Hi, has anyone here applied successfully for maintenance from a parent who is abroad?
I feel like it will be difficult as my daughters father has never been interested apart from a few letters and emails when she was a baby and he is not on her birth certificate. He recently contacted us on facebook, with a message for her. She is 10 now & I feel like if he wants to have contact with her he needs to show some commitment. Also I have struggled so much financially bringing her up alone so I am now making enquiries regarding child support. It would be good to get some opinions from people who have been through similar situations. Thanks in advance.
Hello the situation re abroad is complicated and depends on what sort of work your daughter's dad does and whether there is a reciprocal agreement between the Uk and that country.
