HI I am a single mother of 3, 1 at home. I am looking to meet other single parents. I have lost lots of confidence in myself, life and other people. I want to rebuild myself up as I have lost out on so much in life.

Move to North East Midlands over 2 years ago.

I am an NQT (unemployed) Primary Teacher, love computers, poetry, gym visits, walking and swimming.

My child is about to go to secondary school in september.

Do not know what else to say on here. Thanks for the time anyway.

Hi LilacLily and welcome to One Space, like your name, your look and your dress! Lovely!

I am sorry to hear that you have lost confidence in yourself, life and other people, is there any particular reasons for this, or have you just been generally feeling like you have been single parenting for far too long?

It sounds as though you have some interesting hobbies, do you get to get out walking, swimming and going to the gym much?

I am sure others will be along to say Hello some time soon :)

Hi Lilac Lily

Hopefully the school will have a system that eases children in, as they do seem to be pretty understanding these days that it is a big transition. The main things I think are hard are the travelling and also that they have to have their own body weight in stuff with them all the time. How is your son feeling about it all?

I am keen on poetry too, do you ever write your own and whose do you like reading?

They do have systems for the transition x but nothing prepares you as a parent for your last child going up to secondary school x or for your youngest growing up x yes I have around 50 poems so far x not written any in a while x have lost love for life and motivation lool x

Nice to keep the poems, though, for when you feel the writing urge strike you again. I know what you mean about the youngest one growing up, my youngest is 19 now and anyone who claims that the "empty nest" syndrome does not exist, is not telling the truth...it's hard to separate from our children as they become increasingly independent.
