hello Bethanysmummy

How are you doing? it is great to have you here and I hope you will stick around as there is lots of chat here as well as information and online support.

That's hard work, bringing up a baby from more or less the word go, on your own. She is at a lovely age now, with the world of walking and talking all about to happen! Do you go to any local toddler groups near where you live?

When I see people with little babies I get all jealous and wish I could go back and live all that again or have some more or something, they are amazing when they are all small and seeing everything for the first..

Good luck : )

Hi Bethanysmummy....hope you are well.  Awww such a lovely age, they are learning so much and getting their own little personalities.  I have two daughters age nearly 13 and 3.  I was with their dad for nearly 13years and we've been separated since just before I fell pregnant with our youngest.  We did try to make it work but it was impossible, but I went into the pregnancy knowing I would be a single mum and it would be hard and even though I have more issues than eastenders I love being a single mum.  Don't get me wrong its not always easy and we do face some nightmare situations but on a whole I really enjoy it.  Having the girls with such a big age gap can be quite hard to juggle but when I look at my girls and what such beautiful children it makes it all worth while.  I wanted to call my youngest Bethany...such a pretty name.  Will stop waffling on now anyway.  Hope you have a good day.xx

Hi Bethanysmummy, welcome to One Space. I have been on my own since pregnancy, and have a wonderful 7 year old son. Of course somedays it is hard work, but on the whole I count myself extremely lucky, and it makes my day when I'm congratulated on how he is a credit to me. I hope you and your little girl are having a good day.

Take care

Alison

Hi Bubblegum, I too am the same. There are days where I wish I could turn the clock back and have my son at a baby age again. I do think though this is because I worry about his future and the violent times that we live in. I listen to a friend of mine who has a 13 year old and she is constantly worried about him. I do dread the day when my son starts to go out in the evening, this of course is years away, but time goes so quickly!!! It still doesn't seem possible that already he has reached the age of 7.

Hows your healthy eating and drinking going? Are you managing to get out and about on your bike. It is getting darker and darker outside, and of course it's sods law that come 3.30 the heavens will open!!!!

Take care

Alison

Hi,

I've started riding again now that it's getting warmer, I have been for four weeks now, I walk them to school and then go cycle, I get back about twelve eat some fruit and yogurt have a shower sit down at my pc with some coffee, play my guitar.. and then its nearly time to go get them from school.

So rather leisurely happy days for me at the moment..

Yesterday I cycled up to Llyn Ogwen which is up in Snowdonia on the A5 on the way to Betws Y Coed, dunno if any of that means anything to you... But anyway, It was beautiful and I got such an amazing buzz as I got up there, hard to put into words, just euphoric, can't explain, I cycled past some workmen digging holes (why are they always doing that?) they must have thought I was mad as I had this ridiculous grin on my face, actually they probably thought I was gay or something as I rode past smiling happily at them.

When I got to the top I got a coffee from a small kiosk there, it cost £1,60 MY GOD!!! maybe any of you city dwelling folk might not bat an eyelid, but I nearly choked and walked off coffee in hand mumbling jesus christ and sounding just like my dad.. and sat on a little outcrop looking down over a waterfall and along a massive glaciated valley across towards Angelsey... just beautiful... I took a picture on my mobile phone and sent it to my sister, just to annoy here while she was sat in some meeting in an office.... sorry to go on.

Mine is seven too : ) he asked if he could start walking to school on his own.. and I said NOOOO!!!! you bloody well cant, in fact I'm going to walk you to the bus stop and kiss you and hug you goodby when you start going to big school.

He laughed... nervously.

I just got back from Conwy with my nephew Sparklinglime : )

It's good for the mind, cycling in the open air up the mountains on your own with nothing but to daydream and sort everything out in your head... and it keeps you physically healthy too... and the scenery.

I love it.

later.

That sounds breathtaking. I have visited the area on holiday but not on a bike heheh and yes, it is beautiful.

As for the kissing, my 15 year old allocates one kiss to me at bedtime whereas the 20 year old is very affectionate now he is out of the teen stage.

Alisoncam, yes they are a worry when they get older but also it is really rewarding to see them learning things and doing things and becoming a potential young adult.

I used to cycle a lot before I had the children.  Although it was mainly around my home town, and up the lanes which were across the road from the laughingly called family home.

Then one day I ended up in the bushes as a cattle truck decided not to slow down.

I started to cycle again with the children.  There's a few cycle paths around.  We lived on the A5 - totally unsafe for the children - so I got a tow bar fitted to my car and got a bike carrier.

I still have my bicycle.  No chance of getting on it again now.  My daughter prefers hers, but I can't face selling it just yet.
