I am going to eat chocolate on Christmas morning with my girls and then put the Mamma Mia cd on very loudly and dance around the Christmas tree

What a good idea!!! the thread I mean, as well as  the Mama Mia!

I was thinking of a little Christmas quiz:

1. What is your favourite Xmas song?

2. What is your least favourite one?

3. Favourite Xmas movie?

4. Favourite Xmas food?

My answers:

1. Fairytale of New York

2. Simply Having a Wonderful Christmas Time (Paul McCartney)

3. Christmas Carol (Alistair Sim)

4. Maltesers

HA HA!

Now I want your answers, everybody and also to continue the theme started by little red hen about inspiration to help us all get through Smile

Ok, here goes:

1. Stop the cavalry (although the Pogues come a close second!)

2. Silent Night

3. Love Actually

4. All those different kinds of nuts!

---------

I think I'd get very funny looks, if I put Mamma Mia on at Christmas which will be Christmas Eve for me (foreigners, ey? Apparently, it's snowing there now, so a white Christmas is on the cards). I like the idea though, maybe I'll rebel and do something like it!

So I'll let all the friends and family I hardly see spoil me. And have a snowball fight with my boys.

I will think of you all, although I can't get online at my mum's..... xxx

2 - Least favourite ... Probably none

3 - Favourite Christmas Movie - It's a Wonderful Life

4 - Favourite food - allergies to so many foods not worth considering! Love the Roses and Quality Streets though (tut)

I'm not going to add anymore as it'll end up in a rant.

Oh no! I had forgotten the Mr Blobby song Tongue out

Sparkling my friend is allergic to nuts and her daughter has an egg allergy so they have to be really careful what they buy

That's a good idea, to think of people less fortunate than us Smile

Favourite Christmas Song Mariah Carey, all i want for christmas is you! not sure what the name of the song is, but hope you all know what i am on about! and last christmas, used to have a crush on George back in the day Wink

Least Favourite, can't think of one

Movie, Snowman and Homealone (kids like this one)

Food, Chocolate any variety though i do like Ferrero Rocher, and the little sausages with the bacon around them, yum!

What i do is make sure that i have a new book, a nice bottle of bubbles, bath bubbles that is and enjoy just not doing anything!!  This year kids want us all to camp out in the lounge on xmas eve have given in and said yes, have not worked out how santa is going to visit. It's also a bit of a tradition in our house to play board games at christmas.

1) Silent Night

2) Don't think I have one!

3) Wizard of Oz  (ducks from everyone, hehe)

4) Mince Pies, chocolates, gerkins, (my list is endless)!!

Every year I allow C to open one present Christmas Eve, we play board games too, all over the Christmas period. Even though there's just the two of us, I peel the vegs the night before, so I don't miss anything with him Christmas morning.

I love the idea of camping out in the living room

Fav xmas song - Snow is falling - Shaky!! ( I know I'm an 80's chick, but don't tell anyone!!) & Boney M - Mary's Boy Child

Worst song - hmph still thinking, although I am sure there is one that drives me nuts!

Fav movie - Digby the Biggest Dog in the World!! (When I was a kid anyway!) sparklinglime, I lurve Its a Wonderful Life - amazing film Laughing

Fav food - my auntie's apricot and bacon stuffing! Honey roasted nuts, brandy butter, brandy snaps with whipped cream in

Worst present - daughters father brought me a bamboo calendar from the £1 shop one Christmas, but what made it worse was it was from the previous year!!

What we like to do on Christmas Day is wear our favourite clothes that we don't usually wear - you know, the little black dress that you love but never get the chance to wear, or the really hideous top that is at the back of the wardrobe, but you can't bear to throw away because, well just because!! - one year.

Probably a bit naughty but I do treat myself to a bucks fizz at breakfast! We eat salmon trimmings too!

When my daughter was younger, I used to spread our present opening over the day. In the morning she would gets to open her stocking while I am in bed with my bucks fizz - then we will make some phone calls to family then open a present each Then probably play board/computer games, then open another present each. Prepare lunch together whilst nibbling crisps, nuts and chocolates all day! Then open another present each, eat lunch mid afternoon, open rest of presents bar one, then watch the box for a bit.

I used to like going out for a brief walk around the block , just because the streets feel so different on xmas day! Now my daughter is older and I have a car, as long as I haven't drunk too much, we go for a walk in the country now. Then get home to open the one last present!

Ooohhh, let's see

1) Fave song( well not one, but I have to say I love the Michael Buble Christmas CD)

2) Worst song( well the CD's they bring out each year with all the oldie's on it, that play over and over in the shop...drives me mad)

3) Fave film( Don't really have one, just usually watch what's on and Christmas 24. But likes the Lost Christmas on TV the other night with Eddie izzard)

4) Fave food ( I actually prefer the party nibbles, to the main Turkey dinner, as I'm not actualy fond of roasts, and HATE Brussel sprouts).

Oh, and a footnote..I no longer like watching 'It's a wonderful life' because H loves that film, and now it seems pointless, as he has no bl**dy morals and so it seems shallow that he used to cry at the end because of the family story to it..Bl**dy hypocrite!

5) Worst present...Hmmnn can't think..but it was probably something from my H he got me because he either wanted to listen to it/read it/ use it.

Hope everyone is OK with all the last minute things. I have found a website that tells you how to say Merry Christmas in loads of different languages, here....I was wondering which one to astonish my sons with on Christmas morning, I think there might be a great deal of teenage eye-rolling....
