Hi Anna..

Prior to becoming a dad I had no real desire to actual become one, but I did and then I became a 'single' dad and then I just got on with it. I think that that would be the case for a good eighty percent of all other men if they were given no choice, as I was and just presented with the situation, parenting is something inherent in us all. I think the whole single dad thing is pretty much the same as it is for women, only we are men, and our X's are women but apart from that, similar issues, similar problems.

My top tip would be, encourage your children as best as you can to be them selves.

My only frustrations have been dealing with other peoples preconceived notions about men and children and the whole bringing them up thing, well that and my mad wife and the courts and the whole benefits system of course.

Moi.

Thanks bubblegum for joining in!  Anyone else got anything to share!  Do you think you have become more compassionate because you are raising a girl? Do you think you have to? Have you read our article about Lone Dads and Daughters?
