lewhollancam

Hi i'm Liz,

I have 3 children living at home and my eldest recently went

to live with his dad. I've been a lone parent for 5 years but

only recently have i started feeling really lonely! Anyone else

feel the same?

Hi Liz

Good to see you here.

I do feel lonely at times, but not often now.  I've come to realise that its better this way for me!

My lot are getting older though, so the house is very busy.

Holidays can be quite funny when the children are with their friends!

Hello lewhollancam

Good to see you here. It is hard when you have little adult company. Do you have local support from family and friends? How are the Easter hols going? Look forward to getting to know you more.

Thanks for all your kind comments :-)

My mum died 18 months ago, she was such a big part

of our lives. My dad is around but there's nothing like

your mum for advice and someone to listen to the silly

little things.

Hi Liz. Welcome along to One Space. Sorry to hear that you've lost your Mum. A few of us here have been through the same thing, so can identify with what a huge hole it leaves. Do you think the loneliness you're feeling is because of your Mum? How old are your children? Please keep posting, it's a great group, friendly, warm, and very supportive. Take care. xx

Hi lewhollancam

Sorry to hear about your mum, she was obviously a friend to you as well. Do you think the main feeling is missing her, or is it that you would like to make new friends as well? If you are finding it hard to cope without your mum then it may be a good idea to have some counselling (which you can get through your GP). You can also decide whether you want to change things in your life. Have a look at this article: Making New Friends, which will give you a plan of campaign if this is what you want to do.

Let us know how you are today and a little about your children. Do you work or are you a stay at home mum?
