Hi all
I've just discovered this site although I've been divorced over a year. I am 43 and have one 5 year old son.
Life has been a struggle recently, financially, physically and emotionally and I think I am only now starting to try and get over the divorce. I think at the time I buried all my feelings to stay strong for my son. Now I realise I have to let some of it out in order to move on.
Anyway I am hoping to make some new friends, as I've also realised that I don't really connect with anyone I knew before now. They just don't get the kind of things we have to deal with on a daily basis, not their fault, we are just different now :(
So heres to looking forward
Hi sarah69, welcome to One Space
It is a struggle to get through all the practical and financial sides of a divorce, let alone the emotional bit whilst trying to protect our children from too much disruption. So hats off to you!
It is good to see that you recognise that the time has come to start dealing with some of the emotions that you may be experiencing. We have to stay strong through the process, but it sounds like now you have gotten over the worst and are feeling a bit stronger.
Do you have family close by? Have you made any new friends at your son's school? Do you still see your ex?
I love your last line - here's to looking forward! I look forward to chatting with you more!
Hi sarah69
Good to see you here.
I think it takes a lot longer than we think to get over a divorce.
This site is great for support, advise and a laugh.
