It's true that you will always have some sort of connection with anyone you have had a child with, kiera, whether or not they are abusive. So it is a case of learning to live with that thought hovering in the background. However, as with anything in life, whether a difficult ex, a long-standing health worry or a fear of the unknown, the only one who can put that in its proper place and not allow it to spoil your day to day life is YOU.

That's easier said than done, isn't it? and will take some practice, you won't "suddenly" recover. There is an interesting site that looks at letting go of painful feelings, I have been reading it recently, have a look here

That is a brilliant list Louise, I love it, I am going to print it out and keep it on my fridge.

It is so easy to let the past control the present moment, but we must recognise that is what we are doing and see all the positives currently surrounding us.
