 I am working part time in retail but really want to get into social work i am wondering if anyone knows how to apply for voluntary work in social care i am willing to pay for a CRB check myself but im unsure as who to ask and whether they would accept me.

It's worth looking at all the opportunities in your area. Some regions have a volunteer bureau set up to do this. Have a look at this article (click) which provides info and some telephone numbers and links

You could have a look at this webpage - Social Work Jobs, which are all salaried, however you could contact them and find out about voluntary work in your area.
