Hi pq, how awful to find your moggy like that, but so pleased to hear that you did find her and got her to the vets and that she is coming home shortly, I imagine she will be very spoilt tonight Smile

sparkling! A BBQ that is not scout or housing assoc related - wowee! I hope you have a super time and stay late because you can't drag yourself away! Sorry to hear about your arm, it does sound uncomfortable, and how shocking that a local woman died in child birth, that poor family.

The sky is now blue here and it is very hot. I hope you both and everyone else online, have a lovely evening Laughing

Good morning everyone!

A sticky night and I hope everyone has managed some sleep.

Glad your cat was OK in the end PQ, a terrible worry for you and the girls.

Sparkling, sorry about your arm, let's hope it eases soon. Did you enjoy the BBQ?

Youngest went off on holiday last night with seven others. They arrived Ok but one of the group had a load to drink on the plane and is already in hospital! It may be callous but I have texted him saying the rest of you have to get on and enjoy your holiday (I know son has saved up all year for this) Hopefully the lad has learned his lesson, he is the one who was suicidal, he has needed a great deal of looking after in recent weeks.

How is everyone else? I am booked in for an Indian Head Massage today, whoopee!

Morning all,

The indian head massage sounds lovely louise, I could really do with something like that as I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself at the moment. Not sure whats wrong, I think its a combination of lots of things. I just feel a bit negelcted Frown

The cat is doing remarkably well considering how old she is.

Hope you stayed and got the most out of the BBQ last night sparkling. Also hope your arm is feeling less painful today.

I stayed late - I lost track of time really, and it was still going on when I left.

That's a shame the lad drank so much, and I hope the rest do enjoy their holiday Louise.

pq I feel this weather is wearing a lot of people down.  It was 18 degrees when I was on my way home this morning, which is why everyone was still sitting about chatting and laughing.  It seems to have been too hot to do any of that during the day.

I've a day off today.  I need to have a scouty day before a lifestyle assessment thing this afternoon.

We've had some rain here, but I've not noticed any storms.

Hi all

kiera - I love Indian Head Massage! Last time I had one, I came home and sat in the kitchen for about 2 hours not moving, I was blown away!!

sparklinglime, are you saying that you came home from the bbq this morning??! Glad you have a day off and hope you caught some zzzzzz's before your lifestyle assessment thing.....how did that go?

pq, big hugs to you, try and see the positives around you. Do you have any plans for the weekend or is it quiet? If you have nothing then treat yourself to something, if you are busy then I hope you have a good one :)

Louise I am wondering if you have been floating around after your IHM or whether you have sat in silence (like i did) I hope it was wonderful either way :)

Happy Wednesday everyone Smile

I have quite a lot on at the moment, mainly at work, and there's a lot of things I haven't been able to finish so I feel like I have things hanging over me. being tired doesn't help! at times like these I can feel quite alone as I have no one to share the load.

sorry a bit to moany tonight!

Loving the weather! Laughing Thoroughly enjoying work, I definitely picked the right job.

No3 son a bit uncertain again, I don't think he's been working this week, but he's not in a talkative mood at all. He is now not wanting to do NCS programme either. Big sigh. Will try again in the morning - it should be the induction day tomorrow. Maybe he'll see sense....

Daughter getting excited - she'll be 15 on Friday. No1 son coming, and she wants Chinese for dinner....

Morning all

Wow, Hopeful, your daughter will be 15, time flies as they say. The celebrations sound good. Fingers crossed you have more luck with your son today Smile

PQ feels like you are snowed under at the moment, I feel the "L" word coming on, a list, just to help you prioritise what needs to be done but also so you can put it away in a drawer if you want to. I hate it when there are lots of things that are unfinished so I do sympathise. Hope you enjoy your dinner with your friend

Hi kiera, how are the boys enjoying the holidays? anything planned before your caravan weekend?

Sparkling, it feels as if you are looking at things differently these days, looking after YOU a bit more and I am glad to read that as it's really important. How did the assessment go?

Hazleyes, woo-hoo you are finally off for the holidays!!!

Indian Head massage was good and she also had a "go" at my back where there was a really knotty bit. I need to watch my posture apparently. I was reading that you have to imagine a light stuck to your upper chest and that you cannot walk forward unless you keep the beam shining directly forward. Interesting.

Meeting a friend later on. Had a terse text from son telling me that everything is ok and to stop worrying. Might as well tell me to stop breathing!

I laughed about your son Louise, I bet he would notice if you stopped texting and probably (secretly of course) miss them!

Feeling brighter today, had a lovely evening with my friend. We always go somewhere with a voucher and find it very satisfting when the bill comes and we can see how much we saved. We're planning a weekend away with our children for the begining of august, so something fun to look forward to.

Hopeful, its so nice to hear you are enjoying your job. I hope your son is ok today.

I am a listaholic (if thats a word?) Louise, but I've noticed my work list has got a bit out of hand, so I'm going to re-write it today and start tackling things one at a time.

Hi Hopeful, I am sorry to read that No3 son didn't go to the NCS programme. Did he have other plans or was he just determined not to go? As frustrating as it is, this time will pass, he will be doing something else before you know it. So good to hear that you are enjoying your job, good for you. I hope you have a super day tomorrow with your grown up girl!

pq, I am a lover of lists too! So therapeutic! Glad you had a lovely evening with your friend, much needed by sounds of things. The weekend away sounds good too, where will you go?

Louise, glad the IHM was good, keep that light shining and leave your son alone!

Hopefully they will find the chap really soon, kiera. I imagine they are more likely to be searching addresses of known associates or where there has been a tip off rather than random places.

Hope your daughter has a good birthday, Hopeful and that there is something else for your son soon.

PQ the meal sounds lovely and I agree it is a real kick when you see how much you have saved, I love it when it says that at the end of the supermarket receipt. Good luck with the list!

Haha Anna, I am restraining myself from texting my son, he needs to just have a good time. How was yoga?

I seem to have been living at the counselling place this week. Clients on Tuesday, meeting on Wednesday, there in the evening Thursday so a new counsellor wasn't on her own in the building with a client, there again today with a client of my own then am doing the quarterly stats at home and will go in yet again on Saturday, to put them on the computer.

What's everyone up to today?

kiera I hope your friend has gotten over the shock of having the police charging round her home.

Hopeful, happy day today :)

Yoga was delicious as always thank you for asking! I dont know if I have said it on here before, but because it is 37 degrees it is sweltering and then whilst you are exercising, you get hotter and hotter, at the end we lie down and rest, relax and clear our minds. At this point our teacher opens a couple of the doors to let a slight breeze comes in....wow, it is like being kissed all over!! I absolutely love it! Smile

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Here in Bristol is the Harbourside Festival, last year an estimated 300,000 people were out and about. It was really packed, so this year I have decided to avoid avoid avoid, leave it to the youngsters!

Morning and hope everyone is chipper today.

PQ good luck with the bathroom, it will be nice when it is finished! Top tip from me is to find a friendly neighbour who will let you use their shower. When I had ours done it was a major thing. Before, we had a separate loo then the bathroom just contained a bath and basin. So I had the loo replaced and in the bathroom itself I had the bath taken out and a large shower, a basin and a second loo put in. Had both floors tiled and the bathroom completely tiled on the walls as well. Of course this took a while, we were never without a loo, but there were several trips to the swimming pool for showers and had a rota for the use of the kitchen sink in the morning Wink

Sparkling, I really wanted to go on that "Sun Sex and Suspicious Parents" programme! Had a text yesterday and all is well, phew. His bedroom here looks very clean and tidy, that will last about 5 seconds after he returns. How are things in your house?

Hope everyone has a good day. I have had a mega busy week so glad to have a quiet day now

What a day yesterday.  The things you do for your children.  Spent all day in what I can only describe as an overheated sauna - a water fun place up the coast.  The day from hell for me as I was roasting, but my youngest, his friend and his friend's Mum enjoyed it.  Treated the boys to a drive-through on the way home.  The Mum is like me, not too keen on the food there...

I took my kindle along though, so did have a good read for a while.  We were there for over SIX HOURS!!!!!!!!!

I'm in work all day today as my colleague's off.  Monday's are never good, and without her there it will be hard.  Plenty to do though to keep me occupied.  And it will be cool.

We had some torrential showers yesterday evening.  I went for a drive with my camera, only to see this wall of rain coming over from the moutains, so I turned around - got soaked walking down to the house though...

Daughter later went for a stroll in the drizzle - T-shirt on, no jacket, only to be caught in another downpour on the way back.  She's as mad as me.

I hope everyone is ok.

Well my saturday didn't quite pan out how I expected. My friend tipped a freshly made cup of tea down herself so I ended up helping her sort herself out with ice and cold towels. She was very lucky and escaped with just a couple of small blisters but it could've been a lot worse.

Still not ordered my bathroom stuff, but I'm aiming to do it tonight as the sale at Vicoria Plumb ends at the end of the month, nothing like a deadline to focus the mind!

sparklinglime, sorry to hear that you got soaked, did you get any photos at all? When I started reading your post I was thinking you might have got some amazing pics of the clouds and rain! My daughter also got soaked walking around in vest top and shorts Smile I hope your day in the office is constructive and passes quickly without too many difficulties.

Louise your message made me laugh, when my daughter went away, her room was the tidiest it had been in a long time and I actually used to go in there to admire how lovely it was!!

I had a quiet weekend at home mostly which was what the doctor ordered. We had torrential rain, but also sunshine and heat too, so good all round!

I hope everyone's week is off to a good start :)

Hi all.

Things not been good here. Ex has now decided that he wants me to either buy him out of the house or to sell it and split 50/50. He has done some calculations and had decided that for £20 per month more I can afford to buy him out! Agreement was house was safe for me and J until J was 18. He has decided he is fed up of renting and wants a mortgage, but can't get a mortgage while he is named on this one. Doesn't just want his name taking off, he wants money. I told him that I wouldn't be able to afford another mortgage for a decent house on my salary. Thats my problem apparently, I'll just have to rent if not. He had me so upset last weekend with his callous attitude. I have emailed the legal expert who has put my mind at rest some, pointing out that i have a strong position and that ex can't force me to sell. I also talked to ex and pointed out that there is nothing round here for sale or rent, J would have to move away from all the friends he has made at school, we would have to move away from family etc. I do have an appointment with the bank tomorrow to see what my options are. Not holding out much hope, but at least I will have been and asked. The fact that I have been paying the mortgage on my own for the last two and a half years doesn't mean anything to them, as technically i can't afford it, although on paper I can. We shall see what tomorrow brings. I am getting to the point of having had enough. Anyone who has any spare rich men, please send them my way!

Hi all, back from my week in menorca. Was lovely 38 degrees most afternoons so we mainly hopped in an out of the pools or the sea. There was a little kiddies splash pool which my 1 yr old loved. He's a proper water baby! Needless to say I hardly sat down all week. Wakin up to rain is a bit of a shocker! Especially with all the washing to get dry :(

Good news is I can get enough of a mortgage to buy ex out with help from my dad. Now just need to agree on some figures and he is being totally unreasonable at the moment! So feel your pain Looby! he also wants to give me minimum monthly amount now. suggested maybe i'd jut leave kids with him and see how he coped on that amount of money. wouldnt even cover child care! Looby my bank will lend me 5 times my income and they take into account money from ex So hope you are pleasantly surprised?! Good luck x

Also found out yesterday he is seeing someone. He accidentally sent a text meant for her, to me. Nice way to find out! Have my counseling appointmentithes morning so will chat it through. Really like her thanks so much Louise for suggesting it x

Hope you all have a good day x

Hello everyone. Just read quickly through the posts in here. Pq, how is your cat doing? Hope the girls enjoyed the sport club today. Sparkling, how is your arm? I'm so pleased that you managed a day out with your friend, even though it was too hot for you!! Louise, are you still resisting the urges to text your son? How's his friend doing? Hi to sweaty Anna, it makes me hot just reading your posts about that!! Hello to everyone else in chat room.

Yes Louise, now finished work, though I did go in yesterday to do some jobs, and going back Thursday. I need the money, so no choice really, but it was okay. Badly hurt the back of my leg though, closing a gate, and the bottom caught me. Wow, did I use choice words, the pain was awful, and today it is still sore, and swollen. Have to see the nurse tomorrow, so I might see if she'll take a look! Great start to the hols eh? Apart from that, all is okay here. Very tired, but that's mainly due to not sleeping properly (I think)

Hope everyone is well today. Cooled down a lot, so it is much more bearable isn't it?

Morning hope everyone is Ok today.

I am battening down the hatches here as son's flight arrives in Manchester in two hours, haha Tongue Out I have had a few texts but have tried to stay out of it and let him get on with his holiday.

Hazeleyes, your poor leg. Yes, I magine the air was blue and you said "oh my, oh golly gosh" See what the nurse says today and let us know. Hopefully you slept better with the cooler air. I actually managed to have the window shut for a while last night.

Did you get the bathroom stuff ordered, pq? Good that you have found a club the girls like. Are you feeling any brighter?

Rosie glad you have had a good hol though it doesn't sound very relaxing for yoo-hoo if you were up and down like a yo-yo. Great about the mortgage though

And on that topic....Looby, that was a bit of a bolt from the blue. Get back together with me? no? oh well buy me out then. As the Legal Expert says, he can't force you to sell. Some people have an agreement where you only pay a share of the equity over when the child is 18 (or if you decide to sell before) I had one of these but the disadvantage was that the house had gone up in value in that time so I had to pay him more (at that stage I took out a mortgage to cover it, and that was ok with my wages at the time) How did you get on at the bank?

Kiera how are you? When do you go to the caravan?

Sparkling, it's nearly August Embarassed yes that time of year again, heh heh. How's work?
