my son has recently voted with his feet and moved in with my wife and myself however i am still paying csa how do i prove that he is no longer living with his mother and can she be csa 'd on benefits? this is not out of vindictiveness but will along with family allowance (or whatever it is called now) be paid into my sons account as his allowence.

It is right and proper that if you now have fulltime care of your son that you get the state support that goes with it.

The first thing to do is to get the entitlement to the Child Benefit transferred to your name. Here are their contact details. This is the benefit that you probably think of as Family Allowance (that's what it used to be)

Once you have done this you can apply for Child Tax Credit  (for eligibility see here) I would be inclined to contact the CSA immediately, however, and tell them that you now have care of your son. As for your son's mum giving you money, on benefits thsi would only be £5 a week and you will have to decide whether to apply for this.

thanks louise the problem is convincing them that he lives with me...for example, my ex moved to france to live taking my son with them i contacted csa and explained they contacted her and she told them that it was just a holiday it took me 4 months to get my payments stopped
