Skegem

Hi

Please can someone give me some advice.

I am studying with the Open Uni and have so far completed all modules for a Social Work degree except for the 2 x 100 day placements.

I have a meeting with a Local Authority on the 13th as my current employer (not mentioning any names) will not act as a sponsor for variour reasons.

How can I afford to leave full-time employment and work for free to complete my placements? What help is there out there? Does anyone know of any grants or interest free loans for this type of problem?

Does any one know of any other work based route that pays whilst you practice?

I am so stressed as I dont have anyone who can advise or help financially.

Thank you.

Hello Skegem

The college may have some details of anywhere you can apply.

Also, do have a look at our article here (click) It means a lot of ploughing through different organisations. Also, please bear in mind that you will continue to receive Child Benefit and Child Tax Credit for your child and there might be some decent help with rent and council tax.
