GCSE day

I feel so sick.

I'm so glad my son was working, and then we've been busy with the Scouts.

He's confident - which is good, I guess

So why do I feel sick?

If (and I know I should think this way) he's done badly again, he's going to be so absolutely devastated. He's saying he wants to take them again if he has. How can I tell him they won't let him try again? This was a one off.

Will be up early, waiting... Just incase we need to start phoning the college to see if they can help.

Of course, he could pass and the Head will welcome him into the sixth form with open arms - and we'll go and celebrate with an icecream.

I feel so sick.

Hi Sparklin! :D

I know how you feel. My eldest will get some results todat too! well if her tutor phones them through.
she still has another year at school so the rest will be next year, but she has taken her Art & some of her Science models, so we are waiting on them, she may fail Science, so will be upset if she does, she is anxious enough as it is at the moment!
but she should do ok with the Art, so at least that will give her a boost.

Good luck to your son!

He's done it, in the sixth.
A* in IT, which he's so happy about.

He's so happy Pansy. It's like it was a nightmare getting him through the bad days to get this. I was so terrified he'd crash. I'm so ecstatic he hasn't.

My flaming leg locked, dreadful coming down stairs! How frustrating for me 8-)

We'll celebrate tonight now. Whether it's watching a DVD with a bottle of Bulmers(!) or going out for a meal. Will have to make it into the building society to get the last of my money out for that one though!

I really hope your daughter will be happy with her results - thinking of you.

Loads of hugs

Hi Sparkling lime WELL DONE to your boy, you must be over the moon, I am delighted to hear that a celebration is on the cards tonight!!!  I am sure your support has been a wonderful help to him, it is at times like these that all your efforts pay off!

Pansy, I do hope it is good news for your daughter too. :D

My lad is in Year 10 so he has only taken one GCSE, in Spanish (they make them do options early so they have more time for Maths and Science in Year 11) Anyway he got a C! Considering he has "mild but significant" learning difficulties and is hard of hearing at one side due to a deformed ear canal, and was developmentally behind in EVERYTHING, I think that's pretty fab :D

One of his hummed and hahed about going that the other friend said he was fed up and wouldn't go.

So I took them - and the friend who got fed up (I used to say he was my fifth child, he was with us so much when they were growing up).

I HAD AN OMELETTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really nice meal, actually. We had a nice evening. His friend is here now, and they have cider. I'm sure I'm being irrisponsible, but a friend was in asda and said it was ok to get what I got! So sleep over's carry on even when they're almost 18!

Well done to all of you and your children, but especially you, you have carried them through this, supported them and seen them through, keeping calm at all time (naturally).

I feel very proud of everyone...and their children, my girl starts GCSE's this year, so no doubt I will be going through all the stresses and traumas in a couple of years too, hooray!! :D
