Skells

Hi everyone! I'm new but I recently spotted this GREAT site with lots of helpful tips, so thank you all for your wonderful advice.

Does anyone know...I've just signed on for the very first time and I'm on contributory-based Job Seekers Allowance. The DWP website says that I can work up to 16 hours a week without my JSA being affected, but it doesn't state if there's an earnings cap? I'm an IT specialist so I might earn £50 an hour or more. The work is entirely sporadic so I might receive a call to work 6 hours one week, and nothing for weeks thereafter - even then, I have to invoice and wait for payment. Is there a limit to what I can earn per week?

Thanks again,

Skells.

Hello yes there is a limit to earnings and it is pretty low in terms of the work you are talking about doing, please email our benefits adviser direct (click) to check regarding your own personal circumstances. Do mention in the email if anyone else in the househould receives any other benefits and also whether anyone has disabilites.
