This is more a question about if there's a cheap way or funding available to put towards driving lessons, as I feel I have had to miss out on applying for several part time job opportunities as I don't drive yet.

I can work part time with out a car, but my locality is quite restricted to two places, as is the childcare that I can use.

Any ideas or suggestions, or advice would be very welcome, thank you muchly ^_^ xXx

Hello clevermummy2012

I agree that being able to drive does open up work opportunities, but sadly I don't know of any schemes to assist people. The one thing I have seen people do is to take one of those one-week intensive courses but even special offers seem to cost about £800 on this option. On a lesson by lesson basis it is a bit more affordable with regular income and worth thinking if you know anyone who would give you some basics, even if they haven't got the insurance to actually take you out driving.

Does anyone have experience of different learning methods?

Ahhh fab, thanks :D I was wondering whether to do an intensive course, as I did start learning quite a few years ago, wondered if the short course would actually be cheaper in total cost? I dunno, I still need to sit down and work it out lol

Thanks again ^_^ xXx
