Hi everyone?!

Um, well yeah I'm me. A single parent, have been since I was 17, am now 20. Wow 3 years as a single parent, I didnt realise it was so long to be honest. So I guess I come under the Young Mum and Single Mum labels.

My son has no contact with his father at all, his Dad's choice sadly, something I did encourage but he sadly decided he didnt want anything else to do with us.

I've been a stay at home Mum J's whole life doing Open Uni courses as well as evening college. I'm also a blogging/internet addict, writer and photographer in my spare time.

Slowly discovering these forums a little bit more so hope to chat with some nice faces.

Hi singlemummynet

Welcome along to One Space. Wow, you're a busy young Mum!! I'm so impressed. Bringing up your little boy on your own, open uni course, and to top it all, writer and photographer.

Do you have family and friends to support you and your son? I hope you get a chance to look around the site, as there are lots of topics that you can join in, if you wish too. Its a really warm friendly group, and I hope to chat some more.

Take care

x

Hello singlemummynet

No need to be timid, you are welcome here and we are glad to see you. Smile

That's great that you hav been doing the Open Uni course whilst looking after your son, it will stand you in good stead for whatever you want to do in the future.

Do you have your own blog on the Net then? Or tend to join in general sites? Does your little one go to nursery now?

Look forward to getting to know you!

I singlemummynet,

Welcome to One Space, I'm HelenT one of the moderators.

It sounds like your keeping yourself busy with Open University and your three year old. I was a young Mum too, I had my eldest son (now ten) at fifteen and combined raising him (and the other two I had subsequently) with my degree and masters study. How do you find it all? Do you manage to meet other students? What has your experience of young motherhood been like? I look forward to talking more.

Hi singlemummynet, you do sound busy!

Not only are you a young mum but you are a single mum too! Double whammy! Do you think that encourages/pushes you to work even harder to create a good life for yourself and your son??
