Why? Why? Why? and how to you know?

Just thought I'd share with you my ingenious solution to the never ending question they I get from both my children... of, how do you know?

It drives me mad, why, why, why and then, how do you know?

This is what I do, and so far over the last few days it's been working quite well : ) to the infuriating question of, how do you know? that generally comes after an in depth explanation from me.... is, I tell them, because when I was a little boy I LISTENED TO MY DAD, paid attention in school, learnt how to read and then went off and read lots of books.

It may not seam like much but my kids ask questions ALL day, it never ends and to, after having explained, in detail, to have them then ask for sources.... nhgnghgnghgngn!!!

: )

Slightly more infuriating is when they ask you a question, you spend the time to give them an explanation and then they proceed to tell you, no! no no no, you're wrong that's wrong, that's not it. See, I thought the know it all stage didn't start until they were teenagers, but apparently not, it starts when they are SIX!

The buggers!.

And now I'm going to go and drag them up a mountain in the vain hop that they will somehow come home later exhausted and go straight to bed, leaving me to drink my Friday night wine in peace.

Ahh what adorable children you have!

Maybe you should let them watch the telly that will give them all the answers they need!!

What used to really infuriate me (and actually still does) is when you go into extraordinary lengths to explain clearly, carefully and correctly an answer to their question then you realise that they are not listening any more!

Anyway! I hope you have had a fabulous time on the mountains, it is beautiful weather with us here, I hope you have the same, but no sunstroke and they get home and crash out, so you and your bottle of wine can have an intimate evening with no interruptions!!

Happy slurping Bubblegum ;)

I used to hate it when they asked me a question and I told them the answer and they said "you're wrong; my teacher says it's so-and-so" I used to resent the teacher until the day I went to parent's evening and the teacher said to me "Do you know, I love teaching but at least I can go home at teatime, how on earth parents cope with that all the time is beyond me!"

Yeah! I get that too :)

The only people shattered from a whole day out walking and playing in parks and running in the sea and along the beach are me and the dog.

Jolly good, I presume that the wine had a greater effect sooner and you probably had some left over for Saturday too!!
