Your song

Thinking about your memories, what special song reminds you of a particular time in your life, say when your child was born or it was a special song for you and your partner....do you still like the song or do you now hate it?

For me, there are a few records that hold memories, some of them rather cringeworthy. My favourite, though, was "See my baby jive" by Wizzard, it reminds me of my first boyfriend  I also love "Mambo number 5", which was when I was suddenly single again :D

I can remember the records we had when I was a kid, I had my own record player and I even had a pinky and perky record, how embarassing. I liked Spandau ballet when I was a teenager, especialy Gold but I didnt wear any of the gear. We had The Power of Love, when we were married, that thing you do for the first dance on the night do, and now I dont like hearing that record as it reminds me of my ex. Now I try to keep up with what the kids like, they like Neyo so I am cool!

You will be very lucky indeed Gamma, if your kids think you are cool. My teenager won't even be seen in public with me!

Oh, I have loads! The first song that H#1 and I danced to was 'Don't you forget about me' by Simple Minds. I still love that song. Our first slow dance was 'Careless Whisper' by George Micheal. I can't listen to that anymore. I hate 'I believe I can Fly' by R Kelly though, it was his favourite song.

I sang 'Head over Feet' by Alanis Morrisette to H#2 when we first started seeing each other. Not long before I left him he took me back to where I sang it expecting me to sing it to him again and I refused. I had actually had 'Torn' by Natalie Imbruglia stuck in my head for weeks  He was p*ssy for a week cos I wouldn't sing him our song.

My faves (connected to new bf) atm are 'Wish you were here' by Pink Floyd, 'X&Y' by Coldplay and 'Good Enough' by Evanescence.

Wow, what a selection, Rose. You know that they are making mp3s with a bigger and bigger memory? they now say "you can store 2000 songs" I always panic as I can't think of 2000 I would like on it, but I bet you wouldn't have a problem.

I am quite good at those pop quizzes on the radio when you have to guess the year, I think back to what boyfriend I had, how shallow is that?

My favourite album is still Pink Flloyd's Dark Side of the Moon
