Hi everyone Laughing

This summer holidays looks like its going to be my last i get to spend at home with my kids,(really need a job)

so i am hoping to fill it with lots of exciting, memorable things that we can do together my kids are 6 and 13 and i live in Lancashire by the sea,

ive been racking my brains thinking of things to do but everything seems to cost so much,so im hoping everyone on here can come up with some ideas of cheap, fun days out, things to do.Undecided

Thanks

Hi threegreatkids - I do love your name!! It makes me smile everytime I type it!

Have a look at thread Holidays for some ideas also we have a number of articles in Family Fun, which include some really family friendly ideas for rainy days!

We also have a list of single parent friendly holidays (that are mostly low cost) that you might be interested in too!

Have you asked your children what they would like to do?

It is difficult with the ages of your kids as I found even with a 3 year age gap they want to do different things

What I did was get two jars and put in suggestions for wet days and suggestions for dry days (most of them free things to do!) I included them in the things I put in the jars and then they picked one out each day - they felt like they had a bit of control then

Also if there are things that are expensive then give them an option of maybe one thing each that costs money that they would really like to do

Just heard about this on the radio - a simple idea quite cheaply and once you have bought one I am sure you could do you own after that

ive got our bikes out and going to give or try lol to give them a once over make sure they are all ok,

ive checked out the local museums and we have a great castle right on our doorstep that the kids have never been to so we are going to go and do the tour,
