq, I have a friend in boston too, fingers crossed all is well over there. I hope you have a lovely snuggly evening!

Hey sparklinglime, computers are sooo annoying sometimes aren't they. I have recently been harping on at my daughter about how much fun there is to be had without a computer, that night the internet down. I think for about an hour we were both in a state of schock and loss!

Hi hazeleyes, how are you today? I am sure you can't hear us because you will be hoovering!! Wink I hope your evening went well. I was wondering what you could do to make it more pleasant for you??

Hi everyone else, I hope that your Tuesdays are peaceful and content.

Hello everyone

Just catching up after a couple of days off. Kiera your son is having a fab time. Have you been anywhere with your other children? Sparkling it sounds as if some of the ideas you have read on here about work have given you food for thought. I do think (you know I have always thought this) that you can in the meantime cut down the amount of time you spend at work, you have so much else going on. Is Scouts on this week, with ie being half term?

PQ and hazeleyes, you are both child-free and although we crave those times, it can be very strange when it happens! Hope life is not TOO quiet for you both. I suppose it gives us time to sit down and think about what we do (or don't do) that is just for US, without the children. This is important not just for self-esteem but so that it is easier to give the children more freedom as they grow because we are panicking less about being on our own.

Hopeful hope you are feeling better

I am with Anna on the dark evenings, I love getting the curtains shut and into my Pjs

Had a lovely time with eldest but I took a picnic lunch and he loved his stacker box, he said have you done a secret survey of my cupboards? you have thought of everything I have run out of, I only had four tea bags and I was saving them for when you came. Awwww. Yesterday I had two counselling clients and I also had a posh coffee, treated myself to a lovely bunch of flowers too Smile and they look lovely on the hearth. Off to see a friend later as it is her birthday

Any Hallowe'en plans? Youngest wanted to go trick/treating until I pointed out that if you are 18, and 6 ft 2  it would probably be illegal. I said he could be in charge of dishing out the treats here.  This means he will answer the door a maximum of twice, pinch a mini Twix from my stash, then leave me to do the rest.

Your day sounded lovely with your son Louise. A busy day for you yesterday too. I love flowers, and never really treat myself to them. I should do, as they brighten up the room as well don't they?

No Halloween plans here. Don't get any callers either really. Last year, C and I were knocking at our windows, when we saw the children passing, just so they realised our door was down the path to the side!!

C rang me last night. He cannot get a connection for his internet, and is desperate to get on it. I was trying to help him, but couldn't. I have called my phone company just now, but they cannot help as it's a different phone line. All I wanted from them, was how to find the bit, where he can type all the details in. So, very confused as to why they couldn't help with that part!! Hopefully, my nephew will have sorted it for him, though going by the last visit, this won't be done!!

I moved my bedroom around yesterday. That's why I couldn't hear you Anna. I was indeed hoovering (only that room though)

Hope you all have a good day. Hoping to get rid of the two piece furniture today. Did ask a neighbour yesterday, and he seemed delighted, so he should be knocking today. That still leaves me with the three seater, more than enough for C and I, and certainly will make living room much bigger.

Oh, and I'm now reading Madeline, written by her Mum. Some of the proceeds go to helping finding her. That's the reason for not much hoovering, am too busy with the Kindle Tongue Out

The fella came to look at two seater, and is going to have itSmile If not collecting today, he'll be back in morning, so I've seperated it already. Now to think about organising the furniture. C rang me, nephew won't do the internet for himSurprised But then, I knew that all along, so hardly a surprise. I just don't understand the reason why. I told C to tell him all he has to do is ring the provider, and they will talk him through it. Same way as it was done when sister got her laptop. Could it be any easier? Still the answer was no, which I heard!

Hi hazeleyes! Ooh I'm excited about your new bedroom with clean carpet! Tomorrow, if possible, can you go out and buy yourself some flowers to put on your chest of drawers? Or perhaps in the kitchen/front room, somewhere where you will see them as you go about your day? Smile Very important to treat yourself.

Thats so frustrating about C's internet connection isn't it. However there is nothing you can do this end, so you have to be assertive with him, remind him it isn't the end of the world if he can't get online (ducks for cover!) and change the subject.

Great news about the neighbour taking your furniture, that always gives me a real feel good factor!

Today is the last day of my daughters childhood!! Ok so I know they don't suddenly become completely independent, but wow! I did it! Tomorrow is her 18th and for her present I am taking her clothes shopping and maybe a bite to eat. Can't wait! I did want to go for a Champagne tea at Harvey Nicks, but they wanted £20 each for one glass of bubbly and a couple of sarnies with no crusts Money Mouth

Anyway, I hope everyone has a lovely evening - happy halloween! Tongue Out

Hi all,

Being on my own this week hasn't been too bad louise. I did nothing but lounge around yesterday evening and watch tv, I really enjoyed it. Tonight probably much the same, although I do have an urge to do some cooking Surprised. I'm really getting into it. I'm going to do the parkrun on saturday morning, I've been moaning about not being able to run now I'm on my own, but actually I don't think it will be too difficult to organise.

How's it going for you hazeleyes? Sounds like you've been doing a bit of reorganising at home. C wont recognise the place when he gets back Wink

Forgot to pick some sweets up on the way home from work so have decided not to open the door to trick or treaters tonight. Makes me feel like a right old meany as I would normally have loads, hope I don't get egged Surprised

Pq, that's exactly what I'm thinking, re the eggs!!

I have had a really lazy day (another) Am loving the fact I don't have to do dinner if I don't want, just being able to doss on the settee without feeling guilty.

Tomorrow, I have the boiler check, but they don't commit to a time, so just have to hang around until they arrive! Hoping to also book into hairdressers. Friend is so busy, that she can't do it, and I'm desperate, so shall see. Would like to return to work looking 'nice'.

Anna, A Happy Birthday to your daughter for tomorrow. Hope she has a wonderful day. Will you buy a bottle of champagne instead? Doesn't have to be an expensive one, or maybe some fizzy wine?
