Oh no. Big hugs sparklinglime. What was the exam? Can you resit it? Do you know if you failed by much?

Really sorry you're having a bad day. Think how much you have on your plate compared to a lot of others that might have been sitting it. I'm sure you'll do it next time, never give up.

AWWWWWWW :( Noooooooo! Thats' quite a shock to me, how on earth do YOU feel about it?

Bec's right...I wonder how many other people were dealing with four kids and Scouts and a scarily injured leg? Don't be too downhearted....the main thing was to have done the course and stretched your brain. You might get a chance to take the exam again another time? Anyway, no matter what the "results" say, you're still an A+ to us! :D

I'm really gutted, and surprised how much I've cried today.

Sorry, I know I have no reason to moan.

I've just gone over my whole life today, and how I always seem to get it wrong - the bits that go right are good, yes, and I value them.

It's just I have these ambitions in the hope of giving us a good life - and I just can't pass the flaming exams.

I'm flaming stupid to think I had the ability to do them in the first place.

And The Git - he can sit back and wait for his father to die and inherit a house and never need to work again.

I have to get my children through university and driving lessons.

How can I do that being me?

I have absolutely no one I could go and see and cry on their shoulder today. No one. No mum, no dad, no best friend.

Sorry, but today isn't good.

Tomorrow I'll get the books out and start revising for the re-sit in October...

And I've been stupid enough to register with another course that has an exam.

And my leg has been so bad today. Cooking tea was horrendous.

Sorry. Sorry a hundred times over for moaning. I know my life is ok, to be fair. I just hate living this way so much of the time.

I'll be ok tomorrow.

HOw are you today?? Hope things seem a bit brighter. Sometimes everything just gets on top of all of us. I was a right misery the other day, just cried and cried despite things going much better for me than they used to be. Are you managing to sleep? Things are always the worst when I'm tired. You do so well with your kids and you should be very very proud of yourself. You'll nail that exam in October I'm sure. I'm training to be a maths teacher, no idea what you are studying but if I can assist at all let me know.

Hello sparkling

Sorry you had such a horrid Friday  Good to let it all out though and you know you can always come on here to let off steam. I guess it is at times like this that you particularly miss you Mum and your friend. It sounds like one of those days (which we all get) where just EVERYTHING gets on top of you. It is partly because you are making loads of effort to do things and achieve, and when it doesn't come together, it just feels rotten. Hope the rest of the weekend goes better for you. Don't let it put you off another course though. How's your leg today?

Hi sparklinglime  Your post made me want to cry. You are working sooo hard to achieve all that you wish, you should've passed. I blame the examiners!

It is understandable that you then started looking at all the things you feel that you failed in throughout life. I hope today you are making a conscious effort to be aware of all the fab things you have achieved, not least being a great support to others on this site.

Well done you for picking yourself up and gearing up to resit the exams, we are so proud of you.

Time for another treat, methinks, we all need looking after when we have been served a blow.

PS. Next time your leg is hurting, get one of your fabulous children to cook the dinner. They are more than capable. :)

You need a good telling off for putting yourself down like that! you are a very clever person who has many talents from what I can see. I hope you are being nicer to yourself today!

I'm not crying quite so much, but really do feel a complete and total failue with life at the mo.

Filled in the form to resit. Trying to focus on the fact that I only ever did this to learn, not to gain qualifications.

Didn't go to the GP today. I cancelled the appointment. I couldn't face more put downs about me. I can cope with me being negative towards me, but don't think I could cope with sarcasm.

Hope you're all doing ok - or at least as well as you can be.

Hi sparkling lime

I know what you mean about the GP, it could be the final straw. You must remake the appointment when you're feeling a bit stronger.

We have really missed you here. I thought that you must be having some time out and I am sad to hear what a knock this has given you :( You KNOW in your logical mind that you were doing this course to learn and stretch your brain but of course you wanted to pass the exam, that's natural. When will the resit be?

As I said before, you're still an A+ to us! ;)

Louise makes a good point, its not always about the exam its about trying our hardest and learning, thats what we tell our children isn't it?

You are raising 4 children, you have ongoing emotional stuff to deal with ex, car probs, a bad leg, hey - give yourself a break maaan

Facing being overdrawn for the first time in my life. I've spent so much on diesel with my daughter's work experience and taking my son to and from work. He goes on the bus when he can - but this Anglesey, not a brilliant bus service.

I'm just going through a bitter and twisted time. 8-) I know I shouldn't. I have loads to be thankful for.

Its fine to be down, the most important thing is to recognise it and wallow in it for a while, so that you can pick yourself back up again. Otherwise you spend weeks trying to put a brave face on it and never get the chance to give yourself a proper break and review everything.

It must be hard keeping costs down with ferrying teenagers about, just remember in 10 years time, all your money will be your own!! thats what I tell myself anyhow!!

Enjoy your elderberry cordial!

I'm sort of doing ok thank you.

We had a good day yesterday, meeting up with my brother and sister-in-law in Holyhead - they came on a steam train from Liverpool. Delayed on the way, but we had a good afternoon.

Cried when they left - as long as I can remember I seem to have been waving my brother goodbye as he leaves me behind. He's 13 years older than me, so left for university when I was 5! Having a conversation with him can be like pulling teeth, so it's not even as if I miss him really! He was on form yesterday though, and we had a good laugh for an hour or so before the train left. I won't hear from him now until Christmas.

Today is my mum's birthday. Twelve years and eight months since she died, and I still miss her incredibly. My children's lives are so much poorer for not having her in it. My dad died two weeks before my eldest was born, so they never knew him...

Nice day here today. If only I could find my t-shirts! I'm wearing a clean pyjama top, and my eldest is not impressed as he wants me to go to the building society to sort out things to get his account into his name officially. I've said we'll go down later.

Really struggling with money though. Not helping. I know it's going on fuel, and I have to get my son to and from work when there's no buses! Hey ho.

Thinking of sending for one of those sell your gold envelopes that are advertised on tele. I have two unwanted wedding rings in the cupboard!

Nothing would have helped last week. I just cried for days.

Not crying so much now :D Just a bit. Being silly now maybe, and should remember my age 8-)

Friday night was always the - oh heck, how can this be said politely? - older/weaker players. I would go to club on a Friday with a different attitude to that of a Monday night. Good fun, but it was never good exercise! Those who went enjoyed it though.

I've gone over my marks for the exam, and the marks for the three short answers were dreadful. I couldn't see the clock (my fault, I forgot my watch), the invigilator called time and I had to rush an essay and those three answers. The three answers were basically two very basic sentences. If I'd have timed it all, I would have answered them more thoroughly.

I've got my books out and the resit is on 16 October. I'll start properly when the children are back at school. Little point at the mo, as it's too noisy.

I would value your support.

Hello sparkling lime

Sounds sensible not to start your revision until school term. Also I think it is very encouraging that the main probloem was time management in the exam, that is something you CAN and WILL improve on with your watch and some practice.

Sorry you had such an emotional time thinking of your mum's birthday. They say time is a great healer, and so it is, but it does not mean we forget our beloved ones, however much time goes by.

re the gold sales, is there a jeweller in your local town? Do be careful about these firms that are advertised on TV. If you see one you like the look of, search for reviews of it on the Net and see if it is reputable :)

Sparkling,
I need the subject, the examining board, the paper you are sitting, course name and the College or University.

The time you have studied and what feedback you have received during your course.

What information has come back from your result.

What your mood was prior, and during the examination.

Thanks

Oh heck... It's OU.

I wasn't too bad mood wise, considering, but when that invigilator called out an hour to go, I was still on my first essay, and really, I should have been finishing my second and starting on the final part of the paper.

That's when the stomach lurched and the palms got sweaty

My mark for the completed essay was ok.
The marks for the final part were abysmal (however you spell that).

The only information I've had is my mark.

Hi there chaps

I have just started a new online group called Benefit Changes and You, hopefully by the end of August we will have a new part of the site, where we will be able to give you more information and have some useful discussions about moving from Income support to JSA amongst other things.

Please will you have a look at the new group as there is a request that you watch Channel 4 tonight @ 9pm, there is a programme which will follow 10 single parents and their experience of being pushed back into work. And we want to know what you think of the programme and the ideas that are presented.

Thanks in advance! :D

I would love it if you could manage to watch it as your input will be invaluable without a shadow of a doubt.

If you can't manage it, don't worry, I don't want to add any more pressure in your very busy life.
