Well! what can i say! lol ... my self and my friend and 2 of her children (1 just under 3 months and the other 2 in jan next yr) we went out for a meal in a "FAMILY" pub in town all was goin well we decided what we wanted to eat and orded it (as you do!) then we sat and entertained her son (the 2yr old) while we waited for our dinner to come, last week when we went up there they took just 10-15 mins to get the food out to us which we thought was very good (we'v used this pub for some time) but today ... yes they had a few people in (last week they had about 3 crowds in) ... today they took half an hr to get our food out to us so we were sat there tryin to keep a hungry toddler entertained and we kept sayin to him that dinner was on it's way etc but he dosent understand that just yet really, so i took his mind off it and took him out his chair and went for a walk round the pub and out side which worked for a bit and then when i walked past the kitchen i noticed that there was only 1 cook in but what looked like our dinner was just bout cooked so i went and sat the lil man back in the high chair of which he was happy to do so but when they still hadnt brought it out 5 mins later he was gettin ratty again and started crying .. by this time he'd prob be starving and it was hurting him ... so EVENTUALLY one of the bar staff brought a few chips out for him to keep him quiet for a few mins while the dinner was being cooked ... only thing is they were far too hot for him to even try and eat, even i picked one up and put it back down cuz it was hot! so no point in tryin to get lil man to pick one up, then 5 mins later they brought our dinner out and we sat down to eat it.

now mr man being so hungry was just cryin as much as we were tryin to clam him down  and get him to eat something to make him realise that the pain was hunger, then she came up to us and said could you calm him down or were goin to have to ask you to go out side as we'v had a complaint :O so we sat there and looked at each other and i started to talk to mr man just to try calm him down and distract him from things and she left us to it then 5 mins later she came back and said can you go out side please our customers are complaing so we ended up out side with her 2yr old and her 3month old ... yes ok it wasnt too bad today but as soon as that sun went behind the clouds it was FREEZING so we sat there out side (in there out door area) with our coats on shivering. Mr man was in his buggy and i lay him back and just sat there rocking the buggy to get him to calm down and then when he had i handed him one his chips and he started to eat it... of course cuz we ended up out side our dinner went cold very quickly so we didnt enjoy it at all... and then she came back up to us and said oh it's all gone quiet now .. so i turned to her and just said yes well the poor lad had to wait so long for his dinner that he was in pain, and she just walked off with no words to say to us, so on our way out the pub (we had to go back thru the pub to get out) we didnt look at the staff but did glare at all the customers on the way out!!!

so this is a note to say that the White Heart in Ashby-De-La-Zouch is NOT a very friendly or very family pub to go to!

I would have thought that a "family pub" should be there for children! Hatz I think it is worth a proper letter of complaint.

Oh i'v written a letter in deed! hehe! my friend is to much of a coward to write one but it just got to me that they sent us out side in the cold! (i'v got really bad ear ache now cuz of it) :( so they'v got a letter heading in there direction and hopefully i'll get something back! lol i did say that we acsept that the lil man was cryin ... but as it took over half an hr to surve us our food it's no wonder (well words to that effect!) they don't provide things to keep children entertained.. as in when i go in to ASK (italian restraunt more geared for adults but do cater for children!) they have some special sheets of paper that have got pictures to colour, puzzles and even a blank section that kids can colour on and you get a pack of 4 crayons to colour with! to keep the kids entertained while parents talk and wait for dinner to come! lol so i put that comment in (but didnt say which place it was! just said a more of an adult geared food outlet!) i mean what halm could a few crayons and bits of paper do being stocked in the crocklery (can only just say that word yet a lone spell it! lol knives falks etc) cupboard for when a child comes in! lol but there we go! theres a letter ready and waiting for when i go in to town in a bit! hopefully goin to get it thru there door before they actually open! loll

talking of which i better get goin and get ready! lol

Well done, Hatz, I know I have a bit of as reputation as a Victor Meldrew on here Wink but I do believe that if you do not complain, how does the organisation have a chance to put things right? (I also believe that you might get a voucher heh heh)
