Hi k,

For the egg, how about painting it as soldier ( camoflauge pattern) and attaching, with string, a small plastic bag to act as a parachute?

Hey, I'm attempting to do the easter bonnet thing this year even tho my two are young enough I could just avoid it!

I love the military idea!

Have you googled images online? I found a yellow feather boa in 'The Works' and it's got me thinking about making one big giant chicken !!! just add couple pom-pom ball sized eyes and orange beak! I'm trying to make it look like the kids did at least 50% of the work!! :)

I've also been saving some yoghurt pots as they are just right size for egg 'top hats'.

You could use egg carton? I think sometimes whatever materials you gather to create with can provide the inspiration - otherwise you'll end up seeking some specific shaped box etc and end up changing plan at last min anyway!! :)

I have always seriously lacked imagination with anything like this!

Good luck with all the creations.

Hi little miss K, nice to see you back again! I hope you are well?

Have a look at this link: http://www.activityvillage.co.uk/easter_crafts.htm for ideas for easter bonnets and eggs, there are some good ones, although I am keen on the parachute one myself!

Don't forget once they are done, take a picture then add them to our Family Quilt!

I hope you enjoy family time, making these :) Let us know what you choose :)

Hi little miss k. Glad the boys were happy with the hats. Everytime C enters a competition I always tell him that it is the taking part that counts, and the enjoyment he gets out of making things, dressing up, writing etc. They do get disappointed though don't they if they don't come in the top 3. Only human nature of course. I hope they enjoy it all though. Take care. x

Hi little miss k

Take some pictures, then you can upload them onto the Family Quilt!

I was thinking about you this morning coming into work and wondering how you got on, I saw sooo many children walking to school with their easter bonnets on!

I hope they have fun whatever the outcome of the competition Smile

Day 1, and I'm shattered hehe. Aww, that was nice, having quality street ready and waiting. What plans have you for the hols? Yesterday C and I did a picnic in the bunny park. The weather was lovely, which of course helps. Hope you have a good day little miss k. xx

Our school's don't close until Friday here.  So am able to smirk at the moment!!

Having said that, youngest is driving me mad wanting to go and play with a friend where I have to drive him to.  I have a Scout meeting tonight, and other stuff I have to do, so I've said no.

I'm horrid...

Fingers crossed for the blood test (poor J)

I know what you mean, there is lots of free stuff but they do the same every holiday then! My eldest is 21 now and still gets mailshots from the Railway Museum about Thomas the Tank Days Laughing. I saw in the paper they have a new event at the York Dungeon about those gladiators after what they discovered at that dig, that might be exciting, they had a gladiator fight in the paper.

Also saw publicised that various Vue and Odeon cinemas throughout the country have got some films where they are selling tickets for £1-£2.50. It is only for selected films and performances but worth ringing your local one to see if it is going on. Tip of the day: if anyone goes to the cinema take your own refreshments....lady told me recently she had taken her two children, they had chosen a SMALL anount of Pic n Mix and it cost £14.50 Surprised

Hello little miss k

Good luck for the appointment, let us know the outcome. It does not sound a high result to me but then I am not a doctor.Laughing

Hello little miss k. Firstly am really pleased that J is ok. Secondly, don't apologise for voicing what sort of day you're having, you're human thats all Smile It's good that you haven't gone upstairs and ranted at them. At least you recognise that you need to be calmer before you see to them. Can you separate the two of them, and tell them if they can't play nicely together without the crying, shouting etc, then this is what will happen in future. Will they be going to bed soon?

So glad he's ok.

I've got a fifteen year old throwing a tantrum at the mo.  I have a feeling I'll be going to bed out the way.

I hope they settle for you so you do have some quiet time.

Hi little miss K

Glad your son's results were Ok but it sounds as if your day was very stressful apart from that. School hols can be very difficult and I think we as parents can think that we need to provide all singing, all dancing entertainment 24/7.

You did the right thing in giving yourself time out while you were feeling cross. As long as children are safe, sometimes it is best to leave them to their own devices.

I wonder if you could have a calm chat with them today and talk about the behaviour you would like to see (rather than telling them off for the behaviour you DIDN'T like yesterday) and you could think about a star-type chart for specific things such as hitting. Hope you have a better day today Laughing We are always here if you want to let off steam
