Have you got any plans? Do you have things you do every year? Do you give out sweeties to those who come to your door?

Maybe you choose not to celebrate them, I have a friend who is Catholic and they choose to overlook Bonfire Night and I know a couple of the churches hereabouts feel Hallowe'en is anti-religion and put on alternative parties for the children that night.

My boys are grown up now but I keep a stock of chocolate biccies in for little visitors.

I've got some lollies ready.  Having said that, there seem to be less this evening than there were this morning before I left for work!

Youngest is going out with his friends, although I have given them a lecture as I feel that now they're in Year 10 they're too old to be going around.  Youngest has his mask and cloak out ready Cool

Daughter might be out at a party.

At this rate I'll be keeping the lights off and eating lollies in the living all evening!

I don't really bother with Haloween but will have my son for Bonfire night on Tuesday. I've just started a full time job, so have had to arrange meeting him. Both my ex and I live in the same town, and my folks live 30 miles away, so she has arranged to drop him there while I am working. The only tricky thing is, I suppose, will be sneaking out early to go to work the following day and leaving my boy (who's 3) with his grandparents. My ex is very argumentive, but I get over the negativity she pours on me by telling her I'm going to the gym, and just meet me there, and then I can decide what to do with my son. Fortunately she's agreed to hand him over to his grandparents (my Mom and Dad) who will dote over him till I arrive back from work, then we'll go to the Bonfire night - run by the local fire brigade. :-)

Sparkling, I wonder how many of those lollies will still be there tonight? Wink

Hello Thor, and good to hear from you. it sounds like you have put a lot of thought into how to handle things eg meeting your son's mum at a netural venue. Glad she is bringing him to your parents' house now, have a fab Bonfire Night!

I have chosen things for Hallowe'en that can be used afterwards if we get less visitors tonight, sometimes there are hordes and other times a trickle

There had been a few callers before I arrived home from work, so daughter has been guarding things.

Strict one sweet each though, as I only have a couple of packets of lollies.

Youngest has gone out, but I've told him he'd better behave as I feel they are too big now to be going around for sweets.

Not too many yet...

I had loads of really little ones round early on, made me laugh cos one or two of the parents had dressed up as well, though one of the dads ended up looking like Max Wall, ha Cool But anyway no bigger ones came round, often have packs of marauding teens but the sudden heavy rain put them off.

I got a tub of sweets in and they all went quite early so had to turn the lights off to discourage anyone else from coming!

Later I was at my neighbours and some people knocked at hers at 9.00pm! An adult and 2 little girls, seemed quite late to me.

Yes that is rather late, I agree. The biscuits we had left over have gone in the "lunchbox" Tupperware (this is hidden so the boys do not hoover it up instantaneously though I swear my eldest has found the hiding place)
