New Member - Single Mum In Berkshire

un2010

Hi, Thought I'd see if there was anyone else around from my area (East Berks). I am a single mum to 5 and would like to talk to those in a similar position.

The boards seem a bit quiet - wld be great to hear from anyone in the area!

Hi un2010

Welcome to the boards, they are a little quiet at the moment, we are in the process of change and the boards are experiencing a quieter time than usual, but trust me people will be on and say hallo to you!

I am not sure if we have anyone in East Berks or whether anyone has 5 children!  But you will definitely meet other single parents here!

How are you enjoying single parenthood? How old are your children?

Hi un2010

Just want to say welcome to One Space and hope that you will join in with the chat and you will be made very welcome.

Life must be very busy for you and I am guessing you have a great deal of expertise to be able to help others in the Parenting Support section.

Do you time for any hobbies and interests and what are they?

Look forward to hearing from you

Hi un2010

Welcome to One Space. Its a lovely site, and full of support, laughs etc.

I have a 7 year old, and have been single from day one. (how do you manage with 5)???????? I guess one good thing is that they have each other for company, the down side of course is the rows!!!!!

I look forward to chatting

Take care

Alison

Hi

Great to see you here.

I'm North Wales - which is having a sunny day today!

I've been on my own for almost 6 years now.  I have four children.

I live in North Wales as well and it looks like sunny again today too : )

Hi Bubblegum, I'm new to this site too and am a single mother of a young son and I live in Windsor, Berkshire.

I can't imagine how you manage with 5! I sometimes can't bathe for 3 or more days with just 1! look forward to hearing from you xx

hello sundaygirl24

How are you today? Great to have you with us at One Space, you are very welcome :-) I am Louise, one of the moderators here.

How old is your son? I well remember those hectic days when you get so little time for yourself (my boys are older now) and my two memories of those days are lots of half-drunk cups of tea all over the house, and spending a significant portion of my life in my dressing gown. Ring any bells?

I do hope you will join in with the general chat, there are lots of different threads here and it would be great to see you as a "regular"

Hi sundaygirl24

Welcome along! I have to say I absolutely love baths, they are my saviour! When times are tough, or I am tired, or my daughter is being hard work, I just lock myself in the bathroom with a good book and not be seen for an hour!  My daughter is 15 though, so I can do that now, when she was younger, she used to sit and talk to me continuously!

As Louise just asked, I am interested too! How old is your son?

The worst thing is when you go to the loo and little fingers appear underneath the door!

It really is a luxury being able to go to the loo in peace.  My youngest is 11, but I do remember those days of having company!

Luckily when they get to be teens they become horrifed at the idea of nudity (theirs or yours) in each others' presence.

Phew!
