Just like to say hello.

janet11

Hi, i'm a single mum with 2 children, a boy 9 and girl 14. My son has aspergers which is hard to deal with on my own sometimes and limits our social activities. I've been divorced 3yrs and am only really beginning to settle down both mentally and emotionally. My daughter has adjusted well but my son struggles. They both go to their dads at weekends, but i find it lonely then as all my friends have family time then.

I'd love to make some new friends on here who understand the ups and downs of being a single parent.

Hi janet11.

Good to see you here - the support, even though its virtual, is brilliant.

I've been on my own for over 7 years now.  I have four "children" (well, they're getting on a bit now!).  My third child, who's just turned 16 has autism/Asperger's, and yes, it can be so tiring when you're dealing with things on your own.

The Git (whoops, I mean their Dad) has not had them overnight since August 2007, and moved away 18months or so ago.  The children actually deal with things a lot better without him choosing not to see them and living locally.

Strangely enough - or is it sadly - now my lot are old enough, I find that times can be lonely as friends are having family times. too...

Looking forward to getting to know you.

Hi Janet11. Welcome along to One Space. Yes it can be lonely being a single Mum. My son is now aged 9, and I've been on my own since the pregnancy, so don't know any different really. This is a great place to find support and also online friends, so please keep posting and join in wherever you wish too.
