Hello char1988

I moved your post to the Local section as you were wanting other parents  in your area to contact you. There is lots of online support here too Smile

Another couple of ideas: you could also try Netmums (click the link) and see our article about Making New Friends

Hi my name is S, me and my daughter have lived in gillingham for just over a yr and im still finding it hard to make friends as i work full time in a call center so dont have much time to myself.  I would love to meet other mums that live in the gillingham area with kids my daughter's age.  As im finding it really lonley down here on our own

Hi sandy murphy. Welcome along to One Space. It is pretty hard making friends, but it can be done. How old is your daughter? If she's of school age, are there any friends you could invite back, in order to get to know their Mums or Dads more? How about Netmums? The link to that is in the post above yours, from Louise. Do keep posting here though, as we've all become friends, even though it is just on-line.

Hello Sandy Murphy

I wonder if when the parent comes for the drop off or pick up you could ask them in for a coffee...now they will possibly be too busy on that particular day but then you could say what a shame! I never seem to get to know any of X's friends' Mums, it would be good to arrange something......and see what she says.

Also please look at this article, lots and lots of idea you can use. What is quite hard is that unlike when we were children, friendships rarely happen spontaneously, we have to put some hard work into them to start with, and it does not happen overnight.

There is lots of great support here for you too Laughing
