For Thursday night into Friday.

Now, if I thought I could get a refund, I wouldn't worry...

Keep warm though, the north wind will be blasting its way down Britain.

We're on Anglesey and due to travel to Penrith on Friday, returning on Monday.

Back in January, I didn't think for a second we'd have another bad winter.

I've not been looking forward it, but slowly things have been falling into place.  I've bought new some new clothes and swimming trunks...

The children know what the situation is, and understand, so its not a problem...

Its just losing all that money.

I've emailed them to see what happens.

Hi sparklinglime

Awwwh I feel for you, it must be a worry not knowing what is going to happen with this weather.

Lets be optomistic and hope the weathermen have it wrong, but if we are pesimistic and they are right lets be optomistic that the holiday place will give you your money back, it would seem only fair if the advice is not to travel which it will be if the forecast is correct.

Fingers crossed for you here xxx

I reckon it will be wrong (famous last words here!!)

Can't put a price on the safety of my lot, and if I did bend my car, I'd be very upset - and stuck.

It is the money thing, I have to say...

Thank you.

xx

Hi sparkling lime

I don't think any of us could have envisaged that last winter was not a one-off. Witness my antics with the boiler. If I had realised that we would have the same situation as last year I would have had an expensive piece of work done on it this summer. Hopefully the snow this time will be a lot lighter and melt quicker.

That was a good idea to email them. They must be getting lots of queries about it. I don't know about you but I do not normally consider travel insurance for trips in this country. Mind you, that might not be covered anyway. Have you got car breakdown cover like the AA?

Yes, I'm with the AA.

I couldn't find any insurance that would cover bad weather - and I was looking for one a few months back.

I could be that rather than take the dog to the kennels that we'll be dropping her off on the way, if it's bad on the island.

I like to worry, as you know!  The weather we've had the last few days have been perfect and would have been lovely.  Mind you, I'm sure it will add so much to the weekend if it did snow (and melted Sunday night...)!

I've even been trying to find a 4x4 to hire - but can't find one locally!  Not that I'd be able to afford one anyway!!

Hi sparklinglime

Is it worth calling the AA to ask the question?

It would be lovely is you could order the snow to only start when you get there and to melt just before you have to leaveSmile

Lets hope it all works no matter what happens, hope you have a good day today xx

I hadn't thought of that.

I will.

I will make a decision on Friday morning.  As awful as it sounds, leaving it last minute means they won't be able to re-let the property and have a double income from it!

I sort of have a plan - which includes putting two quilts into a vaccuum bag incase we do get stuck.  Snow seems to melt really quickly around here - unless you want it too, of course.

Daft really thinking we'd manage to have a holiday!  Makes me realise how much easier it is staying at home.

I do feel sorry for the children though.
