Thanks for all the advice:)

i think your right anna by not mentioning prison, i dont want them to worry. on the other hand i do want them to know that there has been consequences to what he done. i dont want them to think that a man can do this to a woman and nothing happens. I think i need to be as honest as possible with them but try and miss out the prison bit. i think that would make more sense to them, and they might understand a bit better.

Let us now how it goes won't you. Also consider having something nice to do straight after, so perhaps have some juice and biscuits, tell them you need to discuss something with them, explain about their dad, simply and preferably without emotion, ie factual, ask them if they have any questions, then suggest you all go to the park, or make a cake or play a game, something where you can all be together enjoying yourselves, then of course if they do have a question they can raise it then too!

Good luck, its not easy, but you are doing a great job.
